Kind of agree PTB, but as per the new rules, a penalty it is - arms away from the body.

Not sure of the man of match. I had narrowed it down to two - Jordan and Dan, but watching the highlights, it showed how many more  The Braves could have scored if it wasn’t for Michael Robinson.

I’ve just qualified as a referee and I just want to say that what you’re saying isn’t entirely correct. The laws state your arms must not be outwith your “natural silhouette“. In most cases this means away from your body - but at some points your natural position is not to have  your arms right by your side.

Look at the results grid: https://www.eosfl.com/item.php?pg=resultgrid&pd=1058&it=212 - Burntisland have played/won v Ormiston twice and Craigroyston once, LTHV still to play a team in the bottom three.

Though I've also noticed that Shippy seem to have decent discipline, not seen reds on their match updates or in the suspension list recently which no doubt helps.

They went down to ten men against Ormiston. That was a second yellow though - and it was a soft one so I wouldn’t say they have a discipline issue though.

    Who’s Facebook r u referring to ??

Referring to the public group. I have noticed it’s the same person every time though so hopefully not genuine complaints.

I thought the referee was good today. Got most decisions right as did both Lino’s. No complaints from me

Good to know. He was the ref at Ormiston a few weeks ago and I had no complaints about him then.

To be fair I think most of the refs at this level are fine though.

  4. I’ve never been to Inverkeithing so I don’t know if it’s true for them - but there’s a good chance they are giving accurate numbers. I missed Ormiston’s first home game of the season but have been at every other one and can vouch for the attendance at these games being correct. We just have the same people who always come and watch so the crowd is the same each time.

  5. It was a frustrating game for Ormiston on Saturday. They were 1-0 down but in the game for most of the first half - 5 minutes before half-time they commit one of the silliest red cards I’ve seen, and then have to play an hour with 10 men. In the 5 minutes after the red card they then conceded 3 goals and went in 4-0 at half-time. That killed the second half, but the 6-2 score line doesn’t truly reflect how the game was - it was a much better performance than the last few weeks. (Apart from beating Dumfries YMCA 6-1)

Well done to the fixture secretary getting that to fit

I take my hat off to the fixture secretary for the whole season. He does a phenomenal job, especially when it gets to the end of the season and there’s league fixture backlogs to fit around cup games - it’s something I couldn’t do.

It’s unlikely to be the same game as you, but I don’t share your reticence about calling out the attendance at the game I was at - there was absolutely no way there was anywhere near approaching 450+ at Tranent. No way. These attendance figures - provided by the home club I imagine? - shouldn’t be about some sort of self aggrandisement but about a realistic count or estimate of how many were there to watch the game. Do they actually teach arithmetic in Tranent?

I go to school in Tranent and yes, they do teach us arithmetic. 😀

And for me, I wouldn’t be surprised if there was the quoted 450+ last Saturday - it was a huge crowd, much bigger than I ever remember there being when I’ve been at Foresters Park before. I think what bumped up the crowd was the number of children kicking a ball about, there was a lot more than usual.

Firstly great win for the Belters , good first half not so good second half , what a debut by the boy Landers ( looks like we have got a good one there fi Nitten )

took both his goals really well. First point - Penalty , i was too far away to say if it was or not. Second point - 1st sending off , ref got it right the boy had just been

booked then took the decision to go through the back off Nelson right in front of the home dugout and nearside linesman (stupid tackle ). Second sending off

the boy took one for the team. Good win but not great second half AGAIN we need to start playing for 90 mins and not 45 or one day it's going to bite us on the bum.

    Lie Forrit

I’ll take your word for it with the first red card. I didn’t get a clear view of the challenge and thought it was maybe a second yellow for dissent.

In terms of the Tranent performance I’d say they played just as well in the second  half - Musselburgh just got going so made it a more even second 45 minutes.

  9. I usually watch Ormiston (hence my username) but with them playing Burntisland away I decided to go to Foresters Park this afternoon. From a completely neutral view it was a great game. I felt as if Tranent should’ve been more than 1-0 up at half time, but ultimately probably deserved the win. Musselburgh were much better in the 2nd half - but I would say the 2nd red card was silly. I was stood by the corner flag, and for me, the Musselburgh penalty was a penalty. I think I’m in the minority out of the crowd today but the ref had a good game, IMO. I’m not sure about the 1st Musselburgh red card but apart from that I’d say he got most things right.

Overall it was a good afternoon out for me.
