  1. As per @Handsome Devilwhat level of investment would get us to the "next level" which I assume is the same level as Aberdeen, hearts, and hibs? All three pay wages that are multiples of ours, and fan bases just as big, so my guess is that amount isn't happening.

Then, even with the money and fan base those clubs have, at least one of them is dug meat each year, and only Aberdeen haven't been relegated, so nothing is guaranteed. The reality is that we are looking for money to keep us where we are in preparation for our turn at the rotation that killie and st Mirren have now (and we had before that).

I personally don't have a redline when it comes to WS losing their majority, but the proposal that would lead to that would have to be crazy.

As such, I hope some folk aren't wishing our control away for the sake of us keeping Blair spittal.

  2. Player sales is a huge part of most clubs finances, and we have always relied on that to a degree. We shouldn't be up shit creek if we don't sell anyone (we aren't) and we probably will keep selling players and budget accordingly.

We have a fan base that's big enough for the club to survive comfortably as a professional club, but not to guarantee us top flight football. I'm in my 40s and all I remember is us being in the top division, so maybe that's why many of us equate survival with being in the premiership.

On that subject, the club and the Society, really has to improve its efforts to get people to games. That's the income source that really drives things, and it eclipses WS contributions.

Oh, look at that, we have young team videos again.

Various communications have suggested people could increase or restart their contributions but it has always been a soft sell, certainly not a campaign.

I would be interested in knowing how many people are actively contributing to the WS.  Obviously some people may have deposited a lump sum.  Have all members contributed something?

Do we think it is up to the Society or the Club to increase the numbers whether that is membership, season tickets or match day attendance, or do we as a fan base have a responsibility to bang the drum and up the numbers?

We can play our part, but it's totally up to the club and society. There's low hanging fruit in that respect, but it sounds like the new WS leadership group is on it, so I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

Also, I'm very tempted to go see some of the hot takes on Twitter and fb, but I've resisted so far. I'm going to concentrate on learning something hard on guitar this weekend to keep me away.

On said plan, I've been really impressed and inspired by the additions to The Well Society board at the end of last year. The contributions from Amber, Sean and Phil have been excellent and I believe we're moving forward at pace.

This is great to hear. I enjoyed going through the presentations and voting, and thought the three mentioned above were impressive, so it's good to know that they've hit the ground running.

As for donations, do we (or can we) aggregate a person's contributions over time? I assume that providing a user with an account to manage online could be a technical challenge (and expensive), but the ability to easily manage my contributions and see how much I've put in would be nice. The current way is very clunky.

This could open up possibilities for incentives, targeted marketing, or contribution top ups and the like. It's something the non profit i work for does, although we're bigger than the OF.

  5. I'm doing the lottery tonight, so we might be OK, as long as I don't have this guys luck https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/powerball-lottery-sue-washington-dc-jackpot-b2498461.html

Full disclosure, I'm going full on dictator when I buy the team with my lottery money. I'll be banning fans I don't like, sticking players to rot in the reserves a la tommy McLean, and probably picking the team. I'll draw the line at playing, but only because I did my hamstring last week.

Like I said many pages ago. No one prepared to spend millions who are not fans (and even then ) would want to be a minority shareholder. It simply does not make sense from a business or legal standpoint.

Let’s hope that one if not both interested parties have deep pockets 🤞

Why would someone want to invest in a scottish club anyway? Other than to asset strip? Honestly, what is the upside?

Honestly, I've given up watching this team away from home. Same old story of either getting ahead and drawing or going behind and drawing.

And always including a Kelly "Masterclass" performance to ensure we won't go with 3 points.

Now we have 3 games back to back to back against the top 3..... no pressure eh?

Exactly, the pressure is on them. Imagine losing to us.
