  1. Fair assessment Dave. They are decent, if we allow them. We will be up for the challenge. CMon the BUs
  2. aaaahhhhh hahahahaha. takes a different level of stupidity to reach this level... brilliant 8Mile. thank you. so, when I win the raffle, will I be able to afford that villa in Spain? any news on how big Stuart is doing? If for no other reason than the guy's own sanity. long term injuries are a real piece of work on the mental wellbeing of a player, never getting out the bit. Like so many of them, great player and a very decent human being. hoping he is progressing well.
  3. apologies guys, because I know this has been asked and answered, but I cannot see the raffle ticket option. I have the site fully open, no option to scroll left. any ideas?
  4. Game day tomorrow. we will get to watch the lads again. brilliant. as ever, a difficult game. Gala have had a few right good results. We will have to be on our game tomorrow to take all three points ... I believe we can ... and will. C'Mon the BUs
  5. Thanks for the info Hibee and I take my hat off to you. how do you manage to retain all of this knowledge. Keep it up please. I think it is brilliant that there are a few guys (Jambo'ness being another) that have so much in depth knowledge about the inner workings of our beloved game. respect gentlemen.
  6. Fingers crossed on that one. nice we money spinner also, I would assume?
  7. hahahaah. you can have it Bo. as long as we go into the next round. lol
  8. Thanks 8Mile. Won't help us ref. travelling down there midweek with possibly some of the guys having work commitments. Fingers crossed it doesn't affect too many of them..
  9. No mean feat I know Bo, but must be doable. Even to the extent that everyone that asks to be included is allocated a number. We then just work through those numbers until everyone has been at a game, rinse and repeat. Not the most scientific methodology, but a starter. For as much as I am aching to get in to watch the guys play football again, I do not mind sitting out the week(s) where my number is not up. As long as there is a token of us shouting the lads on, even if I am not one of them that week, I would still feel much better. I think it is the not knowing which is the worst. Not knowing when we will all be given the green light to attend our passion, the reason why we get out of bed on a Saturday, our pure enjoyment .... and yes, utter misery also.
  10. Does this move the game automatically to the Wednesday evening (midweek)?
  11. I would be fantastic if some fans, however small in numbers, were allowed back for that game. fingers crossed.
  12. 90 mins away, possibly, from being in the firsts round of the Big Scottish again. Cannot dwell on the No Fans anymore, just depresses me. It will be a good game on Saturday. I can see the boys being right up for this one. Nice wee run, maybe some financial kick back also... all helps. I don't think they stream live so it may be back to the Twitter feed. Maybe we could we ask the Stirling Uni guy to go down? whichever it is, still looking forward to it. C'Mon the BUs
  13. and I think every club would/will do their utmost to adhere to the strict guidelines. why they do not allow even a token amount???? Go mental and punish the ones that break the rules... yes, but give the majority of the clubs the benefit of the doubt. there is no alcohol involved so that cannot be a reason not to. alludes me 8mile.. just dumbfounded.
  14. You are bang on 8Mile. It is however not facts, unfortunately, that the government works with but perceptions. They obviously "trust" them more than us. The positive however, must be .. what it good for the goose. they must eventually offer football fans a similar lessening of the restrictions ..surely.
  15. NINE MONTHS??? Goodness me Dave, It didn't feel that long until I sat down and thought about it. 9 months. that is mental ... and so very sad. The rugby fans - or as the Government will probably see them - the gentlemen fans of the many sporting communities in Britain .., are being allowed in, albeit restricted. This is probably because rugby fans are well educated, can take instructions and are trusted to behave. That is slap in the face of football fans. Reading between the lines .. this is exactly what they are saying. which is utter codswallop. why not allow a really small percentage into our games. give it a few weeks, see how it goes, then up the percentages .. or, as they would have us believe, shut us out again because we are so untrustworthy and reckless ... and we have just proved it. They continually ask us about our physical and mental wellbeing.it is now a known factor. Can they not understand... our mental release, after a hard week's work, is to watch our team. support them, scream and shout, laugh.. and yeah, the occasional tears, which invariably lead to us looking forward to the next week's game with even more fervour. I genuinely believe they think Football it is just our little hobby, somewhere we pop along to to while the Saturday afternoons away. They, the Government, do not realise how important this crazy game is to us. from 7 - 70... It is our passion, it is our whole weekend. it is part of our life, our culture, our very being. Just let a few of us in.. please? I'll take my turn in the queue. I will wait my 2 or 3 weeks to get into the game. just let some of us in, before we all go freakin' mad. sorry guys, got a wee bit carried away. take care.
  16. Hahahaha. am I THAT predictable, hahaha. yeah, Bo. Going to put the Expoxy resin down on the toilet floor - well, start it. 3 coats, 20 hours apart. probably do it over 2 weekends. I have watched so much Youtube for this part of the project. feel like I have done an apprenticeship on it. lol. DEPENDING on the outcome, may post a couple of pics.
  17. Thanks Guys. better nice and early, than waiting half way through the morning, getting your hopes up. crazy thing is, we have all played in much worse weather conditions... always great when you could blame a miss timed tackle on the weather. lol, the positive has to be: time - that allows the injury list, hopefully, to get smaller. have a great weekend gents,
  18. another week, another game. chances of it being on? BBC reckon - Saturday looks to have sunny spells and patchy cloud with the chance of the odd passing shower. It will continue cold but winds diminish in the afternoon. But ,,, no stream....
  19. No arguments here Dave, but those are optimum, the universal remedy, the perfect team.: As yet, doesn't exist. The Brazilians, Germans and most definitely the Dutch have all come close. But at our level, we are always, every game, going to get sloppy/accidental mistakes, we won't always take our chances. 11 fit players ...possibly fit, as in not injured, but match fit? But we, as fans, hope to see a few standard attributes which we think are not out with the realms of every single. signed BU player: Working as a team - most definitely. Putting in a solid shift - This has to be the biggy. You have to be walking on to that pitch and ready to give your all. you cannot leave anything on pitch as you walk off. My personal shout was always - looking in the mirror at the end of the game, no, that didn't work and I should have done this and that.. but - did I try my hardest. could I have done anymore - apart from the mis-controls and the couple of poor passes - have I given my all. This is what the BU players typify. This is what their start to the season has been mainly based on. 11 players giving their all, working for each other, never giving up. That is why it is so sad to read Max's comments, which we have come to know are his honest assessments. But we will pick ourselves up and dust ourselves down ... ready to go again. That 100% commitment will be back for our next game. take care guys.
  20. Just read it Dave. We would love all our players to have ability, speed, goal scoring prowess and lots of experience... but the first and foremost quality has to be... 100% commitment. A sad read. But I would attribute it to Max's honesty and disappointment. and a certainty that it will definitely be addressed.
  21. what a horrible day. Saturday and no football ... at all. have a good weekend gents.
