  1. I would imagine Kevin Thomson would apply, being top of the league didn't stop him applying for Killie. More likely to come in the summer though imo
  2. We would be interested at Camelon Juniors U20s. Already have quite a few lads from the Burgh
  3. I wouldn't say O'Hara is striker either.... can drop off a sticker and play in the hole but he's no exactly going to hold up the ball. Especially the balls Connelly was playing
  4. Went to watch on Saturday more out of morbid curiosity than anything else. Thought the young boy Breen stood up to Ugwu really well for 21 and there's certainly potential in him to be a strong centre half at this level. I always thought Connelly was a solid centre half at the bottom end of the premiership but looked poor on Saturday. I think Dunfermline need to get this appointment right as they now look in real trouble. Morton were poor, but left with 3 points and 3 goals. They didn't create a huge amount but they were just solid and the Pars struggled every time a cross went in the box and I am unsure if at any point they won the second ball. Also Pars fans, what up with this trying to play as many wingers as possible. Kennedy, Thomas, Dow & O'Hara all shoehorned in.
  5. Finn Graham and Ross Graham now at Crossgates Primrose. They have a third brother Sam who's been a big part of Leven United AFC success over the past decade
  6. Grew up in a family of Leith exiles in Fife. Went to school in Dunfermline and it was a mix of Hibs and Hearts. Inverkeithing, Rosyth & Dalgety Bay more so Hibs, Dunfermline itself more Hearts. Oddly from what I remember Dunfermline pull a good deal of support from towns like Cowdenbeath, Glenrothes and the Clackmmanshire area, maybe less so now. I don't remember there being a huge amount of animosity, often took in Dunfermline games with fellow Hibees and Jambos when I was free. Dunfermline's a bit like that, when you have a good team, people regardless of who they follow will go and watch
  7. 2-1 I think, opening couple games of the season. Was there as a neutral local
  8. Aye that also interested me. Fergus has always had a tie in with Lochend and the astro isn't Edinburgh Leisure its owned by Lochend Boys Club. So are Falkirk paying Lochend? Its a strange one. Think majority of the boys coming from the SERYFS U15's League, believe Falkirk possibly attempting to swallow up the remnants of Salvasen at that age group
  9. Even so your worst boys clubs don't charge boys for trials.
  10. Whats your source for this wee nugget of information? One of the parents of one of the kids involved, new Head of Academy is running the sessions out of Lochend Astro in Edinburgh on a Wednesday night, its a mix of U15s-U17s. As someone who's worked in that line of work, it's not usual practice for professional clubs at that level to do that, just seems odd.
  11. Away from your new manager search. What's the fans thoughts on Falkirk offering trials to U15s-17s players but making them pay £10 a head per session to cover the astroturf costs. Sounds a bit dodgy to me
  12. Also not sure where the rumours about LTHV playing at Ainslie have come from. Far as I'm aware LTHV first choice is Almondvale (Club has used before and has a strong relationship with Livi). Saughton Enclosure is set to be redeveloped into a facility for Hutchie I believe
  13. Just on an annoyance level reading this. I played for Aberdeen University a few years ago. We weren't just there to make up the numbers. The year Cove were promoted the league we lost 3-1 to them with two penalties late on. Then won what would've been back to back promotions to the NRJFA SuperLegaue (9 clear, season null and void). Uni teams aren't just there to make up the numbers, I've played for teams in the LL and EoS and Edinburgh College has a far better set up...
  14. Am I right in saying I saw Cowdenbeath training at the stadium tonight. Can't be any good for the pitch
  15. QOTS are in a unique situation at the moment. Johnston will 100% get you relegated but he's also probably the best man to get you promoted back to the Championship at the first attempt. Have a feeling Dunfermline have given out a few hidings to QOTS over the past few years. IIRC there was a hammering on the eve of QOTS Scottish Cup Final in 2008 and another one during the run in to the Pars getting promoted in 2011. Think I may have been at both.
  16. Possibly not, would Gary Jardine be a good shout. Took Edinburgh City and established them as a league club. Suffered due to season syndrome and now starting his third season at Civil Service, turned them into a solid LL side.
  17. Tam Courts would be an excellent appointment if it didn't clash with his role at United. Built an excellent Kelty side and has good contacts at both youth and LL/EOS Level. Also a sub note, Allan and Ally Campbell (Son's of Ian), have done a fantastic job at Crossgates Primrose, bit of an ambitious jump but I wonder if the family connection would help.
  18. Smith's signed for Colchester tonight. He's actually an English lad but spent time out in NZ as a kid so opted to play for the all whites. Tommy's a family friend and he was always unlikely to sign for Hearts. His wife's pregnant and they opted to move back to the UK from Colorado Rapids to be closer to family. He's Ipswich based so was really looking to stay in the area although I did here he was very keen on coming north but had to put family first.
