  1. Um Bongo is not generally drunk in the Congo, except by one man who imports it at extreme personal costs.

The general stalemate of trench warfare was a direct result of a misunderstanding of the offside rule during a game on Christmas Day 1915.

Nobody told the troops that the game was over.

  2. Similar situation to you but I've found that in the last few months it helps to just put issues into a box, of sorts, and just say f**k it that's only one small part of life and if it's not happening then don't let it destroy everything else.

Not easy to do but it helps for me anyway.

  3. Had a weird one about the start of the Gulf War or some war.

Somehow Saddam Hussien was back and running Iraq and before another war was about to start there was a buildup of troops waiting on the border. For some reason I was invited into some sort of control centre that was more like a coorporate box, and everyone was laughing and joking about the weapons of mass destruction that Saddam had. A countdown started then lots of nuclear bombs went off in the distance. I called John Precott a twat and walked out. The local Asda store was next door so went in there.

  4. Illuminati confirmed.

Pipe down with that one. England could end up winning but they're not going to "demolish" anyone at all any time soon.

Eleven is a one and a one, one and one is two. There were two towers in nine eleven. Nine eleven happened in September. Black September happened in Munich. Munich has a football team called Bayern, Robben plays for Bayern and is Dutch.

    Spooky! Luminarty is confirm.

  5. Was it not the case that Hanley's yellow wasn't a red card offence because Shane Long was never going to get to the ball anyway? If it'd given it a wee tap past Hanley he'd have surely been off I would've thought?

Personally I think Steven Fletcher gets far too hard a time on here. Yeah he never scores for Scotland but I'd keep playing him even if he never scored, quite a few times tonight he put one of the wide players in behind quite effectively.

Really the only two players in that line up who I don't like the idea of them playing are Hanley and Whittaker. Before the game I'd have possibly said Maloney isn't a great player these days but he's certainly had an effective campaign so far.

Hanley, first one could of been a harsh red. If it was the other way round we would have shouted for it. He punched the 'keeper, albeit maybe accidentally, at the corner too. Deffo two yellow cards even with a lenient ref. Also reckon Naismith probably elbowed O'Shea, he's got a track record of it and O'Shea doesn't seem like the type to cheat?

I do like Fletcher but if I was being greedy would like to see us have three quality strikers because there's bound to be one game where they drop form or get injured but as said its just being a bit greedy. Can't remember the last time we had two guys playing and scoring in the EPL?

Whittaker isn't a great defender tbh and this was demonstrated when he tried to beat someone on the byeline. Hanley is ok but needs a leader beside him and I don't think we have that, similar to the strikers. Not much depth that I can think of.

    Hope we stay injury free.

  6. I hated O'Neil's style of play at Celtic, big guy upfront, big defenders, couple of wingers and lots of physical play.

Thought we out thought them and I don't blame Mulgrew for making the most of some challenges to win clever free kicks. Their reaction to it was horrendous and the ref was a bit lenient at times. Fortunate for us too with the Hanley incidents.

Up until now I doubted if we had the real fight, bottle and belief to qualify but reckon with this bunch of players and Gordon we have a real chance.

Delighted to have been proved wrong and think we have a chance of beating Poland at home and Ireland away which would probably be enough to see us through. Slight concern about bigger players bullying us like Walters did today, could do with finding another strong centre half and a target man for games like tonight as I feel Naismith and Fletcher are quite similar in stature but that's just being greedy.

  7. Been on the whey protein since Monday, also upped my calories to 2500. Cut down carbs to 40%.

I think I wasn't eating enough, definitely have more energy.

Thinking about getting another piece of equipment for home gym rather than going to one, spent some money on it so want to get some back.

I reckon with six months of good diet and going up the weights a bit I can get stronger even if it's just mainly isolation stuff. Can lifting your own bodyweight i.e. squats, pressups and the like be almost as good as compound?

Again any advice would be appreciated.

  8. Been reading a bit about the Human Genome Project (#HGP) and how the possibility of editing human genes to help eradicate genetic disorders isn't too far off.

It got me thinking that if the scientists could identify the #DeceGene then every child could be born with deceness imbedded in their very genetic make-up. DNA would become #DeceNA.

What a time to be alive.

If everyone was a #solid10 how could you be a #solid10?

There may still be some sort of vvvv undece Morelock type race living underground in caves that were simply too far gone to decefy.

Possibly sevconian in origin and permaraging.

  9. Yeah, agree about Spence. Forgot about him, we have so many midfielders but ultimately lack fight and physicality at times.

To break them down into categories.

    Defensive mid

    Spence, Geggan

    Wide

    Stirling and Chemin

    Central ball winner and battler

    Ryan Thomson Falkingham

    Passer, playmakers luxury type players

    Forbes, Bryne

I think it would help to pick a team in terms of a balanced system using different types of player. JJ seems to just use Falkingham, Geggan and Spence regardless of the opposition. Maybe against more physical sides we should use Ryan, Spence and Forbes? Byrne is excellent with the ball when he has time and space he will destroy the opposition but this isn't very often. More than often he disappears, so does Josh and this season Geggan also.

Might be worth letting Byrne go out on loan and bringing in a good defensive leader?

  10. In similarly remarkable scenes, we just scored from a cross from Chemin, this wing play malarky is great, Jefferies should definitely try it.

The annoying thing is we now have four or five potential wingers, Whittle, Williamson, Fais, Stirling and Chemin.

I would play this team on Sat.

    Scully

    Williamson Urquart Buchanan Whittle

    Ryan Thomson or Geggan

    Chemin Forbes Or Falkingham Stirling

    Smith Fais

Several players need dropped and we need to give Chemin a chance in a full game. To me Forbes and Falkingham should be in the middle, not out wide.

Geggan isn't the player he was and Moffat needs a rest. Williamson and Whittle makes the team balanced and with wide players in front of them, who knows we might even try something crazy like an overlap!

We need to find our best team soon, but I don't think JJ will change much.

Also when Williamson runs up the line will someone please attack the front post, he puts it there every time!

    JJ team will be

    Scully

    Millen Martin Buchanan Whittle

    Geggan Falkingham Spence Bryne

    Moffat Fais

No width, too many defensive central midfielders and a front two that doesn't really work.

Edit forgot to add 'or' between Josh.
