  1. I’ll be absolutely raging if we lose Johnson.

    Hamilton

    Kerr
    Meetings (if fit)
    McGhee
    Marshall (if fit)

    McPake
    McGowan
    Dorrans
    McDaid

    Johnson
    Hemmings

    Forster needs binned.
Toss up between McGowan and Byrne.
    Likewise with McPake and Todd.

Would rather go with Todd as McPake doesn't have a future at the club and hasn't played at all since he joined.

Has to start Johnson, and Forster has to be dropped after Saturday. Qots did the quickest thing they could do to score a second goal at the weekend, and that was to kick it straight to Forster. Absolute donkey.

Feel McGhee has been our best performing and most consistent CB, yet is being dragged down to the level of Meekings and Forster.

We badly need to sign a competent CB in January, aswell as a LB.

Mackie is pish, and I'm glad people are starting to see what I've been saying since he joined. A tap in against a pish alloa team isn't going to change the fact he's shite, contrary to what some people said at the time, about putting "solid shifts in".

Less said about Byrne the better. I've wasted too much of my time speaking about him. Just shite. Robertson should be playing every week imo.
  2. Don't understand why he brought Mackie or McPake in.....they're not going to have a future at our club so why persist with them when players from the academy could do with getting chances in the first team?

In January we need to get a good centre half to play with McGhee, and we need to get an attacking midfielder who is quick on and off the ball. Someone who can run at defences instead of another Byrne or Ness who just passes sideways for the sake of it.

Friday proved why he needs to play Johnson with Hemmings, and why Nelson should be an impact sub. Johnson is capable of winning headers in the air and is better at getting the ball booted up to him than Kane. United's centre backs were brutal against Kane, always going in with arms and elbows, compared to Forster who was getting bullied by wee Shankland.

  3. Shite first half, shite early period in the second. Once we got the penalty we absolutely cruised the rest of the match and could have scored more.
Pity to see so many Dundee fans leave after the second goal, there was still plenty of football to play and they could have got themselves back in the game.
You joking with that last comment ?surely a dig[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]hard to perceive sarcasm properly over the internet[emoji1787]
  4. Where have I said we aren't shite? I think you'll find I have said, numerous times, this whole league is utter shite. One of the worst performances I've seen in a long, long time seen us comfortably beat Morton.
You're right, posters ages doesn't matter. Signing in online and flailing your arms calling anyone who disagrees with you an Arab or related to a player they refuse to mark out as "utter shite" does put you across as somewhat of a zoomer though.
Only way to comprehend how someone can say Byrne played well tonight.[emoji23] amazes me how some fans actually rate players that olay terribly week in and week out.....and I wouldn't say the Morton game was comfortable.... We were shite and happened to win the game. That's it[emoji23]

Waiting for McPake to come out with the same stuff. "Gave it a good go", "didn't get the breaks tonight" etc.

And to the over emotional grown man in the Bobby cox, who resorted to calling someone specky in an argument ([emoji23]) - you don't need coaching badges to see how shite we actually are. Some fans are in denial [emoji1787]it's a funny wee distraction from an otherwise worrying night
  5. I agree there can be a time and a place for slow play.  I also agree a derby is not the place for it.  If we can see that why can’t McPake?
Because he's out of his depth. We were wanting McCann to succeed and do well so badly, before we were eventually calling him out for being out of his depth. McPake is useless. I've got alot of time for him from when he was a player, but it's not been good so far.
  6. Yes, I'm related to Shaun Byrne. There's boys been posting here longer than you've been out of nappies that you are calling Arabs and it's all everyone else's fault.
    You're a fucking fruitloop.
Bit of realism can do you good, if you aren't too oblivious to the shite we see every week [emoji1787] we are shite end of. The age of other people has absolutely f**k all to do with dundee being shite[emoji23][emoji23]
  7. Given that the slow, laborious play play happens just about every game and we seem incapable of breaking at speed it can only be down to the fact we either do not have good enough players or the coaching / tactics isn’t good enough.  Either way it doesn’t look good for McPake.
Exactly my point. Happens every week
  8. Not all of them, no. Can you name a player who finishes games with 100% pass completion after 90 minutes? Anyone in the world.
I've no idea what you're on about with the latter part, it'd be pretty hard for him to pass backwards considering he drops and splits the CH's so is regularly the furthest outfield player back.
Far, far worse performers on that park tonight. As I said, he'd be one of the last players I'd have a go at in the changing room.
You must be related to him then if he's one of the last players you'd criticise[emoji23][emoji1787] slow on the ball, slow off the ball, no pace at all, passes back the way and sideways all the time. No awareness at all.

Oh, but he "plays a role in the team"

It's his "job to pass it sideways"

Load of pish. Players can think on their own, they don't need a manager to tell them what to do. If McPake tells them to lump it up the pitch and Hemmings is getting bullied off the park then the players shouldn't keep doing it.
  9. [emoji38]
that includes no left sided midfielder or winger, a guy playing rightback who looks every bit as much out of his depth in this league as he did the one above, a LB signed from a part-time club, two viable centre-halfs in the entire squad, a bombscare goalie, and trio of forwards who might as well spend 90 mins running laps of the pitch for all the service they get because we can't play two up front without being totally exposed in the centre of the park,
But aye, sure, we should be doing better than 3rd in the league.

Whis the other "viable" CB apart from McGhee. Forster is shite and has been vullied by Shankland in two games now. Meekings is just shite.
  10. Nah, McPake has built a squad with an experienced quality midfield, and has been in charge for 6 months. If you think, technically, having no real shot on target, at home, in a derby, is fine because United have spent more money, then you're completely deluded.
You're deluded if you think a midfield with Shaun Byrne in it is "experienced" or "quality"

We way we played in the second half (slow passing back to one another and not passing forward) is what we've done all season.

    Nothing's changed
  11. Your midfield of Dorrans and Byrne, a midfield pairing most top flight teams would love, got dominated by a midfield containing Callum Butcher.
Money has nothing to do with what happened tonight
Dorrans is a decent player with good ability, but c'mon. Shaun Byrne is shite and couldn't get into the livi team. How he got MOTM and continues to get played every week is beyond me
  12. I'm not sure how getting beaten by a team spending twice the amount of money on their squad that we have, when they've also had four seasons to get their shit together and assemble a decent squad = McPake being out of his depth.
This Dundee team isn't capable of winning this league, so I've no idea why some Dundee fans seem to be under the impression we should be. We've dumped about 25 players since January, neither McPake nor any other realistic manager would sort that out in one transfer window.
Performance was pish, but we're playing against a team away ahead of us in terms of money spent, and preparation time. We've just won three of our last four, so was McPake out of his depth for those as well?
f**k sake[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]. Is this an actual dundee fan or is it a parody account. He keeps on playing Byrne, Mackie and Forster every week. He doesn't look to change it up or do anything different. He's obviously tells them to just lump it up the park to the two 6"4 united centre backs in the hope that Hemmings wins anything. Slow in passing and moving, which resulted in loads of chances in the second half for United (see the 2nd goal). He's clueless.

Doesn't matter if they've spent twice as much as us or been able to build a squad for longer. You should give 100% in every game, especially this one, and you should be able to change things and do things differently. It's called thinking in your own

That game was so easy for them tonight because we don't have the ability to think about trying anything other than what the manager tells us to do.
