Didn't Hamilton go back in to defence?
I'm not sure I understand you right. Are you criticising the ref for wearing all black?
Before the game he surely would have noticed he was wearing the same all back kit as the Dunfermline goalkeeper. So to pause the game to have a player warming up be told to change his colours this will be make him different from the playing goal keeper when the referee is wearing the exact same. Then unless their has been a rule change in not aware has happened then this is a very basic error. Only pointing out it was not the only thing he got wrong today.

The referee certainly had an influence on the game. Some strange decisions either way and to pause the game as he was probably the only person who noticed/cared the Dunfermline sub goalie didn't have a bib on but failed to notice he was wearing all black himself.

Both team will be going to Saturday with confidence. Alloa being the home team should be looking to win. The main thing with airdrie in recent weeks is the difference having josh rae back has made to the defence. Previously most mistakes were costing goals. Certainly has made a difference to the confidence. I don't predict a spade load of goals this week I settle for a tight 2 - 1 away win.

With the big kit clearance in the club shop, does this mean they’re clearing the decks of Umbro stuff & hence the end of Umbro x Airdrie, or are they really struggling that much to get rid of that home kit?
I for one didn't buy this season as for the first time in years I don't like the home top and the red away is absolutely horrible. I don't mind about a sale but will be waiting for next season to buy. It won't have helped overall sales with strips even for the first team being released so late.

Well done Airdrie a proper humping the day , some clinical finishing from you guys and utter dugshite from us
Considering how the first half hour went certainly not a result anyone expected. One of the games for us to show what we are capable of. Kelty started well and the fact the kept attacking gave us a bit more space to play. Delighted with the result. We just need to back it up nextweek against a team who will probably sit in a bit. Kelty definitely not the worst team. Cardle was excellent.

You're surely not meaning the incident where McCabe lifted his hands and pushed him in the face?
Watch it back on the highlights.
It says it all when none of his team mates reacted. The only one Watson to tell him to get up. It happened right infront of his manager who didn't complain. As soon as he realised the ref did buy it he was straight up. He was bumped yes. On the shoulder. No need for the need to react like he'd been hit wae a brick. But to be fair he does look like it.

Can't really complain with the end result. Missed penalty, midfield slow in passing forward, mcgill wrong decisions in good positions. Overall a poor performance.
Falkirk definitely a different than last year. Seemed to have a spare man out wide all afternoon. Created more today than the last 5 times we played them.
Naismith is a contender for the best player in the league and was excellent today but I'm sure when he sees the replay of him getting bumped from the side and throwing himself on the deck holding his face he himself will see how much of a fanny he looks. Hope his manager speaks to him about that.
On to mextweek in our quest to lose the play off final as usual.

The penalty save was brilliant and I’m a real sucker for the badge thumping/kissing stuff after the game (more of that please). Celebrating the penalty save before the ball went out of play was also a good laugh. But I don’t fancy 90 minutes of Hutton next week! He looked like he could barely run when he came on and he had more than a couple of spills. There would also be the bizarre situation of another coach being on the pitch rather than in the dugout. I assume/hope we will sign an emergency loan. Murray Johnson would be ideal but if not I’m sure another young Premiership goalie would suffice. Looking forward to Hutton getting sent off and Liam Prunty having to come on.
As long as we don’t sign bloody Dean Lyness…
Good point something I hadn't considered. What would have happened if prunty had called the ref a c u next Tuesday and got sent off? If we can't get anyone and have manager, assistant manager and goalie coach all on the pitch is 1 guy on the side ok? Not that prunty or hutton do much most Saturdays

Tell your Section B to lay off the Norrie stuff. Absolute cretins.
Talk about being stuck in the past!! I also have never heard anyone mention this in the last 20 years. Nobody cares about you, norrie or poorly maintained gas appliances.

That is in England. A straight red for dangerous tackles and violent conduct is 2 in Scotland.
I'm pretty sure it's only one for a handball, denying goalscoring opportunity type incident.
I got it from the spfl page

Apologies I didn't see properly. Didn't realise it was for handball. Still will be a big miss for next two.

As much as the manager does deserve time. We need to be looking at our teams ability to change tactics and shape in a game. When the flow or the game goes against us we don't have the ability to adapt to game changes.

I agree with the posts above. We don't seem to be able to change shape and still don't have anyone on the bench that can come on and impact a game. At 3-2 everyone around me was saying the defence needed to change. We just looked more and more nervous as the game went on. And now we lose smith for 3 games.

Glad you enjoyed the win. Maybe you will see a win for your own team at some point.

I wonder if our away game to Clyde at the end of March will be moved? Currently overlaps with the Scotland v Cyprus game.
Most likely kick off time will be moved. Did the same not happen last season and we moved the kick off to 1 o'clock?.

I am trying to think back, was it just a one day tournament (sunday), watched it religiously back in the day... Good fun
Present day 6 s
Hutton
Ballantyne
Fordyce
Telfer
Frizzell
Smith
Was 2 days. 12 teams split into 2 groups of 6. Each team played each other once. 1st in group 1 played 2nd in group 2 in semis. The 2 winners made the final.
Also airdrie played in 1994 in think as the only 1st division club as rangers declined to take part. We were top of the old 1st division at the time and made the final

I've been saying for years to bring back the 6es. I was their with my dad when I was 11. The thing I remember most apart from airdrie being the decent on the pitch and most of the crowd were airdrie fans. And that airdrie strip is still my favourite.

For the Alloa game? It’s on the 28th, unless I’m missing something we don’t have a game tomorrow.
Cheers mate. Own goal from me there. Changed work schedule at start of the year. Forgot about Scottish cup weekends.

Anyone know when the tickets will become available for tomorrow? Still no link on club page to buy tickets.

From the reaction of handling then the Edinburgh bench they acted like they just won the champions league. Quite bizarre to run to airdrie fans cupping ears like he was getting abuse the whole game. Fair enough they got 5he goals to win the game but maybe save it for when you actually win a trophy.
Good to see josh rae on the bench. Sooner Lyness is out the better. He's cost too much already and its obvious he guy has no confidence in his ability to catch a ball.

OK not sure if you were at the game but the Dunfermline goalkeeper was wearing all back. So was the ref. He then stopped the game to make the Dunfermline sub goalie change as he had a black top on as he warmed up behind the goal. Before a game starts the ref is not allowed to wear the same colours as a goalkeeper of either side. Previously this has lead to a ref wearing a bib or a goalkeeper borrowing a top for the other side.
