Also see that Shaun Byrne is staying at Raith by virtue of Dundee missing the deadline to recall him. Do we think Megwa would have a similar clause/deadline or am I being too optimistic?

With loans it's really done on an individual basis.   Some loan deals have all kinds of add ons.   Like if the player can be recalled at anytime or only in transfer window.  Some have guaranteed game time. Ultimately I'd think with our deals it pays long term not to break ties with any club we loan a player from. If he's their player and want him back then so be it.  I'd rather keep the good terms with hibs and maybe get a few more In the future.

  2. Still need the Devenny situation sorted asap.   I get the club and even the lad himself not wanting risk a possible good move.  He's only played a few games as a substitute so that won't help his fitness and development if he's asked to go for trials.   If he's genuinely trying to win a move to any club at a higher level paying more than we can good luck to him.  I'd rather he got his move after having a few championship games with us.

It looked a dive from where I was sitting but TBF, Rae’s reputation does precede him!

I agree it looked like the guy made the most of any contact.  Rae himself didn't really complain it was the same at the other end. O'connor looked like he suckered the defender into the contact.

Before the game I was worried about the defence like others have said.  Must admit I thought the back 4 looked solid.  Dundee passed the ball around well but didn't really do much with it.

Ross County, Inverness, Peterhead and especially Elgin city, to please my Northern Diamond.

    Seriously very little travelling!

    We'll soon know.

I quite agree.    Looking forward to championship football and potential NL cup/preseason game with motherwell more exciting than most of the fixtures the league cup could throw us.   All I really want from cup draws is a game against a team we don't see much.   I find the pots are a bit meh as atleast 2 of the teams we will play we will have played 4 times or more last season or will play 4 times in the coming season.

  5. I'd imagine with the Rico court case the club will have been reluctant to comment.  As said previously the innocent until proven has been applied and salim has still been part of the squad.  It does seem he's admitted it so wether he's told the club the full story I'd think probably not as if he admitted it months ago he should have been straight out the door.    Atleast admiting his wrong doing but the poor lassie having to go through a court to describe it all over again is a disgusting thing for him to put her through.

    Wow.

Can only assume the Djnfermline boys split the vote. He was good but really one of Todd or Benedictus should have got it. Bene for me.

True votes will be spilt on Dunfermline players it will also help gal hit a good run of form going in to the end of the season just around voting time.   He has been excellent all season but really found form from January onwards.    Delighted he got the award for his work rate and now adding goals

  7. Can't really say it's all over but the fat lady is warming up.   Questions for Saturday with josh rae missing and Falkirk showing they can create plenty.   Delighted with tonight and an advantage for Saturday.   That's all we have for now is an advantage we showed that ourselves last year.    Could do with a first half like that again though I'm sure the Falkirk number 2 won't be playing though.

We having a good evening then folks?

Absolutely delighted!!!   Still as we have shown ourselves their is still a lot to play for.  90 more minutes and for a spell in the second-half we looked nervous as the back witch has been a feature this season.   We showed how good we are in full flow.   Excellent to watch going forward and Falkirk looked as nervous as I've seen any team this season.   Still questions for Saturday with out goalie missing.   I'll enjoy tonight but nothing is over just yet.

  9. Team capable of winning a play off semi against a good Falkirk side absolutely yes.  Confident in winning Tuesday absolutely not.   The way the play offs have been in recent seasons we are more likely to draw the 1st leg then win the 2nd with an epic performance then not turn up for a final against Alloa.

Like most have said previously I hope we can but don't really think we will.  A title challenge in league 1 next year though.

Just watched the highlights over on the Highlights thread (where else?).  First time I've seen Botterill in action - made a good stop 1st half when the Airdrie striker through 1 on 1, and another good block near the end.  Hard to judge on the highlights alone but he seemed OK.  Three good goals from Queens, although defensively Airdrie won't be happy about the 2nd goal.

Been the story of our season really.    Look very good going forward but some days looks like our defence only just met each other that day.

Referees have almost never cared about a clash of shorts. Mainly because it's not often that the shorts areas causes a debate about which player touched a ball. They insist on different shirt and socks so they can see in a melee which colour touched it, but shorts are almost never a factor. There's never been any rule not allowing a clash of shorts.

That said, the occasional referee also gets picky about it. We had one last year who twice made us change from white shorts v Hamilton as they also had white shorts. In my experience though, (about 12 years of negotiating colours with refs and opposition) pretty much every other ref couldn't care less about shorts. The likes of Rangers, Celtic Hearts, Hibs all play in white shorts against each other regularly.

There's absolutely no rule that says the ref can't wear the same colours as either side's keeper. They try to avoid it if possible but it's not always possible depending what options each side has. It's pretty unusual for refs to be anywhere near either goalkeeper on the pitch (they very rarely run into a penalty area during open play) so if need be they will wear the same as a GK. They prefer the two opposing keepers to have different kits in case the game gets to a stage where one keeper comes up for a late set piece in the other box. They'll prefer for their own kit to clash with one keeper than for both keepers to wear the same.

And subs are never allowed to warm up without a bib of some sort on. The sub GK should have had one on even if he was wearing a colour different to the on field keeper.

Thank you for clearing that up.  I always believed this was a rule with regards to kit clashes with the referee.   1st time seen it as usually their is obvious difference.

Yeah wasn't at the game and was not aware of that rule.

The reason for my original post on this is for me it's a basic rule in football.   I see on TV team or goalkeeper kits and referee kits looking similar but their is usually some difference like shorts or even just sleeves.   Today they both wore all black their is previous instances in lots of games this has caused problems.   It may be its all on the ref or if both teams agree its not an issue.   The biggest example I can remember was a Scotland England game around 89/90 Peter Shilton had to wear a Scotland top as his goalkeeper top was the same as the ref.
