Did anyone notice when clyde scored the 2nd  Neil parry giving it towards the alloa dugout  ?

    quite right too .

Barry ferguson will hang on till he is pushed , he knows that if he walks away his managerial career at a decent level is  over .

Yes I did notice that mate, he really enjoyed it and who could blame him the way he was treated by ferguson. Ironic he plays a blinder and the guy replacing him is at fault for the 2 goals, what was he thinking ay the 2nd, I said to my mate look at the room Huttons leaving, and the free kick wasn't even near the post it was pretty central and he made an arse of it

We will be stuck with barry until he decides otherwise as he won't be fired

Senna should have been sent off. I didn't think so at the time but watching it back it was a red. However, there was a tackle on Senna in our highlights (at the end) that looked very similar and hasn't been mentioned anywhere. And despite almost 80/20 possession in their favour, Celtic committed more fouls than Alloa.

If these kind of tackles are going to be classed as red cards or even yellow cards  then im afraid were coming pretty close to becoming a contactless sport, sennas went into the tackle expecting a 50/50 but  the boy has pulled and didn't fancy it, After winning the ball senna has no control over his momentum and unfortunately catches the boy, The fact he wins  the ball so cleanly and wasnt over the ball for me makes its a great tackle, never a yellow never mind a red

  3. The signs of desperation coming from the alloa dugout on Saturday was evident, every time Hutton got the ball you could hear Barry shouting "early early" trying to get a long ball up to Henderson, Dire to watch,

For a 15 minute spell in 2nd half alloa played ok but the rest of the game was a painful watch and if this is the tactics of a manager who was so good as a midfielder to want to miss out the midfield is bizarre, he obviously has no faith in the players he signed

It won't get any better as who is going to want to  join Alloa in a relegation battle or play under this management

  4. I think gilmore can do a half decent job as a ball winning midfielder and giving it to a more creative player beside him, all too often his passing is either sideways or back the way and he was being asked to do the playmaker job and I don't think that's his game,

I also don't think it helped with Henderson up top on his own as he doesn't try hard enough to find space and offers little movement which must really annoy a midfielder, that said Hendo's had a decent contribution but would be better with someone up  beside him, and too me thats glaringly obvious

Ironically Howie left Clyde because he didn't want to be in another league 1 relegation fight.

Did seem a bit of a strange move considering he signed when Alloa didn't have a manager in place. He's a decent centre half for league 1 no surprise to read that Ferguson is playing him in midfield instead emoji1787.png

Aye and we've  still not got a manager in place 🙈

  6. Barry ferguson is everything a manager shouldn't be, he's tactically inept which i find remarkable given the managers  he's worked under, Also his body language is terrible, his encouragement towards the players is non existant, you just have to look at the way he reacts to a player being subbed, no handshake, no fist pump, no pat on the back, might sound a bit trivial but these little things make a difference imo.

I'll also give you a personal example, My son plays for under 11s young wasps and earlier in the season when the Airdrie game was cancelled my sons team just finished their game at the recs and Barry and Bob had the players in for training and were setting up drills, I went over to Barry and asked if they wouldn't mind a picture with the boys, he agreed to it but with little enthusiasm. I also expected him to have a few words with the boys but nothing, my own son actually said to me "  Dad he didn't even speak to us", I made the excuse that he was busy and maybe he was but a few words would have been nice.  On to another situation where on Thursday night my son had a training session and Andy Graham came out the Gym and had 5 mins to talk to the boys who were in the pods  and telling them to stick at it and watched their progress and encouraged them, This cast my mind back to the situation with Barry earlier. It told me alot about Barry and convinced me even more about the type of guy Andy Graham is, He's a manager in the making

If Alan Trouten is indeed out of favour at Alloa, Danny Lennon should be bursting his hoop to get him signed up to play in behind Goodwillie. Same with the other Alloa legends, I'd take any of them at this point I think.

