Ryan McGeever was offered an amount not too dissimilar to that figure in the summer. A 2 year deal at Dumbarton was enough to persuade him to stay but there's no doubt Darvel are offering players £400, possibly more at their top end.

Stop telling lies please, we didn’t trie and sign Ryan in the summer we tried to sign him in the previous summer. I know Ryan he’s a great lad and top player,  he certainly wasn’t offered £400, not one player is on that type of money or has any player been offered it.

To say you want rid of the manager after 10 games is a joke

And if the pieman leaves at least he’s left Darvel a decent park & pavilion the place was a mess before John came to it’s rescue .
be careful what you wish for look what happened to Kilwinning Meadow Glenafton to name a few when the money men pulled the rug from under them

I would say Mick Kennedy puts in more money than Gall. From what I hear what Gall puts in isn't as much as people think. They also have someone in America pumping in money as well.

Andy for what it’s worth mate, and I’m sure people who are on here are or where connected with the club will tell you. I don’t put money into Darvel, firstly there is no requirement for me to do so. Secondly I never would, I wouldn’t want to comprise things if I wasn’t doing well enough I would never want the club to be in a difficult position to get rid of me. And finally if I wanted to invest in a football team, I would do in Glasgow where am from.

Should maybe try that post again , canny make much sense out of it 😁

😂 sorry mate, I’m trying solve a chicken shortage I’ve never been good at doing two things at the same time.

I think I’ve said enough, Hopefully when we meet again there no issues. I have a lot of respect for club, I wish you all the best for the season ahead.

No way I’m on hear trying to make excuses for anybody. Nobody should be getting attacked or fighting at the fitba .

but you’re crazy if you think there was any comparison to the glens goal celebrations and what happened when you scored the winner. As far as replying to the crowd I just thought you could have shown a wee bit more professionalism after what had happened, your team had done well to get the win . Should have been head down and into the clubhouse wi the 3pts in the bag  , maybe worth thinking about ?

If the ref deemed the celebration unacceptable that upto him to deal with, it does excuse the aftermath of what happened.

I took abuse all game, I didn’t say a word back apart from some friendly banter with glens behind our dugout but I accept what was being said to me I wasn’t arguing I just started my point back

I’m no suggesting for a minute that it is pal .

the point I was making was that I’ve never saw a reaction like that before at loch park , darvel staff all over the pitch , fans all over the pitch , darvel  players in the glens technical area ? I wasn’t in the stand so I don’t know who was fighting or who caused it but I’m sure the actions of the darvel staff and players certainly fuelled the fire . Even walking into the clubhouse at the end of the game the darvel manager was still shouting at fans , which I thought might have caused even more trouble .

Let’s be clear about the facts here, when Glenafton scored to go 1-0 up all their players ran and celebrated in front of the Darvel dugout. Two players were booked because of it no reaction from us whatsoever.

When we scored the winner our players celebrated in front of the Glenafton dugout, I believe one of our players were booked. Then all hell broke loose, Glenafton staff member sent off.

The word frightening infers it was a two way thing, the truth is and the video clearly shows 7 Glenafton fans attacking a Darvel committee member.

The issue was clear to see from the outset, large amount of alcohol being clearly drank in the stand. Carry out being carried in a half time.

Celebration to both goals were probably over the top, but if you think that an excuse for what followed then no wonder there been previous issues.

In reference to be shouting as I walked off, I didn’t shout I simply replied to what someone was shouting at me. I can take abuse, in the main it’s light hearted. But what was he said to me was totally unacceptable.

No matter what happens, there in no excuse for people attacking people.

Well done to you and the guys Mick. Lots of good work going on at the park by all accounts.

Thanks mate, it’s great for all the clubs. I love seeing clubs progressing off the park.

Great to see a club like Clydebank after all the challenges it’s faced over the years starting to put the foundations in place to get to we’re they should have always been.

Seeing clubs progressing or working towards their licence is great for the leagues, the players and more importantly the fans and wider community.

Oh mick you do like to blow you’re own trumpet wonder what the papers would think of you’re language on here to folk that don’t agree with you

Well firstly I don’t blow own trumpet in the article I talk about the club.

Secondly Ive had respectful discussions on here several times, with people who disagree with me. He doesn’t disagree with people he's abusive very different.

Thirdly yep me calling someone an idiot will defo be headline news for the news papers

By all means disagree with him but ..... is calling him a ‘fuckin idiot’ really an appropriate response ?
You’re not on here as just another punter .... you’re the Manager of a professional football team ! You can’t switch that off and on when it suits you.

