  1. I read this to mean Killie and Hamilton to be honest but agree its great to feel like the club actually has a plan.
  2. Some questionable maths here. FWIW my neighbour is involved with Halifax Town and we got chatting about wages. Teams at the top of the National League are throwing money about that I would be very surprised RR can compete with (well over £1000pw). Towards the top of League 2 this will be considerably higher, particularly if they have ambitions of going up so I'd imagine Regan will be doing fairly well out of it.
  3. Thats well explained cheers. I'll be honest and say I've not watched them too much either just bits on MOTD. I wouldn't be surprised if there have been a few Italian teams that play a similar style to us as well.
  4. Is it not roughly the way Sheffield United set up a couple of seasons ago when they got promoted (and first season in EPL)? Assume that they weren't the first though and Wilder isn't a maverick genius considering some of his signings.
  5. This. It's not inconceivable that there's only half of the 2020/21 side left by the time 21/22 commences. Effectively a new team. This is why I think I am much more keen to keep hold of Spencer particularly than some on here seem to be. He became an important player over the last year and keeps the continuity of that midfield and hopefully therefore the style of play.
  6. I'd be interested to know how much extra the works are costing though compared with being just good enough for the premiership. With the new Conference League etc it is surely a legitimate goal to finish top 6 in the premiership within maybe the next 10 years if the club is being well run. The last thing we would want is to have an unbelievable season then slash the playing budget having to replace lights etc again that were only done a few years previous. If it is 10% more for some fancier bulbs it surely makes sense, was he perhaps just trying to stir up a bit of buzz by sounding ambitious?
  7. Ultimately you look at the make up of the squad and it could well be now or never. The likelihood is that the squad will be in someway broken up next season unless promotion is achieved with Hendry and Musonda almost certain to move on. I would be very surprised if McGlynn can work his magic to the same extent next season and while I am confident we won't be slipping away catastrophically you just need to look at a team like Ayr where they got to the point of making the push for promotion and then fell away again as losing players caught up with them. The way clubs at this level work it is very difficult to have a 5 or 10 year plan for making your way to the top of the game. Players aren't generally tied in to long contracts and a lot of signings are ultimately gambles. If Rovers do manage to get up it will be an incredible achievement and they would need a whole lot of good fortune next season but that would be no different in 2 or 3 years time.
  8. Rovers did really well to come back from a poor performance on Tuesday. Looks like the fitness is coming back and played some really confident football. K.MacDonald got up and down the pitch much more than he has been and linked up well with Kennedy who was excellent. Vaughan getting 90 mins and looking sharp again is so good to see. Hope this can be the start of a good run and strengthen our league position.
