  1. There’s plenty ways to look at it. Personally I think that pyramid is definitely best going forward but each club ultimately has to go for what they and the fans want as well as what they can manage. Also my opinion is my opinion and that’s all, I have spoken to few West Lothian clubs and unless things change it looks like they’ll remain. Lochore could go either way and still have plenty travelling. They would lose the Scottish junior cup though which usually is the best gates for most non league teams, that’s all dependent on if they West region teams go or not. I think there won’t be any change really til the deadline closes.
  2. They’d probably be better going juniors one last season before the inevitable when everyone gets lumped over. 30 mins every week probably more reasonable than chance of a fife team a few times a season and long trips to borders and also other clubs in the east region, they’ve got to look at what they will achieve, will the basement boys here go and win the conferences, I think not but crossgates did have an excellent first season eos. That’s just my opinion though, ultimately they will decide. I’m sure if you looked at last two seasons for the someone as big as Arniston for example, I Would struggle to believe any benefit they’ve found, they could’ve probably competed better in junior ranks.
  3. There’s every chance that’s what will happen but time will tell.
  4. I wouldn’t count your chickens before your eggs. You’ve probably heard what’s proposed for the region. I won’t say what it is out of respect, but I’ve certainly heard a few concrete plans/rumours for the east region.
  5. I see lots about WRSJFA, not much else been said about ERSJFA and NRSJFA. I’ve only heard most Fife teams leaving for Eos the rest staying juniors?
  6. Any more on the east teams staying or going’s
  7. I have no clause in place but for the reasons I have heard I think respecting the confidentiality of what happened is best for both the club and Jc. Maybe a a change is needed, they have not suffered greatly this season though as have had a good year so far and in contention to win things. They got a cup final last year also which shows they were right to stay, however with far fewer clubs in league their hand may be forced to move now. I can’t say what will work best for their club as I’m not sure what the future holds. Musselburgh however have taken a few steps forward. They had good momentum from winning the premier season before move then finishing well last year so club will do well, only time will tell how long they can compete with the big boys. Also for somethings it’s better not knowing and just letting those in charge live by their decisions as it’s their club not the fans of others. I’m not taking anyone’s side here though. I know many clubs have benefitted from moving, some not as much.
  8. Good statements from both JC and club, I heard bits and pieces and if it’s true I feel that Jc acted with most integrity and that has to be commended. Also wish FuFc all the best for the season. Hopefully they can finish on a high regardless of what grade they choose to play, they are still a club with fans who are passionate about them and are still streets ahead of a good few teams in their area/region (juniors or seniors) despite not moving this year.
  9. I’ve no heard Anything on this, looking at their signings though will have a decent outfit for either prem juniors or eos conferences to be sure. Few well known names and some young players too.
  10. The future of junior football thread has been good so far, but I’ve not enough time to catch up. Can someone pop a list of any teams they know who’ve committed or hinted towards the pyramid here. Any regions: West/East/North
  11. That’s exactly it. As a player, I’d have to assess what teams would be in the league, would it be challenging or not etc. Will it benefit me in the game etc. I’m not a west region player, but would definitely take this into consideration if I was.
  12. Pretty obvious what people want. I’m all for the juniors but now it looks like they may want to move. For a few hundred vote it’s a massive percentage. Do clubs want to stay and hope players do as well, unless they are paying them silly money the pyramid is the way.
  13. I would go for premier with current promotion system for this season. Those relegated and in top 7 of each conference go and become first division. And if most east region teams come over have a similar set up in regards to inter conference with lower ranked teams and new teams to associations, I.e. craigroyston playing in kirkcladys league. Would give the so called lesser teams of each leagues to have closer games and will allow every club to play a new team etc. Again adopting same promotion method to first division that’s currently used. After first season go 2 up from first to prem and 3rd v 3rd bottom in playoff. It’s almost a certainty clubs moving now. I think it’s case of who doesn’t want to be left behind.
  14. I’ve created a poll on twitter folks if you wish to submit an answer, it’s very one sided so far, feel free to vote or share it. Will give a good accurate answer and put some figures against all those in favour of moving to pyramid or not. I’ll post results tomorrow.
  15. I completely get your point. The super league attendances have been good for the so called smaller clubs, but it’s effectively a cert that teams will move now as no other option.
  16. 100% more of this needs to happen
  17. I see your comment but looking at the league table there’s no big fishes in a small pond. As it’s not like they’ve ran away with the league, they do have rich histories but it’s not counting for anything at the moment. Bathgate also recent junior cup winners in last 20 years
  18. No fife teams. Reading between lines though, if any more fife goes I reckon the rest in east will as will have no choice to be left behind, well for the long established junior clubs. Unsure about boness and Linlithgow, will need to see what they say.
  19. I would say definitely the correct approach as no doubt juniors will get lumped in regardless at some points, so can be a shortcut for ambitious clubs.
  20. I see why the answer appeals to you to be east of Scotland, and both leagues are ambitious however as both a step up from amateurs, just in the manner of facilities and how they are run and how they don’t pay to play etc. Juniors may not be what it used to but I’d say it’s still better than amateurs. There is not a huge gap between top amateurs and lower places junior sides. East of Scotland sides as well.
