Has a manager why ru laughing and why would he say that he has no need to in fact its probably true

I’m laughing because it’s not true, I wasn’t even the manager at that point. Kevin was slightly confused all been cleared up, it was 10 years ago.

I’ve been through this nonsense before, I even offered to take a lie detector test to prove my point.

  2. The capacity was cut by around 500, Darvel capacity for the game is 1800 and Falkirk is 900.

Darvel have sold out, I believe Falkirk have very limited numbers of tickets left and will sell out.

As I have said before we appreciate every bit of support we get, we will continue to try and grow the fan base but the club is in a great position off the park we will continue working hard to improve.

The folk with the clickers should be able to tell you or do you only do that for away games?

The accounts should show revenue from attendances. DL when will they be published?

At the end of the financial year for the club, same as any other business.

No it's not. Everybody knows that it's not you can see that when watching the highlights.

Andy I go on the number the club gives me after games, in honesty why would I lie. As I have said the crowd against Petershill was over 300, it was the same the home game before I think Jim actually questioned the number when it was posted.

You are right but I'm taking 300 average over the season including away fans attending obviously some teams will bring more than others but over over the season they probably average around 300

We played Petershill a couple of weeks back, the crowd was just over 300, that obviously varies but we are above 100-150 fans. As I said. If that it matters I appreciate anyone who comes particularly in these times

Mick you are 100% in your comments regarding The Talbot are the benchmark for us all and what we all strive to achieve where we possibly can . Every clu goes through phases and have ups and does that will not change it’s how you bounce back after an upset. There is also no doubt the Darvel are on the road up also despite what many might think and most would swap their position to be where you are in tomorrow nights game if not r they are lying. I know how much professionalism that you are trying to implement into the club and raising the bar higher and the profile for our grade of football all helps. Good luck o you all tomorrow night and no matter the result as a prominent Talbot man said to me after a very famous victory which always sticks in my mind to this day. Boys enjoy your night and saviour the occasion. Good luck to you all

    Thank you mate

So if you sell 2,200 that is below the original capacity so the work wasn’t necessary. If Aberdeen have 400 left they have sold c800. So what is your average home gate. It is in the low hundreds. The work isn’t required for that size of crowd.

The only person comparing Darvel to Auchinleck is your President. He constantly has a go at Talbot and was at it again on Facebook this week. He doesn’t do anything to make your club admired by others. As a Killie fan thank god he isn’t involved with us in any official capacity apart from a sponsor.

The work was required to get the crowd above 2200, it was also about improving the ground as whole.

The obviously varies, but around 300, but your comparing us to clubs that have had years of of success. We are trying to build all aspects of the club including the fan base, it all takes time. But games like tomorrow, help build that connection with the community

So Aberdeen haven’t sold 400 out of a 1200 allocation yet folk were saying Aberdeen would sell out 1750 and take more to Darvel than they took to Killie for a league game between Xmas and New Year. Looks like some folk have got carried away with themselves again. So currently there are c800 Aberdeen fans attending and not the thousands that sone folk expected.  I doubt that Aberdeen are going to sell 400 tickets before tomorrow as anyone based in the North East that wanted to go will already have made arrangements to go to the game. Darvel who normally have about 100/200 fans have sold over 1,000 tickets allegedly but mostly to family and friends. If there are 30 people involved at Darvel on staff etc that’s 33 tickets per person. If it’s 40 it’s 25 people per person.

Looks like the ground works have been a waste of time effort and money as the original capacity would have been sufficient.

It will be interesting to see what the final crowd is but the hype those at Darvel creates knows no bounds.

We have sold nearly 2200 tickets, that will sell out today.

As club we really appreciate everyone who has a bought a ticket to support us.

We have more than 200 fans at home games I can assure you, but that doesn’t that matter. Success isn’t judged on the number of fans you have, but I suppose it’s an easy compare us to Auchinleck and criticise.

Let’s be honest tho they are the benchmark for a community supported club, not just at our level several levels above. They a model of excellence for lower league clubs, I have so much respect and admiration for everything they stand for, something we will all strive to become.

But we need to find out own way, if we can be successful we can grow the fan base, on the of games like Monday it generates more exposure to grow that fan base and generate significant income and more commercial sponsorship.

If anything sums up Darvel it’s the fact that they still haven’t sold out hospitality for this game and even still have normal tickets available. Any other junior club at this stage would have sold out within hours of the release .

The game will 100% sell out there only I small number of tickets left.

