You'd think he would learn from when he did that against 8 man Dumbarton in the 3-2 game, only for Paul Paton to end up unmarked in our six-yard box.

Hugely disappointing result, especially when it sounds like we dominated. I said on the match thread but quite a few times recently we've played well and dominated possession but haven't created enough clear cut chances and have also gave the opposition some chances through a lack of concentration and poor defending. I'm not sure how much that was the case tonight but hopefully dropping points like this will stop it from happening again. We really need a win on Saturday against a team we've struggled to break down so far this season.

Played extremely well for most part keeper poor at first goal to let them back in. Disappointing as we gad enough chances to win several games still can't gubsmacked how we dropped two points.

It was a great result and has to be praised as such. Felt happy for Jordan Allan and his full game and performance will surely help him. Although Easton got MOM  and his football was delightful in the first half he kinda dropped out after halftime. I thought Smith was smashing and just the lack of s goal kept him out of it. Some of our defence was bizarre when we were so dominant. How they never scored in that stramash is maybe why they are bottom. We let them off the hook in 2nd half. Clean sheet, four in a row, gap closed to Montrose and a cracker next week all means a good Saturday night as well as my first 2022 Curry.

Good performance today liked the pace and movement up front today perhaps the opposition wasn't the best but a good show all round ♦️

If we are going to rest Gallagher ( and there is a strong case for that)then McGill is the better alternative. The defeat today however did come from not scoring first, after being slow to get going in the first half. Yes there was an excellent chance for Easton and another for Gallagher in that 20 minute spell after half time,  and  I thought we were gong to get the opener. The poor defending at Megginson's goal was the decisive point, and we were not helped by falling asleep a few minutes later.  Frustrating day but it's a tight L1 especially when you look at the other results.

Disappointing had the chances didn't take them then started to fall deeper lost bad goal sadly you could see it coming. Imo showed them bit to much respect.

Like Gal but not been at his best for me need to get McCabe back into midfield.

Personally I think an opportunity missed by his teammates or management team to have “ dedicated “ the win or even Easton, Smith or Kerr “dedicating” their goal yesterday in support for Rico. Rico given an enforced 2 week “holiday” by the club is just a ridiculous decision. He’s a full time footballer and missing 2 weeks will no doubt be like 3-4 weeks the time he gets back fit and back up to game speed. That club decision has now had a detrimental to the Airdrie squad.

IMO I don’t think the club done enough in their investigation but that’s just my own gut feeling.

    Show racism the red card.

Trying not to get involved but does anyone seriously think in this day and age any professional football club would get away with not investing serious accusations of this nature. I don't no what the outcome was and I wasn't there however you would assume the police would be investing would you not ♦️

Posted on the Cove thread but we were all saying that we'd settle for a point around the time of the late goal-so an unhappy and annoying  end to a pleasant trip up and nice weather. The performance was a bit flat in an attacking sense from us.   Will need to get back on track against Clyde.

Disappointing result in the end strange and very tight league this year one or two things need to click and McCabe defo missed that said we can more compete with anyone in this league. Agree we do need to get back on track next week.

A word on the ref thought he was very poor ♦️

Completely agree, and the fact this actually needs explained to people is worrying. You cannot have a song (however affectionate it may have been) in which literally the only 2 things you mention about the person are his race and sexuality (which was presumably only started because at the time those things were 'different' or 'unusual' in Scottish football). I know people aren't meaning any harm by it and it's a form of reminiscing about a player held in high regard, but the world has moved on and singing a song in which a player's race or sexuality is brought up is just not acceptable anymore. Again, I find it worrying that this needs said.

The justification of 'well he didn't mind it' reminds me of David Brent's response in The Office when reprimanded for telling the 'Black Man's Cock' joke. It wasn't an excuse at the time, and it's certainly not relevant now given he has sadly passed on, it's about what are acceptable topics to sing about at a football game, which these clearly aren't.

Having been brought up in different times there were songs and chants that are unacceptable today but we can't change history abuse is not acceptable it comes in all shapes and forms and we should get older and wiser u can get ur religious beliefs and ur parenthood questioned just for being an Airdrie fan that we are all right wing hooligans. I believe passionately in equality for all and fight for people's rights in employment. I was brought up to believe we are all born equal sadly some people from all walks of life go to far.

