Airdrie v Montrose - two sides who haven't quite reached where they'd hope to be after the first quarter, this'll be 2-1 for someone, just don't know who.
Clyde v Raith - The fallout from typhoon Hagibis will render this one unplayable. The SPFL in their wisdom take the idea from the rugby world cup and declare a 0-0 draw, but award both sides 2 points
East Fife 5 Forfar 4
Falkirk v Peterhead, anything less than 23-0 to Falkirk will be required to get the manager in the home fan's good books. I predict a slightly closer, 3-0
Stranaer v Dumbarton, two sides that know how to score, but also know how to concede, I'll have just put the kiss of death on this one now, 0-0!
Remember, where you heard it first!
...now where did I put my lottery ticket?

OK, my turn! The only unbeaten side in Scotland, however we are also the only side to draw 5 games so far. We've played some great stuff, with Saturday's second half, the only real exception. Being hyper-critical though, we've only kept one clean sheet in 9 games. DY's record of going on runs seems to be continuing, so far it's been DDWWWWDDD, (I do worry what will happen when we do eventually lose). The second quarter will prove more difficult for us, I suspect. Saturday's result, the first time we've dropped points from a winning position, should serve as a warning, there's no easy games in this league and if your not at it, you'll come a cropper. Thankfully its the international break, the first weekend we've had off, which should help us recharge the batteries and let any niggling injuries clear up. We've pretty much used the same starting 11, so you do worry about match fitness, of those not involved, if called upon.
The league table is not far off most people's predictions, ourselves and Dumbarton doing better than expected, Falkirk & Forfar slightly worse.
I expect Raith and Falkirk to fight it out for the title, Rover's signing of Steven Anderson, could be a master stroke. Falkirk, seem to be missing everything, we posses. They look like a team of individuals, that don't seem to accept the effort required in league one.
Ourselves and Airdrie at this stage look like filling the playoff places, but if either of us go on a bad run, Dumbarton or Forfar could well sneak in.
Clyde should be comfortably mid-table, with Peterhead, Stranraer & Montrose the bottom three. Stranraer looked well-organised on Saturday, but didn't offer too much in the final third, otherwise they may well have got all 3 points.
So far its been a great start to the season, stand outs, putting 4 past Airdrie & Raith in consecutive weeks, we need to stop gifting a goal start in games though.
I'll give us an A, more of the same please boys.

Will it allow us to tell the Falkirk fans, we've got better door bells than you?
If so, order one up!

Need to see what the circumstances were. Hard to prove travel costs, especially if by car. Maybe a complimentary ticket for the next time Stranraer are at Bayview?

He obviously spoke to someone at the club then. Seems a bit of a breakdown in communication somewhere. Pretty pish, having presumably travelled a distance. Maybe something we can learn from, I know that won't make him feel better about it though.
I remember years ago, circa 1990, my dad went up to Arbroath for a midweek game that was postponed at short notice, he asked if there was anywhere he could get a bite to eat, having came straight from work, missing tea and it was torrential rain. One of the Arbroath players, ( I believe to be Ralph Brand,) got him in for some tea and toast. You appreciate these little things.
There would've been staff in the lounge, dealing with those in hospitality, but I don't know what control they have, surely one of them could've contacted an official, or volunteer.
3.35 today, would've been the perfect time for a Stranraer fan to arrive at today's match as well.

Just heard a Stranraer fan arrived at the game at 3.20 was told at the turnstile he would have to go to the office for a ticket, went to the office ,No one was there, waited around for 15 mins gave up and went home
Why couldn't he pay cash? Was there no one at the turnstiles that late?

Well done to Stranraer for being the coupon buster
Blame that Rover on A view from the terrace, had us as his 'banker', at least I think that's the word he used.

2 questions from todays game, After Dangana having his red card rescinded last week, could we appeal him not getting a yellow for the outrageous dive in the box this week?
and, has Dowds' shot near the end of the first half landed yet?

Only us & Celtic unbeaten now

First half, we could easily have been 3 or 4 goals up, second half, as bad as I have seen this season. We didn't look like we'd played together before. The slick passing was replaced by aimless punts up the park. Dowds who has been sensational, had his worst game. Just as well for him Duggan is injured. The second half has to be our worst performance of the season. As said previously Hart came for a cross, didn't get anywhere near it & was left in no-mans land. Just before that he did well, albiet fortunately to stop a one on one with his heel. Get Brett back! Still, to be unbeaten after the first quarter is fantastic, even more so when you consider we've had only one clean sheet, and that was Falkirk away. The next quarter will be tougher, but sitting in second, over the piece we've had a fantastic start to the season.

