  1. So you are blaming Steve Clarke for not calling up replacement players? He's fucked things up for us?
  2. You don't give up mate, what are you trying to say?
  3. Excellent Preview that goes some way to clarifying some of the issues for the Denmark game.
  4. I think these are roughly our options.
  5. Our pot 3 peers current group positions just to remind folk of roughly the teams we are comparable to and how they are doing. Russia (2nd), Hungary (2nd), Czech Republic (2nd). Northern Ireland (3rd), Greece (3rd), Finland (3rd). Norway (4th), Republic of Ireland (4th), Iceland (4th)
  6. You could easily argue that we don't have any good options at right wing back to deal with Joakim Maehle and perhaps the threat of counter attacks using Ryan Frasers pace in behind might offer the best form of defence in attack. It's swings and roundabouts, we just have to get on with it and stop the blame game - it achieves nothing.
  7. I guess we just disagree then. He planned to fly with two options at right wing back for the Denmark game (O'Donnell, Fraser) leaving three options for the Moldova and Austria games (O'Donnell, Fraser, Patterson), I just don't think that's unreasonable. It's also not being generous to suggest Steve Clarke wasn't responsible for knowing whether his players meet foreign COVID regulations and would suggest he probably made decisions based on advice taken on that point - If you are fair minded I think you'd concede that.
  8. Stephen O'Donnell is ready to play as is Ryan Fraser. No-one on here predicted Stephen O'Donnell wouldn't be able to travel due to Danish Covid restrictions. Steve Clarke admitted that was a curve ball and yes probably an error from someone, likely not Steve Clarke. Or are you saying that was a media deflection too?
  9. The reasoning is understandable, it just looks worse in hindsight. We currently have 23 players in the squad of which 19 have travelled to Denmark. Aug 26th: Stuart Armstrong pulled out of the squad. (Squad size:25) Aug 28th: John McGinn out of Denmark game. (Squad size: 25) Aug 29th: Nathan Patterson out of Denmark game. (Squad size: 25) Aug 30th: Greg Taylor and James Forrest pulled out of the squad. No Call ups, Enough cover, Limited time. (Squad size: 23) Aug 31st: Stephen O'Donnell and Kevin Nisbet out of Denmark game. Travel to Denmark. (Squad size: 23)
  10. Robertson and Tierney have never played right wing back - why do you find that so hard to understand? I don't I'm just relaying what Steve Clarke said, I left a note of it below for you. Not having a list of replacements to call upon if the worst happens is incredibly short sighted. He does have a list of replacements in his head and on his laptop, he chose not to call them up for the reasons detailed below and in the press conference. Your condescending, contrarian act is fucking shite btw. Don't give a f**k what you think mate.
  11. It's not been clear for days. We all thought Stephen O'Donnell was good to go until today (remember the photo of him training with the squad?) and we knew we had Ryan Fraser and potentially Kieran Tierney or Andy Robertson as cover. That's what Steve Clarke said yesterday. Why do you find that so hard to understand? It isn't due to illness that O'Donnell can't travel as he isn't ill anymore it's due to an issue around Danish Covid regulations which has only become apparent today. Lots of countries have been caught out by that kind of thing, remember the Czech Republic had to move their Euro 2020 camp from the Oriam back to the Czech Republic due to Scottish Covid regulations. You could say they didn't do their due diligence and no doubt they got pelters for that.
  12. You need to double check you math. If we lose to Denmark, beat Moldova and draw with Austria we will be 1 point ahead of them.
  13. He has a list of replacement players. He chose not to call in replacements and explained his reasoning whether you agree with it or not is fairly well documented. Perhaps the advice from his team saying O'Donnell could travel was in error, but you can't expect Steve Clarke to throw the people he works with under a bus. He also added he may call in another forward player for the Moldova and Austria games and we will be back up to potentially 24 players for those two games.
  14. I think we have a very good chance of qualifying for World Cup 2022 via the playoffs if we don't lose in Austria and hopefully beat Moldova. The Denmark game I think we can afford to lose. We could still be in a good position with anything between 3 and 5 points from this round of games depending on other results. The playoffs will be difficult if we make them. Euro 2024 should be easier and we should be aiming to qualify for them every time they come around.
  15. It's realistic to win, lose or draw against the Czech Republic at home in a similar way that it is realistic to win, lose or draw away against Austria. It's not black and white - everything has a context. It's silly to expect to beat the Czech Republic at home just like it's silly to expect to lose in Austria. They are typically tight games with fine margins. Certainly not games to betting your house on. The Czech Republic game at the Euros could very easily have swung Scotland's way and then the narrative is completely different - balance, that's the point.
  16. Aye. That's different to Marshmallo who says he's pish, then he's good and then he's pish again.
  17. It's okay mate, I thought you had meant something different anyway. Maybe someone in the medical team has made a mistake but shit happens, just have to deal with it.
  18. We will hopefully see Patterson, McGinn, O'Donnell and Nisbet return and Steve Clarke said they are looking to bring in a replacement in the form of a forward. That would take us to 24 players for Moldova and Austria.
  19. Course you can, it just has less value the more you change it. So what's the point in Marshmallo expressing an opinion that Jack Hendry is crap if he then changes it when he signs for Club Bruges and then changes it again if Scotland lose to Denmark. Do you ken what I mean? I would value his opinion more if he stuck by his guns more instead of being so knee jerk and reactionary.
  20. f**k off, if you don't like me posting then you don't have to read it. I've noticed people don't like being called on their opinions on here as it often prompts an embarrassing climb down or embarrassing defence of their "position".
  21. So what are you saying then? you are open to the possibility he's not shite now? so fickle I would have expected you to say he's shite and that he's a lucky b*****d to fool Bruges into thinking he is a good defender. If you change your opinion too often then how much value does it really have?
  22. I thought you said he was pish? He's the same player that played in the Euros. So fickle
