  1. With the exception of young Chris Hamilton, who was outstanding, most players probably underperformed today and played well below the standards they have set and we still came away with a clean sheet and 3 points. Impressive stuff, mon the coo!
  2. Any updates on our keeper situation? Have we extended the loan of Morrison?
  3. Not sure how you can play well and get beat 3-0. Having slightly more possession of the ball doesn’t mean your actually playing well, I can’t remember Morrison having a save to make!
  4. Thought young Hamilton played really well today, has his moments where he is a bit too keen to win the ball where he could just stand off, but hopefully with more games he will come to realise he can’t win everything. But apart from that thought he was really good today.
  5. Regarding the ref, there could have been at least 2/3 QP yellows before the referee seemed to go on a booking frenzy against us.
  6. Queens maybe had spells where they had more possession but never once broke the lines. I thought even though we where without the ball for spells when we did get it we looked far more dangerous. so not sure how you could justify dropping anyone for Allan.
  7. The irony in Colin mcmenamin saying fraser Mullen’s nothing challenge on there winger was a shitebag challenge and his big carthorse centre half puts in a proper shitebags challenge and puts out a young professional for a number of weeks. He was absolutely murder on Saturday aswell thank god fozzy gave him a slap and f***ed off!
  8. Best one for me was mcmenamin having a go at our bench saying Mullen put in a shitebag challenge and was quickly shut up by the gaffer. Surely just keep quiet over something that was a nothing tackle when your teams 3-0 down anyway
  9. Hamilton has been good not excellent. Essentially playing sweeper which is a relatively easy position to play for anyone with a football brain, which he clearly has. It was good decision making but it was also him recovering from the initial pass he gave Kev. Didn’t think anything of it at the time but seeing it back he fired it at him with a striker chasing him down. Im not saying he’s a bad player by any means I just don’t think he’s had the same impact as the other 2 loan signings in my opinion.
  10. Without getting ahead ahead of ourselves, I believe our starting 11 can compete with the top 2 no problem and proved that up at cove, but our squad depth is what will prevent us from any real title challenge. I would be delighted with a play off spot. We seem to have a squad with a real togetherness and spirit at the moment. Hope the injury to big Kev wasn’t too serious, had my doubts pre season, but he has been outstanding so far and made big saves at key moments in games. Between him and smith we have 2 quality loan signings. Especially when you hear Stenny complaining about theirs.
  11. Wonder if many on here still think we need to change the team
  12. Of course nobody wants to see any player seriously injured, at the end of the day these guys are part time players and have a job out with football which a lot of them will rely on to provide for families etc. But if an opposing star player limps of and its nothing serious and he’s at work on a Monday and playing the following week, I’ll take that.
  13. I would have been happy to see de bruyne limp off on Monday night yes, he went on to assist in a couple of goals and score one himself.
  14. Hardly, it wasn’t a serious injury I’m sure megginson was back playing the following week. Probably what’s wrong with our national team actually too nice, and our performances resembling our PC snowflake nation! Back in my day the first shout in the changing rooms was always let them know your f***ing there, leave one on him especially in reference to a star striker. And that’s exactly what you did and hoped he would limp off.
  15. Not sure why we would drop Todd if it is physicality we need? Don’t come much more physical.
  16. Must have been watching different games, because I recall Allan beating Munro in the air on numerous occasions. Based on that I would imagine Renton will win his majority of aerial battles.
  17. He was good against Annan but was never really challenged. Looked a bit suspect against Brechin IMO, when it came to going to win the ball in the air he seemed very hesitant and let the ball bounce which is school boy stuff. Time will tell, but that for me is my concern on Saturday. As for Pyper, it may sound harsh but I just don’t think he’s good enough unfortunately. Especially if we want to seriously be in contention for a top 4 spot. Positionally he is all over the place and is prone to a clumsy challenge in dangerous areas.
  18. Should have been 2 up early on in the betfred encounter before mcguigan bullied Pyper, and then Todd had a howler for an OG. Cox and Allan caused Munro and marsh all sorts of problems that day just couldn’t convert. Will be a different style this time but will imagine Renton will win 90% of his aerial battles against Munro and marsh who are both poor IMO. Hopefully coxy and smith can play off the second balls and create opportunities. Big concern for me will be mcguigan, especially if he plays on Hamilton, think the young lad could struggle with his physical presence. Again after we started well in the earlier game we ended up being ran over in midfield, so hopefully an improvement there aswell. 1-2
  19. All the best to young Ryan. Definitely in his best interests to go and play regular football.
  20. And for what it’s worth I don’t think Allan is a bad player, I think he could prove to be a great impact player for us as the season progresses with his pace. But I certainly don’t see him getting a place in the starting 11 at the moment. And for those who say we should be grateful we still have him etc. Surely you aren’t so naive to believe that if there was any serious interest from teams in league 1 or the championship Allan would still be with us.
  21. I think this about sums up how much your opinion should be valued. Clearly don’t know much about football
  22. 100% record at home and it took 2 long range worldys up at the league leaders to beat us, and the large majority still think they can pick a better team than the manager. With previous seasons we should be happy with the way the manager has got us set up at the moment, especially if you consider budgets I would imagine us to be in the bottom 3 budget wise.
  23. One that sticks out for me is Stirling at home when Allan and Renton where up top together, Renton won his fair share of flick ons, and Allan was five yards deeper than him every time. Renton should be a dream for someone like Alan who should be anticipating it and on the last mans shoulder every time re ton goes up for a header.
  24. We’ve also had our best start in several years and have won 60% of our games, in which Renton has been pivotal.
