Any reason why the Premiership being treated different to the rest of the country?
Because Celtic and Rangers can’t agree

Most of these events also use a lot of temporary structures that need weeks or months to be built and there is little point in doing this when there is no end date in sight.
Take it you’ve never been to a race meeting

Does anyone actually believe that there will be the slightest chance that we will see any spectator sport before August at the earliest ?????
These are all international events that require mass movements of people, and are being called off as a precaution. I'm not sure Motherwell v Killie fits into that same category.
Don’t think race meetings at York, Newmarket and Epsom are international events

Good post and I agree.
For clarity, my point was more that the Edinburgh fringe and the Scottish football season have different profiles. i.e. the fringe requires the entirety of Edinburgh city centre to be prepared, people travelling from round the world etc. whilst Scottish football could start next week and you'd get great crowds.
The majority of fans that go to watch the 2 scumbags come from all over Scotland and Northern Ireland
Drink in pubs around the 2 pigsties then make their way merrily back to whence they came

Surprised that we haven't went down this road yet.
Celtic have confirmed plans to put a number of non-playing staff members on furlough.
But Hoops chiefs have vowed to ensure all workers affected receive 100 per cent of their wages.
Celtic today started the process of using the UK government's job retention scheme across the club.
SunSport understands a number of youth academy coaches will be among those on furlough for the next few months.
With no return to football on the horizon anytime soon, other employees in various departments will also be placed on the scheme.
Those impacted will be unable to do any work for the club - with the situation likely to be reviewed in June.
The UK government covers 80 per cent of wages up to £2500 per month - and Celtic will pay the rest for anyone earning more.
Parkhead officials have also promised staff that all other conditions and benefits will be honoured during this period.
A Celtic spokesperson said: “Like many organisations, due to the unprecedented challenges currently being faced, Celtic will be using the government job retention scheme available, in relation to a number of colleaguesThink any club in the UK that tries to go down this road should be told to get to f**k
They will still be paying grossly overpaid prima donnas £10,000s a week into their tax havens
So if these players and coaching staff went onto half wages the clubs would be able to pay zero hours and low paid staff !!!!!
These clubs are living in a moral vacuum and players and coaches should be first to sacrifice salaries during this crisis5 -

You’ve nicked that horse racing comparison from elsewhere. So I’ll nick the response from elsewhere, it’s not horse racing we’re talking about it’s football.
You could counter your argument pretty easily by using F1 Motor Racing. If a race is abandoned for any reason, the result as at the abandonment stands.
Your F1 comparison is correct BUT it’s in the rules the drivers know what will happen before the race starts. Do not know what they would do regarding overall champion if only 10 points between top 2 drivers and still 4 races left and they are abandoned.
Remember super Sunday when Celtic only needed a draw at Fir Park and we all know how that ended …. sport is unpredictable !!!!!
Lets all get into the real world here have you heard the latest prediction from the medical people this lockdown could last until June and then the restrictions lifted slowly over the coming months.
Any kind of sport is not going to be starting soon if at all. People’s priorities are or should be
Still breathing at the end of this
Being able to put food on the table
Still having a roof over your head
NOT WHOSE GOING TO WIN A LEAGUE OR BE RELEGATED

As a football club I certainly hope we won’t even countenance playing games from this campaign after the 31st of May.
We have contracts of several important players expiring then and that should be that.
Either void the whole thing or declare the table final. As much as I’d love to see Hearts relegated, voiding is much the better option.
We can’t be relegating and promoting teams and awarding titles on the basis of probability. If a horse is 20 lengths clear coming to the last fence it does not get declared the winner till it passes the winning post. Remember the horse that jumped a shadow in the Grand National who would have thought it would not win the race.
Until it is mathematically impossible for a team to be caught or able to catch the team above them nothing can be decided. As unlikely as it is teams do hit bad spells remember Newcastle and Hibs from a few seasons back.
I know a lot of people won’t like it but and there is no ideal solution but voiding the season seems the only sporting option.
Also all this talk about football and sport in general beginning in June/July until we get a vaccine for this virus life is going to be very different and on a personal level people in general are going to have a lot more important things worry about than sport.

