Did he really though ? Kerr was sacked not long after Smith took over due to the teams performances , financially he could or would not sustain much longer , I don’t see that as a reasonable state , McCall left as he knew there was no money to get the team he wanted and at that time things were starting to go wrong in the boardroom , 2 directors resigned due to what was happening under Lachlan if I remember correctly , just weeks before he sold the club

This is all news to me.  What was happening “under Lachlan”?  My personal recollection is that you were very positive about Kerr’s appointment and were very critical of anyone who saw it as a cheap option appointment that lacked ambition.  Now you seem to be saying it was a sign of a deepening malaise that Cameron bailed out on at the first opportunity. My own understanding is that Cameron was looking to sell the club for the best part of a decade and spent years chasing carpet baggers and trying to find someone he could trust to take the club forward.   Is this just revisionist spin to justify the mess we’re in now or was there things that weren’t in the public domain at the time?  With due respect, this kind of ITK nod and wink stuff doesn’t help the club at all.

People wanting a match preview isn't a big ask mate.

Don’t recall saying otherwise.  It’s the level of bile and nonsense that’s a bit of a concern.  We had folk losing their minds yesterday over something Duffy didn’t even say.  Now we have folk getting their knickers in a twist over a very necessary statement being issued, the grievance being that the rest of our social media output isn’t good enough.  Finlay21 has done a pretty good job of explaining the situation.  I don’t know why our social media has gone to shit, but it sounds like it’s a combination of volunteers not being available anymore and the fact the club has been running without a commercial manager for 4 months.

There are plenty of legitimate criticisms of the club just now, on and off the park, but picking fights over nothing isn’t helping anyone.

You are making things up - no one has defended it. Several people have simply pointed it the ongoing style of club communication.

Suggest you read some of the responses to the club statement.  And as has been explained to you, the club has to be seen to be responding in this manner, probably in hopes of avoiding a fine.
That said, there seems to be a fair amount of false equivalency going on - why have the club released a statement about this but didn’t mention Michael Hewitt ‘s injury??  Folk need to grow up a bit.

He didn't say it like it is. That's my issue. Morton are in just bad shape as us yet we shouldn't expect to beat them. If not Morton then who Jim? Who will we actually try to beat?

    He's done.

Someone look out his pipe and slippers as it's time he was put out to pasture.

That’s not even close to what he said.

    Not even close.

  5. Don’t see the point of turning Duffy into some kind of pantomime villain.  I think he’s basically a decent guy and an experienced manager who is as frustrated as anyone with the mess he’s inherited from Hopkin.  What do folk expect him to say?  If he talks us up he’ll be accused of being delusional, if he says it like it is, he is accused of having no ambition.

The reality is that there won’t be many changes to the squad in January so he knows he’ll have to broadly work with what he’s got - putting the boot into the team won’t help if they down tools on him.  Having a wee pop at the fans isn’t a great idea, but was probably said in the heat of the moment, though it’s undeniable there is a pretty toxic atmosphere at the moment which seems to have spread to the away support who are generally more supportive of the team.