Thats where I'd be playing him instead of senna for alloa, he's very good at finding space and linking up well and makes decent runs into the box, Barrys got Henderson playing up front on his own but his work rate is not good enough to do that and needs someone round about him, that is one of the reasons I don't think he'll make it at hearts or that level unless he changes that,

It's crazy isn't it? Slightly tongue in cheek, but falling out with Parry was the best thing BF has done for us.

We should be all over some of the players he'll no doubt want rid of in January.

Didn't even fall out with him mate, just stopped giving him the time of day and dropped him with no explanation, tells you all you need to know about him

  9. Poor result and seem to be devoid of ideas how to break teams down, the 2 in the middle of the park are not working, senna is a passenger in the team for me, The odd wee things he does are nowhere near enough, His positional sense is bad, he needs guided through a game from the side to the extent I heard ferguson having to tell him to make himself available for a throw in, sorry not at this level and the more a player gets that they then stop thinking for themselves,

We need someone in beside gilmore who is going to create something as its just across the park and back to the defenders who are the ones attempting forward passes, I would have Trouten in there instead of senna but God knows whats happened to him

The move to take boyd off was a mystery when you're chasing a game, he had the beating of that full back when he got 1v1 and perhaps Robbo should have been sacrificed.

Barry doesn't know how to change or play a different system and to me he is a classic example of how a great player doesn't make a good manager, The board have got to be starting to think about making a change but they seem to be loyal too managers and give them a chance

Where to park at Recreation Park (to give it it's correct name) these days?  It's been a while since I was last there and the blaes area where we used to park (between the ground and the fire station) now has a Lidl on it.

Think the main entertainment from our point of view will come from the Hutton-baiting.  He is rather sensitive.

If you go further along past Mcdonalds there is a Morrisons and B and M, you can park there with no fuss,

Regarding Hutton he's perhaps mellowing a bit with age and  maybe sees the humour in it now , although watch this space as he is capable of losing  the plot at any point .

Could be interesting with Neil parry in goals at the other end who'll get a bigger welcome than Hutton thats for sure

  11. The  alloa midfield is really poor for me nowhere near enough creative ability in there, the 2 creative players are stuck out wide making little impact in the game , the amount of times Hendo was coming off the defender and wanting the ball into feet and not getting it was frustrating, Gilmore and king just didn't see it and just seem to want to go backwards, I would have brought cawley more central  n took king or senna off and put boyd on earlier but as usual its throw sammon on at the end hoping to get on the end of something

    Goalkeepers signed - 4

    Centre backs signed -4

    Full backs signed - 3

Goals conceded to 20 of November - 25

We are playing our best midfielder now at left back to plug the gap . Just nowhere near good enough and a real worry now about getting relegated again .  A shafting next week against a team that is currently romping their league and scoring many many goals could be the last straw .

Yer right and  senna is nowhere near good enough, granted he'll win the odd strong tackle here and there but his positional play, awreness and distribution is not good enough, Barry is trying to coach him through the games from the side by telling him basic moves that he shouldn't need to be told.

Need more in middle of thepark, Boyd is another that frustrates me, does alot of good things but very rarely an end product,

Could be a nervy 90 mins next week

He is f@*#n murder but I am one of very few Alloa fans who realises how much a liability he is!! Easy target for opposing teams every week but hey he's a great guy.🤔😐

Don't know what it is with mendy but he tries to let the ball run by him and tries blocking the path of the opponent, he gets caught out with this move alot and others mind you, Andy Graham must be sitting theyre in stand wondering what is going on

Didn't see what mendy for the red card but someone said he squared up with his head and if thats the case he has to go by letter of the law.

Theyre will have to be a change in the middle of the park for alloa as not enough creativity and Niang is nowhere near good enough,

Having just compared the Falkirk highlights, they cut out our chances and replay shots that are way wide to fit in their commentary - if you're not paying attention looks like they had double the chances.

When we get to the penalty they say "3rd handball shout in this game for Falkirk" when the other two cannon off people's chests. Alloa never claimed but they might've had a penalty off Hetherington's handball.