Fingers crossed for everyone then.
Let's be realistic here. The games are not going to start again in May. It's highly unlikely that they will start again in June
Highly unlikely they’ll start in August

I know football is less important than a lot that is going just now but the SFA should tell every association to sit tight till a decision is made by them and every league should follow their directive Maxwell and co should show some leadership
Canny do that as Celtic want one thing and Rangers want another
So we’re going to have one almighty row when one of them gets what they want to happen .
When it goes to a vote the other clubs are going to have to take side … … … interesting times to come

Today the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced financial assistance with Wages.
I wonder whether Junior clubs are in a position/eligible to receive this assistance or, indeed benefit from the many other means of assistance which are being brought in more or less straight away?
Does anyone out there know? Could it help semi-pro football clubs?
Maybe if they are declaring it and paying tax on it

Thread should be renamed FOOTBALL WHAT IS THE FUTURE
Going by what is being said by some don’t think we’ll see football at any level before September at the earliest
Also think that a lot of people are going to have a lot more on their plates than bothering wether teams join the LL or stay junior before this whole thing unravels

Think we’re getting to the point where we have more to think and worry about than football or sport in general
Way down the list of priorities

How many people are confident that the Cockwomble will come up with a decent solution?
Think UEFA is going to have to come up with solution right across the board

Me neither, its a daft move at his age. He should be moving to one of the big five leagues or at worst the English Championship for a team (Norwich) who expect to get promoted very quickly.
Yip
Just look at the young boy Gilmour who told “The Rangers” to get to fcuk
If your good enough and have confidence in your own ability you’ll get your chance and more money down south
Ps Turnbull is good enough to make it at the highest level down there

There will be an issue with a release clause. Club will want it high, player/agent will want it low.
I doubt we will get anything like we nearly did for him.As part of the extension offer was we would reduce the money that triggered his release but insert more extras
Now I don’t know what it is but say it’s £2M then it’s still £2M so unless anyone triggers it he stays

There's a different pressure on Hearts in this game compared to games against Rangers and Hibs - despite the fact we've got more than double Hearts' points, a normal Tynecastle punter will be expecting (justifiably given the huge gulf in wage bills) to be beating Motherwell any time we play.
The last time we were at Tynecastle, it was at the end of Levein's time and the level of seethe from the home supporters was mental and certainly wasn't helpful to Hearts - our best hope is to start well, get a bit of quality maroon-on-maroon booing action going and take it from there.
If our midfield are anywhere near as good as they were last night, we'll give Hearts a game at least - we great on the break at times and we'll need to be doing that on Saturday...
Same starters as last night will do me...
Not for me
Watt in for either Aaron’s or Hylton

Reports from the trial saying his Mrs has defended him saying there was no issue and that infact he was protecting her. Tallies with what I was told a few weeks ago that she did not want to press charges but two witnesses saying that they felt it was an assault forced the police to act.
Not his Mrs more like bit on the side

Our youth team products have been getting sold before they even make the first team.
No idea why Semple has been frozen out. He seemed the ideal player to come on when Polworth is blowing or when we want to be more attacking.
Strong argument we could have went without Manzinga and Ndjoli. And gave Semple or even Cole Starrs a chance to come on and make an impact. For some reason we like to accumulate a few shite players that won't even make the bench instead of just letting our youth players get a sniff.
Injured ??

The wheels have come off the bus since Xmas ( same with The Rangers )
Is there any connection that both teams line up week in week out with 2 wingers ????
Think other teams have worked out how to nullify this system

This is spot on.
With our budget our squad is never going to be perfect but a mix of this current team and some personnel from the thunderdome team would be ideal. I've said similar but we've gone from having a team of cloggers with no plan B to having a team full of decent footballers but still having no plan B.
Robinson was (rightly) praised for changing our style at the start of last year but if you were to be critical you would say that, once he finds a style, he tends to stick to it a bit too rigidly and it always gets found out.
Correct and teams will do there homework on you
Which is exactly what has happened and we’ve been found out yet Robinson still plays 4-3-3

Football players should be way down the list of people to be tested
Although I’m sure that most of them with the mega salaries will have already been tested privately
