  1. Miles ahead of where I expected.

From a pre season where we were already tipped for relegation to then one where the managers budget was drastically cut to the point he almost left the club at one point because of it and with a real looming financial crisis on the cards and the potential failure of fan ownership that lead to us naming one sub and the son of our main sponsor starting the season as our only striker to receiving transformative investment from Dalrada without giving up any control of the club that allowed us to improve all aspects of the club, purchase land outside the ground to transform in to some sort of fan experience pre match next season, and build a competitive squad of decent and hard working players in the image of what Morton fans desire most from their players that were enjoyable to watch most weeks, the majority of which are all signed up for next season.

It's been one of the most enjoyable seasons for us in a while, and a lot of that is to do with how for the first time in a lot of the fans lifetimes, the club feels closer to the community and heading in the right direction off the pitch as much as on it, which is why although missing the playoffs on goal difference was disappointing, I've yet to speak to a Morton fan who wasn't over it almost instantly and looking forward to next season.

Still stunned how many opposition fans watch our manager's post-match interviews. The day I use up actual minutes of the only life I'll ever get to live to listen to what Dougie Imrie or Paul Hartley or whoever has to say, you'll know I've given up.

To be fair I wouldn't watch a video of Owen Coyle in a match where you'd beaten us which is why I've unfortunately watched four videos of Owen Coyle this season.

Especially good after yesterday. We were the only team even trying to play football, we passed them off the park while their sole tactics were flinging elbows and raking studs down legs. 2-1 utterly flattered Queen's Park there.

I watched the highlights this morning wondering if Morton had edited out lots of Queens Park good play/chances that Coyle was talking about and then I realised I was watching the Queens Park highlights.

  4. Local paper reporting that Tidser is after our youth academy player Reece Lyon who is currently on loan at Annan.

Never quite lived up to his potential so far but he's made over 100 appearances for us and definitely has ability and also seems to be having a good second half of the season with Annan.

  5. Thought I was going to have to come on and plead my case for Baird to be in my team alongside Grimshaw but I see he's had a few mentions.

Utterly flabbergasted at how good he's been this season to be honest. Barely lost a header all season, has scored 6 goals o think and performs at least a 7/10 most games, rarely dropping below a 6/10. Probably suits playing for a team like us that just want our defenders to defend but he's been my Morton player of the year above even Grimshaw.

Morton battle hard and had some decent moments but QP by far the better football side. Morton Manager lacked a bit of class at the end trying to have a go at QP fans, it was a draw mate relax.

Shields must score the chance before half time. 3-0 at the break and it’s over. Then a perfectly good goal disallowed from Eze.

Really poor from Charlie Fox for the first Morton goal. There’s only 1 runner into the box just feckin look over the shoulder and get close.

Jack Thomson and Savoury outstanding for me. Loads of good performances but just not enough sadly.

Oh well, congrats on the 2-2 victory it was a good day out for you lot.

Congratulations on your one point against us this season which is still one point more than your pointless post.

Hmm, this is what I expected. But who knows! We really need someone that can hold up the ball in the final third and maybe Gavin Reilly could be our man!

He was good for us last season in the championship once he got his first goal. He was the championship player of the month in January 2022.

Up until he got his fitness going and that first goal he was pretty useless but once he was up to speed he was an extremely valuable member of our starting 11 and most Morton fans would have been more than happy for him to stay at us.

  8. So it turns out our first goal was neither offside or a foul on Ferrie.

Didn't realise at the time that Oakley showed a decent bit of composure to make sure he got the shot away for his second. Very unlucky not to get his hattrick as well with the one off the post.

Muirhead will be disappointed with the free header and the one on one he missed. We need to keep him scoring consistently to keep his confidence up so hopefully he can bang in a couple next week.
