I think Cormack's primary backing will be signing the two coaches Glass wanted - Scott Brown and Allan Russell. They won't be cheap.

We may even see a few Atlanta 2 players arriving on loan. Aberdeen will probably try and share resources with Atlanta to help us through this pandemic.

I genuinely don't think we'll make that many signings. Despite a large amount of deadwood set to leave at the end of the season we will still have a decent nucleus to the squad (McCrorie, Campbell, Fergie, Lewis, McLennan etc).

Declan Gallagher and a decent forward might sign but apart from that I think the replacements will come in the form of promoting youth players. Bruce Anderson has also been offered a new contract. I hope I'm wrong.

Hopefully if we are loaning Atlanta Utd. 2 players, the saving grace would be that Glass will be familiar with them & there isn't a repeat of Gallagher.

I also hope he can back up his claims about player development and bring some of the young players on.

Bit harsh on Anderson though, it seemed he pissed on his chips with McInnes because of the Covid-8 thing and was frozen out, going by his comments on feeling wanted at Hamilton.

The problem with Ash is he thinks he's better than he is IMO. Leads to some horrendous errors but for the most part he good.

Another thing to bear in mind is a player with his genetics would be nowhere Aberdeen if he was even a bit better than he is.

Yep, fantastic in the air, but has his moments where he thinks he's Lothar Matthaus, increasing the risk of hairy moments if playing out from the back.

No idea what good looks have to do with football ability though.

I think it would be a gamble that I personally wouldn't want to be taking on Griffiths, but just because he hasn't got himself fit for Celtic doesn't mean he can't for anyone else.

I think it's been well documented how poor the coaching has been at Celtic so that may be a factor. He maybe just needs a different mentor or motivation to get him going. I'd say it's unlikely but not impossible.

It would be too much of a risk given Glass' relative inexperience as a manager. There would also be question marks around the possibility of Griffiths thinking that he would get the same level of indulgence at Aberdeen that he received at Celtic with Brown as assistant. We're not fortunate enough to be able to fund a sabbatical.

I've been wanting Griffiths to get back to his best for years and I really wouldn't want to pre-judge his situation but...........I just get the perception he doesn't seem to want to help himself, from a purely football perspective anyway. If he's not willing to get himself fit and firing for Celtic why would he suddenly turn up and do so for us?

I don't think Griffiths is up for football anymore. If he can't get in shape and motivated playing for one of the biggest clubs in Europe he certainly wouldn't playing for Aberdeen.

That's what it boils down to. If he can't do it for Celtic, he won't do it for us.

Absolutely we do. Campbell undoubtedly has potential but a mentor in someone like Brown would really help him and other youngsters develop further. Campbell would excel alongside Brown in midfield.

We need an enforcer (similar to when Barry Robson initially signed for us) in our side. Lewis would be stripped of his captaincy and Brown will take over. It would be a huge coup for the club.

I think McCrorie may feature in defence a bit more under Glass allowing Ferguson, Campbell and Brown to all play in the middle. I'd argue that would be as strong as any midfield outside the OF. Furthermore, I don't think Ferguson will be sold in the summer. Not with Brown potentially joining.

That makes sense to me as a football argument, but I think I might be the same about Brown as others were about McInnes, in that I don't think I'll ever warm to him.

I suppose I should be grateful that a worldwide anti-racism movement has now led Brown to support those affected by racism, rather than publicly defend a racist.

From maybe mid August to early November, we were more than decent and playing with a bit of style not seen since maybe 2017.

In fact, it's the most contrasting season I can recall.

It's good that Glass will get a look at what he's got for a few games, as McInnes did in 2013, but other than that - sooner it's over the better.

Yep, I think that the contrasting season was McInnes ' undoing, especially as his strongest suit was his consistency.

There was a lot of bad luck involved with the injuries to Watkins and Hedges and the loss of Wright, the latter two having a freakish level of understanding, attacking wise. The sale of McKenna definitely had an impact on the defensive stability of the three at the back, but it was on McInnes to change things when this stopped working and he didn't.

Glass is left with a core of experienced players in Lewis, Considine, McGeough and Hayes, alongside Ferguson, McCrorie and Campbell as more established younger players.

Do we need Scott Brown on the pitch to share his experience? Would he not be hindering Campbell's game-time by doing so? Not to mention his repeated and widespread backing of Tonev.

Biscuits is the go to man today for reaction on Hearts getting booted out the cup.

A few memorable statements from him:

    "as a previous manager myself...."

"difficult for the fans to trust Neilson again"

"it will be okay for him in the short-term but its the medium to long term he needs to worry about"

    Laser sharp analysis.

That could easily be Neil McCann saying that.
