  1. Woooft! I fancy the Caol Ila one. Quite pricey even for CS but they have a strong reputation. Got a few winners at Cheltenham this week so will be treating myself i think [emoji237][emoji41]
  2. Ive had a few Bunna 12s in the past while. Id say the batches are very variable and not enjoying my current bottle quite the same. Have you tried the Mòine? Only seems to be on amazon (£35) but I might just prefer that over the 12yo.
  3. I've abused the pour and sip sign up offers on a few email addresses now. Had my fun with it, found a few new drams if never have shelled out for before. The Drumshanbo in particular.
  4. In all seriousness, canny be for the dishwasher!
  5. Mines is long gone [emoji58] Looking forward to November when hopefully both Aldi and Lidl will release another each.
  6. Compared to Bunna 18 and Caol Ila Moch, its nowhere close [emoji6]
  7. I think given that the Maderia is like £27 I'd maybe be tempted by another of the range in future. They use a weird faraday still which maybe explains why it's a bit different
  8. Just poured the last dram of the Tobermory 12yo. Really enjoyed it for the most part. Slightly annoying that the cork was breaking up and ending up with wee bits in the spirit from the start. Have noticed this on Bunnahabhain and Deanston bottlings too so clearly a bad source for the cork. Why not just go for the plasticity ones!
  9. The Penderyn i got gifted is actually very drinkable. Anyone else acquainted? Would never have picked it up (ridiculous bottle and my footballing hatred of the Welsh).... But i was wrong.
  10. Birthday today, got a couple of bottles gifted; Penderyn Maderia & Talisker 10 Also managed to get a bottle of Arrrrrrrdbeg Committee Release. Had worse mondays.
  11. Assume it was a "no"? Was a 1/52 chance apparently. I agree on availability, you struggle to pick up indy Carn Mor bottles now. They used to gather dust on the shelves.
  12. Last minute winner really good again. Fvck the haters.
  13. It's very nice. An exciting prospect [emoji1305]
  14. +1 Cracking it tonight, will advise asap.
  15. It will be on the shortlist of places to go post Covid.
  16. Id say that whisky just differs with age. Who's to say that the bottle opened for 4 years doesn't have something to offer? I ordered a 1975 balblair in the station hotel (Larbert) a few years ago. Was £28 a dram. Was good to try (i was also well oiled, and could argue was ordered by mistake). It had been opened some time ago I'd guess. Was excellent.
  17. Any standout favourites for you? Just wondering how you found the Deanston Wine Cask? Never tried it before. Whisky does oxidize in a half full bottle over time. You might hear people also mention a 'neck pour' from a newly opened whisky which can sometimes disappoint initially before opening up. Long term whisky will go a bit flat, different opinions on how long the sweet spot is. Mine seldom last longer than 6months. Edit: *last 6 months before I finish them
  18. Thought Limmo's take on Del Amitri was decent [emoji1303]
  19. I have bought a handful on auction in the last few years. My max bids are normally £80-100 so I'd doubt there is any manipulation going on at that level. Which distillery do you follow out of interest?
  20. If only falkirk had a whisky shop we could exploit lol
  21. Follow a few twitter accounts mate, its never one shop in particular. Although certain shops do tend to put their products out there at certain times of the day. If you cant have easy access to a phone during the working day its almost impossible.
  22. Picked up a Longrow 10 today. Might be me done for a while. So many exciting releases in a short space of time, plus my birthday is coming up so will surely get a bottle then too
  23. My bottle has just had its final outing. Would love to know what it was. Lovely stuff.
