We'll play our fringe and youth players again so it may be a close game.

if you play fringe and youth players there may be a chance for us i say maybe but if its a strong caley team then no chance but you never know and it should be a good game with a decent crowd and hopefully nae carry on like last time

How was Kyle Gourlay for Elgin? Young lad just signed a 2 year deal at Cove. He'll be our backup to Stuart McKenzie.

he was still young back then when he was on loan to us from dundee i think was decent back then so im sure hes probably improved even more probably best as a backup but would still be a decent no1 goalkeeper

As the season approaches it is worrying there is no sign of any more approaches for new players. We need a strong midfielder and another striker as the back ups to Kane in my opinion are not good enough. If we do not strengthen then I think we will struggle to compete in what may be a stronger league this year. I accept the team did well last year but this was mostly through hard graft and we need more quality.

aye its a bit of worry especially when you see some highland league clubs pulling off some decent signings of ex ross county and caley players and pre season starts this weekend i think maybe there might be a few trialists in the team hopefully

possibly but they also said he couldnt give his full commitment to the club due to new work commitments

Well I'd imagine it takes a bit more time and effort for a central based player to travel for training and matches with Elgin than it does Edinburgh City

i did mention in the first bit i wrote up that it could be cause its closer to home and would work with his work commitments

The official statement when he left you lot said that "they wish him all the best for his career" and "they hope to see him back in an Elgin shirt". Quite obvious that he was going elsewhere.

possibly but they also said he couldnt give his full commitment to the club due to new work commitments

  6. sometimes were a bit quiet on the signing front god knows why but i agree a strong midfielder needs in and a decent striker to pair up with hester or to be on par with him also because of bronsky leaving id like to see a atrong central defender in but hopefully there may be some trialists as weve released some pre season games

  7. not going to predict this season but it surely be competitive as hell i think even if the teams that finished near bottom previously improve with new signings or start to get some momentum could be hard one to call hopefully ourselves (elgin city) are up in the playoffs again or even pushing for the title but with us sometimes performances are chalk and cheese especially towards the end of the season

  8. well 2nd leg tonight and theres only one way for us to play and thats absolutely go all out from the start i think and hopefully get the goals which is always a hard task against edinburgh city seems to be a tough task for us to do when we play them but now i think the pressure might be on edinburgh to either keep that 1-0 or push out for more goals which they probably and to keep us out of the goals so should be a highly competitive game