I wonder if that's a contributing factor to Falkirk fans rage - the propaganda wing has built them into some Ubermensch, it must be galling to see reality.

I did see they were a bit one sided , if you listen you can just hear them say that senas frustrations when hetherington clearly pulled him down round his shins was because he missed the earlier chance 🤣🤣

  15. Points a fair result i would say although falkirk might feel aggrieved on the amount of possession they had.

Thought gilmour, sena and howie were poor today especially sena, and couldn't believe scougall made way for cawley as we were screaming out for creativity In the middle  as they're was not enough composure on the ball and 2nd to every ball, its a good job our defence was pretty solid throughout,

Alloa clearly created the better chances in the game so a draws about fair id say and Henderson strikes again although it was a bit of a sclaf.

Was right in front of me and was a clear hand ball. Think the Alloa players were raging because they didnt look like conceding prior to that, rather than for the award itself. The ref was absolutely howling all game though

They were raging because hetherington clearly pulled sena down in the middle of the park just before the penalty was given, im not disputing it was a penalty however

  17. Falkirk cant be as the fans are making out, they're right in the mix so can't be doing too bad,

If alloa can play to their capabilities I think they'll get something out the game, but you still get the feeling things can turn for the worst with them, although I do believe they have a match winner in Ewan Henderson who's more than capable of playing at a higher level

    I'll go for a draw

  18. If sena comes back in it won't be at expense of cawley, he was Alloa's top player last week. I think he'll come in for howie who again did ok last week as well so might keep his place,  Robbo should also continue at left back

Henderson is another who should come in for sammon on last week's showing but having been at the previous encounter alloa caused more problems when sammon came off the bench.

I'll go a narrow win for the wasps here

To be fair, the draw at Alloa was a worse result than this. Alloa were very decent and, say what you like about Bazza, he got his tactics spot on. Cawley and Boyd were outstanding. Gilmour should have been off but was immense.

Red card? I think you'd find it would be in the English Premiership with the cameras there. That was brutal.  But this isn't the English Premiership.

Decent shout for the handball penalty claim; the ref was close but let's give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was unsighted.

We were slower than a week in the jail at the back and it's a massive reality check for us. We've done well to stay top whilst results have gone our way elsewhere, but we really need to stand up and be counted, starting next week at Cove.

I won't join in the criticism of Wullie Muir too strongly, he was left exposed too often. We need to have a rethink how we're going to protect the space in front of the centre of defence.

Although I'm not Barry's biggest fan I think it was a smart move playing cawley in beside Gilmour as I thought he was alloa best player, he worked hard at breaking up play and was always in support in attacking sense, he's a clever player Cawley and I often think the only reason he's not played at a level higher is he's just not strong enough  on the ball at times but I'm glad we've got him

When Gilmour made the tackle I thought a red would have been shown so alloa got off with one there I think,

The hand ball could easily have been a penalty and there was one in the 1st half where alloa could have had one as well .

I though queens were very decent midfield to attack and some of theyre passing and  moving 1-2s were impressive

Regarding youre keeper I don't think he done much wrong and wasnt at fault for any of the goals as  3 of them were good finishes and the header landed right in the corner, you could say a man on the post would have cleared it but that doesn't happen now,

Only negatives for alloa was I felt mendy was ball watching a bit for the 1st goal and didn't track the striker, and the keeper was at fault for the 2nd and 3rd goals with being too slow to come out and shut down especially at the 2nd goal where he would have collected the ball with a bit to spare,  But a massive 3 points for alloa as a queens win would have taken them 12 clear, if alloa can get a run going theyres no reason why they can't be up challenging instead theyve been dealing with all sorts of problems on and off the park and its been a bit stop start

  20. That was a great game of football today A draw would have been a fair result if being honest but take the win, hopefully alloa can kick on from this, good performances all over the park, only negatives I would say was mendy caught ball watching for the 1st goal and goalkeeper at fault for 2nd an 3rd goals by being too slow to come off his line although to be fair he had a couple of good saves and im sure he got a touch on a free kick that hit the post.