Society is the issue when you see the tweets from journalists politicians and people who should no better just in the last few weeks it is hardly settling an example.

I often wonder does the people who do this realise the pain they cause.

This is my humble opinion and not meant to cause anyone offence. ♦️

In terms of strikers, I’d say only Cove (Megginson), Clyde (Goodwillie) and maybe Queen’s Park (Murray) have a particularly great striker at this level. Falkirk have some good attacking midfield options but other than Keena their strikers are pretty rubbish. Montrose haven’t really had a great striker since they’ve been promoted, while Alloa have Connor Sammon. We don’t have a striker on the same level as a Megginson or a Goodwillie but I think we possibly have the best strength in depth up front in the league. Most teams would be happy to take Kouider-Aissa, Gallagher, Smith and McGill with the form he’s in just now. Hopefully once they’re all fit and Gallagher gets his first goal we’ll be alright.

You’re right about a lack of holding the ball up towards the end of the game being an issue, particularly on Friday and against Dumbarton, but I think that was mostly due to McGill being visibly knackered for the last 10/15 minutes. I’m hopeful that Kouider-Aissa will help with that when he’s fit, as while Gallagher is alright at holding the ball up at times he’s more of a penalty box striker and it’s clearly not Smith or Allan’s strong point either.

We are not exactly cup specialists under Mr Murray get pumped usually regardless of the cup competition though there were some valid excuses for Friday. Imo the problem is we haven't taken the chances to kill games off and again imo I am not overly impressed with any team we have played so far though we do have some fullback issues we will be ok this season if we don't have to many injuries.

Paid my tenner today and no internet problems. Warm and dry in a comfy seat rather than windy and probably wet Balmoor-but first away game missed since pre restrictions: will I miss the live experience? I will certainly miss the marvellous fish supper in Stonehaven, still a curry will suffice-get me a win!

I may have made the effort to travel if had a few more points on the board but as you say can't complain 10 quid to watch at home. Would imagine if streaming still around by the winter be some very small crowds around more so if cheaper to watch than going to the actual game ♦️

It definitely has some baring, how much I’m not sure.

I was speaking to an old fella who hadn’t made it to games as he doesn’t have access to the internet.

I messaged someone at the Club about it and he is going to see what can be done.

On top of the folk that don’t have access the online stuff, I’m sure there are others who are just lazy and can’t be arsed going online to buy tickets. I know in my group of mates it doesn’t take much persuasion to spend an afternoon in the pub rather than going to the game. This just gives them another excuse.

Is the game being streamed on Saturday ♦️

I’m a season ticket holder so I might be the wrong person to ask but Airdrie home games in League 1 are unappealing to me (and presumably everyone else) for two main reasons. Both of which feed into the other. Firstly, there’s zero atmosphere and the whole experience is a bit soulless and joyless. Secondly, and most importantly, we never fucking win at home. Either would make home games far more palatable but we get neither of them. Home games would be far more palatable if there was an atmosphere at games and/or you were going somewhere like an old Broomfield, a Somerset Park, a Palmerston or even a Cliftonhill. Obviously that’s never going to happen but the stadium can make for a decent enough atmosphere when there’s a crowd in. The Falkirk game last week, and the ones previous, have been some of the more enjoyable home games in recent years because there’s actually been a crowd in. Just look at the Motherwell game also. But all sins around there not being an atmosphere would be forgiven if we actually won more games than we didn’t at home. That’s what would ultimately get more people into the ground and in turn would create a much better atmosphere. We saw it during our run at the end of last season. You actually looked forward to watching the home games on a Tuesday night, more people were more invested, people were positive online, bought merchandise etc. It’s just a shame we couldn’t get into the stadium and manifest that positivity in person. I’m not sure the price puts people off although I don’t think it helps and it gives people another reason not to go. Again if you start winning games and give people a reason to go they will pay for it. But it’s grim at the moment when you’re turning up for a run of the mill league 1 game, there’s 50 away fans, you’re playing Murrayball and you’re not even winning. It’s just not enjoyable at all.

