Good luck to all teams in South today.Hopefully fans back soon.

Absolutely no chance of fans back before a vaccine is found!!! 14 clubs have handed there notice that they won’t compete in the west... Monday night zoom meeting and there is about 5 clubs from the south all agreeing that health and well-being comes before a semi professional tear 6 league..... shut the league and let people survive this pandemic

I think the answer is yes as they play  in one of  leagues which is exempt from restrictions.

So why are Cala brave not allowed to travel from a hot spot and play there second game in D&G?? If players are allowed to travel from said hot spot to D&G

Starts this weekend and they appear to have used a degree of common sense which is rare for them and not included areas where the case numbers are still relatively low

Heard there a few teams in the south that have players signed from the 5 restricted area’s like Saints and uppers can these boys play?

South meeting next Monday night don't think some teams want to play without dressing rooms.

Why would the south have a meeting after the first game of the season?? Saying that listening to Ms Sturgeon just now sounds like announcement tomorrow on what the restrictions are going to be

  6. See the NHS staff in Glasgow ( all be it Daily Record) told to expect a circuit breaker on Friday 7pm.  This Covid-19 has a lot to answer to,  next year is going to be horrendous when the furlough systems ends!! Saying that Mr Trump seems to be fine after getting it last week 🤔🤔💩💩💩

Highland league is going for a sixteen game season, absolutely no need for them to start now anyway.

How many teams are in the south? Wouldn’t be many more games down here. Can’t see November making any difference mind u always a wet cold month

A lot  of zoomers involved with the WOS clubs though.

So what about the highlands league???? To allow the league to start when the R number is at 1,7 is as PearceDuff CF says irresponsible!!!! SFA have announced that no clubs will be fined if they pull out of The betfred cup.

what clubs you claiming to be zoomed mind u?

All other leagues? All remaining leagues in SPFL, Lowland league and EOS leagues start on Saturday. Amateur leagues seem to have started on Saturday past. Of course refs (like players) won't be happy with no changing facilities but I'll bet  most will have agreed to that decision and will just get on with it.

Sorry my mistake, seems the west is having a zoom meeting tue to see if the end of Oct is the right time to start the league, and the highland put back till the 28th Nov at the earliest
anyway let’s hope we can get a season this year

  10. After reading the report from the St Cuthberts manager in the Daily Record it got me thinking🤔🤔

    • When the vote was carried out to start the league on the 10th were the players asked.
    • has it been ratified by the SFA when all other leagues are having there start dates pushed back.
    • are the referees happy with no changing facilities.
    • who is going to police the new legislation from the SFA on the green Zone and a max of 40 people including officials.
    • do clubs having parking capacity for over 40 cars RE- government guidance on single occupancy when driving
    • do the players accept that it will cost them a small fortune to travel to games and training

a lot of questions I know but I would be really keen to hear what the players of Threave, Abbey Vale, Heston, lochmaben who all played in monsoon weather conditions with no shower facilities and had to endure the drive home!!! Think it will be more likely the players who will decide if the league continues.

Were Rangers not allowed to play Leverkusen after Liverpool had played Athletico.....

Yes you are correct Andy, the only difference was Germany wasn't a hot spot at the time like Spain was!! Anyway i am shocked a man from Auchinleck  would be a supporter of the Union after what they did to the mining pits up your neck of the woods.

News of some progress from south of the Border:

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53817206

BBC Sport 18th August, 2020   By Laura Scott

Fans will be allowed to attend football in the seventh tier and below, after the government updated its guidance on recreational team sport events.

Clubs in the leagues below National League North and South will be able to open their gates to spectators for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began.

The decision means a distinction has been drawn between the return of fans to recreational sport and elite sport, where pilots are required before an intended expansion from 1 October.

It comes after more than 30 MPs wrote to sports minister Nigel Huddleston calling for the "urgent return of fans to non-league clubs".

The letter, which was coordinated by former sports minister Tracey Crouch and Dame Cheryl Gillan, warned that clubs "at the heart of our constituencies" could be "lost forever" if an exemption is not granted.

BBC Sport can reveal that the government's return to recreational team sport framework was updated on Tuesday afternoon to draw up protocols for allowing spectators in.

Fans will need to abide by social distancing rules, and spectator groups must be restricted to "discrete six-person gathering limits".

Meanwhile, organisers of events that are likely to attract a crowd will need to put forward a "named person or persons with responsibility for ensuring adherence with these guidelines and ensuring the facility is Covid-19 secure".

They would also need to publish a risk assessment limiting the number of spectators, and assist with the NHS Test and Trace scheme by collecting information from spectators.

The MPs who signed the letter had said that non-league clubs "tend to be supported by those within the town itself" and that average crowds are "in the hundreds".

BBC Sport understands that the Football Association defines elite football as being everything from the Premier League down to National League North and South, which explains why the new rules apply to step three and below.

A campaign using the slogan "#LetFansIn" has gained significant traction among non-league clubs in recent days, while two petitions supporting the cause have received more than 6,000 signatures.

Crouch posted on Twitter: "Football has many wonderful layers but non-league is often at its heart and soul. With fewer fans it's easier to make clubs Covid secure but without them coming back soon their future is shaky so we've written to Sports Minister calling for non-league clubs to #LetFansIn."

She later told the BBC that not allowing fans to attend non-league football "makes no sense".

An FA spokesperson said: "We continue to follow government advice with regards to the return of spectators and are working continuously with the Sports Ground Safety Authority, DCMS and Leagues to seek approval for a safe return as soon as feasibly possible."

My God!! well thank god we are governed by the SNP North of the border. England allowed Liverpool's  game against Athletico Madrid just at the beginning of this pandemic, they then allowed a week long Ascot to go ahead, now they are inviting fans to return to sporting events before wave 2 potentially hits, take it good old Boris Johnson doesn't really care about his fellow English men.

Ahh good ol Queens fans, always so positive 😴

Sorry old Pal, just been a long few months.... On more of a positive not there are trials next week to start allowing some fans to events in England, hopefully something the Scottish Government can also trial.

On another note do we know if the SLO's have had any zoom micro-soft teams meeting with the directors at all?? just wondering if there was anything us fans could help with when we do get the green light to enter back into Palmerston