I’m not switching it on or off, I’m pretty comfortable with what I have said. Go back and look at the abuse he has given me

ive got to be careful what i say here as i will get dogs abuse because im no longer at the club so first of all what is happening off the park is fantastic to see and great to see floodlights and a new park being done , i dont need to mention figures here but the budget given to the manager would have been the top one in the league maybe bar polloks as i did it but that was including lottery off approx 300 members , 2 sunday brunches and a sportsman dinner throughout the season , that obviously would not have happened and who knows when it will happen again so there would have been a huge hole needing plugged this season , ive no idea who got paid and how long for this season but ive no doubt that would have been covered by john , its great to hear mick and john say the wages are coming from income coming in but ive a feeling its no accurate and there will be a shortfall as who knows when fans will be allowed in and who knows when functions can take place again  , will the club go into massive profit as john says ? id say no or little chance and the strange thing being and its great they are ambitious but getting promoted into lowland league would see income coming in drop like a stone as maybe 2 clubs will have a travelling support in that league , and no doubt mick will want a bigger budget to try and win that league ,

darvel will never have the backing of the talbot , cumnock , polloks, meadows  of this world , id say max darvel will get without away fans is 250-300 ,and probably most of them are going cause i spoke pish and got them to join the lottery and they got free entry !  ive yet to speak to anyone in the town who wants to see darvel in the lowland league so its catch 22 as far as next season gos , fwiw i hope they  have a brilliant season finish 2nd in the league and continue to play in that league , ive a feeling getting promoted will make the chairman need far bigger pockets than he has already

That my point Jim when the budget was set last season the playing budget was covered by income which you have confirmed.

Now if we still spent that budget your correct John would have to cover the shortfall, but the truth was the budget was reduced and an agreement agreed with the players because of the lack of fans so there was no need to cover a big shortfall. I’m sure every club done the same.

As for next season the budget will be covered from income again, and if there are no fans then income will be significantly reduced as will the playing budget same as every club this season and I’m sure they will be the same next.

Darvel Legend rightly got pelters on these forums when..... in his capacity as a club official....... he made discourteous and disparaging remarks towards other clubs and their supporters.
Now we have no less a person than the MANAGER directing abuse at contributors.

PR car crash ! Time to get Guidi back emoji23.png

I have never been disrespectful to any club or supporter in here but the manner in which he speaks about individuals is a disgrace

No, the only way there wouldn't be a profit is if you spend more than you earn. And that, as you say, is only a projection at the moment.

You clearly don't understand the difference between profit and loss and the balance sheet. It is perfectly possible to have massive debts but still make a profit, or to have no debt and make a loss.

Best concentrate on the game and leave the finances to others.

I certainly understand balance sheets and finance.

Sorry I meant that we don’t have to facilite any debt from the cost of the infrastructure over the last few seasons, so any profit after running cost will be clear profit within the club.

That's not what the point was about. Of course it's great to see grounds being improved and clubs like yours advancing.

The point is that when the interviewer referred to accusations of buying success, the chairman responded by claiming the "massive profit" that will be made when fans come back. There isn't going to be profit for a long time based on the expenditure therefore it's being disingenuous.

There will be profit the only way there wouldn’t be profit if the club was in debt due to the infrastructure investment that isn’t the case.  If the club is left with a surplus at the end of the coming season which is projected then that will be the clubs money.

I suppose we could go back on forth, I need to go sell some chicken tho

Hope you have a good day !

Your budget/expenditure in the last few seasons has included major ground refurbishment such as new changing rooms, at least for the home team as the away team don't get heating or hot water (it wasn't as funny as was made out btw), floodlights, new playing surface, GPS units for training, wages for SFL players (maybe with signing bonuses?). All this in a short space of time at a club who, with all due respect, haven't won anything yet. Calling it sponsorship is the just a front for the fact that it's privately funded. No-one is kidded and tbh it's strange that you want to kid people.

The problem with the pair of you giving more interviews than Harry and Meghan is that you give away a lot of information. You shouldn't be surprised when you're called out on it.

I’m not trying to kid anyone I have said publicly that John has paid for all the infrastructure cost. We both have said that, what you where talking about was the playing budget and that is covered by club.

Are we not allowed to invest in infrastructure cause we haven’t won’t anything. How dare we try and show ambition

The creepy auld clueless chairman with a 'private investor from america' and a narcissist manager from glasgow all sticking money into a once proud wee ayrshire club turning them into a fake phoney plaything.

When will this pathetic charade end that's the 64,000 dollar question.

😂😂😂 I’m not even getting involved in a discussion  with you, your a fucking idiot

The budget which isn't the biggest in the league you mean? Where does he get the information about other club's budgets so that he can publicly declare that Darvel don't pay the biggest wages? You lads can keep saying it but that won't mean listeners are daft enough to believe it.

The club have obviously taken great strides which is to be commended but stop trying to kid everyone on that it's not been heavily privately funded. It just makes you both sound a bit silly.

Same the place you obv get yours, how do you know ours is the biggest in the league?

No one sounding daft, the club isn’t reliant on John to pay wages it come from the sources that I have described which is greater than the clubs playing budget. I have no reason to lie if it was was funded by John I would say its nothing to be ashamed about.

The issue is you think the budget is far greater than actually is, I have said before it will be up there with the top budgets in the division.

Ask the Darvel Legend he has no reason to lie, he knows last season budget it’s the same as this season coming and he will tell you it’s funded from income from the club

It's my own fault for listening to this but, oh dear. Apparently when the fans come back next season, the club will make massive profits. Must be charging 50 notes a skull to get in.

On a more positive note, probably the most professional of this genre of podcasts covering this league. Well done, guys.

It’s not that hard to believe, income from gate receipts, food and drink, lottery, advertising boards, sponsorships then minus the budget means the club would be in profit.

Is the deadline this week or do you have another month like Irvine Meadow?

I think there’s an extension for all clubs mate, we would have been fine for the 23rd but the extension meant we weren’t under pressure. So we took our time as we have decided to replace the park, so want to do things properly