Helped me? Given me more hassle and grief over the years! Joking aside supporting a smaller club gives you more of a sense of belonging than a big team would. As a kid, it probably introduced me into a man's world and what being around adults was like. Over my life there's been times I've missed out through finances, work, relationships or simply losing interest. However EF are still there, always welcoming you back, as if nothing ever happened. When I first went in 1984, it was my dad taking me. Now it's me taking him, the baton has been passed & now I take my son, & unless she changes her mind, today will be my daughter's first experience. I always feel a sense of guilt if I don't go without good reason, especially these last couple of seasons. It may well be that EF won't be around forever but we, as fans are guardians of our game and hopefully they'll still be here to enjoy long after I'm gone. I don't long for a rich sheik to come along and turn us into champions league contenders, I just want my club to continue and provide these small, infrequent bouts of happiness and memories for years to come.

On a serious note, why do we count complimentary tickets in the attendance figures when they are not paying & does every club include them in the figures? Just out of interest.

Not bad. If Clyde can find a goalkeeper they might win this though. Thread obviously hasn't found the outer reaches of league 1 yet, ie Peterhead & Stranraer. And for the purposes of this Airdrie can go back to 1878.

David Dangana, Stranraer forward on loan from Aberdeen has had last week's red card downgraded to a yellow. Making him available for Saturday.

Add to that Jim Duffy, John Clark, Joe Miller, and if you include Bazza (only played 40 minutes in a Clyde jersey), that's not a bad 7 a side team !
Was gonna include Joe Miller, but his Wikipedia said he'd played 15 times for the Bully Wee. Still not a bad team sheet though.

Just had a look at Clyde's managerial history. Imagine a team with Billy Mcniell, Graham Roberts & Colin Hendry

I think we need a stewards enquiry to judge whether Murray meets the criteria set out in the OP.
Yeah, never played = eligible. You can have Ian Murray

Forgot about Jimmy Bone. Before my time, but I'm led to believe he was a decent player.

Robbo, would be perfect with Kev & Duggan out just now and Waldo maybe not 100%. Be a headache for the gaffer when they are all fit. We do seem to prefer ex-players when we've chosen past managers historically.

In a idea stolen from off the ball, which former manager of your club, who, at the peak of his playing days would you love to have in your team? (excluding those who did actually play for your side).

Falkirk are getting a little bit of the medicine Raith had to swallow when they came down. You boys are the scalp, and a point is a decent enough result for most teams in the league, so they sit deep and counter. The fact the Falkirk fans expect three points most games (rightly so given the squad) means that should Mckinnon open up and chase the winner, then he plays right into the hands of the counter attack. I always think if you boys dont get the first goal in a game, you are in trouble. There are enough decent strikers in the league that can punish you from set pieces and counters.
Last season I felt with the speed of raith going forward guys like nisbet, vaughan, flannigan and armstrong meant if raith scored first, they would rip the opposition to pieces. Defensively though they were a shambles if you went at them. In anderson, you have a guy who turned patricks season around last year, added stability & adds the odd goal. There also seems to be an acceptance of where raith are now. It's taken a while to change that attitude. Falkirk have a lot to learn about this level. Quality will go so far, but you need the right mentality.

Everyone here seems confident of 3 points, in what on paper should be one of our easier games. Normally I would say guard against complacency, but if there's one thing about DY's team, they always seem to have the right mentally. We have the added bonus of the linos playing the kelpies so we could finish the first quarter top of the pile. According to a view from the terrace, we have the best left foot in scotland with Aggy. Would go with the usual starting 11, if Waldo is fit. Normally prefer Brett to Hart, but after his last couple of games, be cruel to drop him. Stranraer will be competitive as ever 2-1 EF for me.

Did he not get a knee to the back at Montrose? Looked a sore one at the time!Played last week but didn’t look fit- hopefully rested so can be back next week!
Any news on Duggan and Smith? That might explain why Wallace looked poor by his own standards last week. Does a lot of work.
Kev is awaiting an operation, unsure about Duggan.

I thought Ayr were going to continue with McCall's assistant, as he didn't follow him to Partick. It wouldn't matter what Young's contract said, if he was offered the job & he fancied it, he could resign & we'd get nothing. That is probably why we're not playing hard & refusing Ayr permission to speak to him.