So aye the TLDR version really is, if we want to get more people through the turnstiles, start winning some fucking home games please. Over to you Mr Murray.

Your spot on about the stadium, atmosphere and prices imo there is little or no positive PR comes out from the club to encourage fans to attend games and you need a winning team also though in traditional fashion when we do get a decent home support we blow it home for has not been great for a long long time to many dropped points against teams we expect to beat ♦️

They are only easily fixed if you believe that the silly mistakes and bad finishing are uncharacteristic for those players and not, as I'm inclined to believe, that they are just representative of the ability of our players. The misses from the likes of Smith and Allan were exactly what I'd expect from them, I like Smith as a player overall but he can't finish, and Allan's goalscoring record speaks for itself. Therefore saying 'we just need to take our chances' isn't as easy as it sounds as you are asking players to do things that they don't have a track record of doing.

It's still hard to judge on few performances, but I think we probably have better footballers this year than we've had for a while - McCabe and Easton can clearly play a bit in midfield (compared to Paul McKay playing attacking midfield last year!). But that doesn't mean that much if you lose daft goals and can't score.

I think it's important to remember that although we finished 2nd last season the squad that we had for the bulk of the season was not a 2nd place standard squad. We only sealed our place in the top half in the last game before the split, and only achieved that due to signing Turner and to a lesser extent Paton. Our actual squad for the season (minus Turner and Paton) was a mid-table squad at best. And that was in a season when Partick were rubbish until after lockdown, and Falkirk were just rubbish. This season Cove have (on paper at least) improved their squad, Falkirk are better, Queens Park have replaced Forfar which is a huge upgrade, Montrose look similar to what they were last year and played us off the park, and you have Alloa who have put together a decent squad. I'm not convinced that we've improved on last year, but even if we have to maintain at least a top half position we'd need to improve pretty significantly to keep up with the improvements in the rest of the league. It is very possible (infact very likely) that we could have a better squad than we had for most of last season but finish a few positions lower.

I've said for a while that Murray deserves this full season with his squad, so in a sense it's a pointless debate, all we can do is see what happens and hope it works out. But I'm certainly less optimistic than yourself and a few others unfortunately.

2 points: firstly disappointed at the attendance for home games and yes there are a few factors that have contributed to this but still.

Secondly v Montrose we were awful and deserved that result the other 2 games there have been promising signs Falkirk did to us what we did to them last season. Yet again we have so many new players I am not surprised there is work needed.

I was none to impressed with Falkirk or Queens Park all be it in a league cup game so for me we will be in the play-offs and hopefully better prepared.

I don't always agree with the managers assessments of games but imo again he was spot on this week.

We will never have a Coyle again, maybe another day another game and we could have scored 4,just hard to take at the moment.

Mixed emotions today while enjoyed the game disappointed at the result. The difference today Falkirk scored with first 2 chances we overplayed things around the box and the first touch from some was poor. I was not overly impressed with Falkirk thought we more than matched them sadly we squandered too many opertunities.

Last week the game management last 30min  was awful today with roles reversed it was just as bad. Imo there are some good signs and can't fault the effort the team are putting in but we need to defend much better than we are as although season just started 1 point from 3 games is not good enough ♦️

Still the course of an entire season to go of course. But today is a must win IMO. While we’re in this league the play-offs at the very least have to be our aim. The players and management have not only said that but that they want to go one better. But even disregarding that, 1/6 points and  1 win in 6 games is a poor return. 4/9 points is by no means great either but is at least salvageable and something to work from. Any less than that though and I think we’re struggling already. We should be looking to win today and win our next two games to see out the month. No reason why we can’t but not sure at all that we have the consistency to do it.

I'm more in hope than confident today, did play some good football for first hour last week though as the Dumbarton commentators said we are easy to get at. Agree we need some sort of result today ♦️

My favourite thing is how at every kick off  we just boot it out for a throw in. Every IM team has done it. Skillz and a running joke now 🤣

Makes you wonder my favourate is the pre planed goal kicks specially with the coaches very cunning plan of every outfield player moving to one side of the pitch to watch the ball sail out of play ♦️