The gradient on the banking at Beechwood is half that of the Darvel one and it was dismissed due to having no concrete terracing. How the same council can rubber stamp a 4,000 capacity for Recreation  Park is mesmerising.

That why there is a barrier there and the ground has been dug up and relayed

  12. 11 minutes ago, Killiepiyo said:

So have the police and aberdeens health and safety concerns been addressed then? Unclear from the statement.

As far as the council are concerned there are no health and safety concerns, we have met every required standard for the capacity.

We haven’t been required to do any additional work, I think Colin detailed the works in a earlier post I’m sure.

We didn’t set out to reach any particular capacity figure, we carried out the work as requested to allow us to use the banking. After we detailed all the work we were granted the capacity based on the calculations and health safety requirements used. The same criteria that will used for all grounds at our level.

The capacity of beechwood was cut for the hearts match due to the grass banking beside the stand being unsuitable how the council allegedly gave davel a 4000 capacity beggars belief.

There nothing allegedly about it the ground capacity for the match is 4,000 nothing has changed.

Aberdeen have been given 1750 tickets for their part of the ground, it’s up to them how many they wish to sell.

Doesn’t look like a weight bearing crush barrier too me. And even if they are there only 1 row of them.

pretty sure if the claims from Aberdeen or police Scotland were contesting were not important they’d be instantly dismissed

What are the concerns about flow of fans and what has been put in place to counteract it?  I guess things like clear defined passageway are part of it.   These are simple basics once you want to move into bigger capacities.

As I have already said, all safety aspects in terms of the agreed capacity of 4000 have been met. These request Safety Advisor Group chaired by the council. We have followed all requirements set out, if you read park circus post that will give you an indication of the works. We didn’t set the capacity after all the works were complete it was the council

Your 10 days from a match and don’t know your capacity,  how close to the day do you say your are not scrambling?

You get absolutely zero credit from playing the game at your home ground.  That’s what you should be doing.

Looking at your tweets I’m really unsure what you have done to double capacity,   You’ve built some banking sure,  but it’s not terracing, it doesn’t have a single barrier built etc, absolutely nothing done to change the max 4 deep green guide calculation.

It doesn’t have a barrier ? the full area has been rebuilt and has new barrier around the full area.

We do have the capacity it was calculated by the local authority, it’s 4000 Aberdeen are contesting the flow for their fans. We can’t control that, all these details had been discussed and agreed at previous meetings.

1000 people looking for freebies,  lucky if 10% of them will take a ticket once you tell them to stop being scrounging c***s and pay up.

Licensing is in place for a reason and part of it is so clubs aren’t scrambling around trying to work out how to deal with a big crowd.   There’s many clubs who have shown they can manage with capacity’s lower than they’d like,  I don’t get why darval couldn’t do the same.

They aren’t requesting free tickets, everyone who has requested a ticket will be paying for one that was always the agreement.

We aren’t scrambling, when we made the decision to keep the game at Darvel, we decided the increase in crowd was also an opportunity to improve part of the ground. I see no issue with that it’s all part of the progress of the club off the park, there will be more improvements carried out in the summer

What's your thoughts on the initial darvel capacity being 2250 yet polloks capacity is only 900 now?

Fully understand its not your decision regarding newlandsfield only being 900 but what's your thoughts regarding darvels being 2250 initially and pollok being only 900 when you look at both grounds.  ?

I agree it’s totally unfair on Pollok, unfortunately Glasgow City Council seem extremely difficult to deal with.

what I will say is we have had to put so much more infrastructure to get the ground capacity up

Mate it’s 10 days before the game , I’d imagine Aberdeen fans would want to run buses but they have no idea how many tickets they are getting so how can u do that ? how can that be fair ?
IMO 2250 was more than sufficient for a game live on telly on a Monday night , I’d agree with u if it Was a weekend game 100% there could and would  have been more than 2250 wanting to see game but it’s no

The 1750 was the number agreed after discussion with Aberdeen, they were part of that agreement. There has been several meeting with all parties, on the works and allocated tickets. It was only at the final meeting today to sign everything off they raised concerns, not about the allocation but the flow. The whole ground as been restructured and designed to meet the health and safety requirements agreed by all parties 4 weeks ago. The issue is Aberdeen issue, we have done everything asked of us.

Jim I can assure the 2250 isn’t enough, we have over 1000 requests for tickets for players and committees family and friends. That’s before you take into consideration Darvel fans, Aberdeen fans and neutral fans.
