On the plus side it's a joy to play on the new astro turf pitch while they are new. I have a feeling you will see much better football at home for the next few years.

Think this is a good point. I'd far rather have grass as I think AstroTurf football is always lower quality but playing on new stuff has to be appealing rather than the worn end of life pitch we've had.

Be interested to see the difference.

Interesting that the statement doesn’t say the title is the only acceptable outcome. That indicates to me that he will not be sacked even if we’re sitting in say 3rd place come November.

I think this season confirmed our shitebag group of players are utterly unsuited to any pressure games. We'll be 4th favourite out of 4 if we reach the playoffs again.

Our only chance of promotion is building a substantial lead by February and hoping the traditional McGlynn 4th quarter collapse isn't too calamitous.

Seemed pretty obvious in the statement that nothing except promotion is acceptable so it’s shit or get off the pot time for the manager.

Nothing other than promotion from L1 should be acceptable every season we are down here. Not going up.this season was completely unacceptable.

I don't see anything radical about that. For me they've bottled the difficult decision and reduced out chances of winning the league next season by persisting with a known failure.

This could hamstring us for 20 years.

Flexing over winning a glorified pre-season friendly against Hibs is more than a little cringe though.

It shows the paucity of good results to call upon.

I also like that all of our updates for years have made declarative statements about very debatable points.

It's always 'there's no doubt the playing squad is better' or 'there's no doubt the management team are a step up'

Excellent update from the board, honest appraisal of the season and the hopes for next season.

Lot of wishful thinking and dressing up failure I'd say.

In short, we're going to do nothing to address the failures of the management team but we've erm again told them to get us promoted. Though this time we really mean it

Max was a tidy player but by far our best football was played before he arrived. Maybe a shocking opinion but not sure he really made a huge impact here. Will be loaned out again next year

I agree with this. He was OK and I'd be glad to see him back next season but I don't think he was spectacular.

Obviously no idea on Meekison given he got bizarrely injured after 4 seconds on the park.

The priority has to be hunting both McKay and Donaldson and getting Henderson back at CH with a new partner.

Plus 3 more midfielders. I'd love to see Morrison gtf.

FFS It is your Board you are in the FSS. If your are not happy, and I get it, simply walking away isn’t going to help. Lobby to get McGlynn removed. I was where you were a long time ago and Saturday was the first time I had been in the SS since the day we got relegated. This season I have been in the Premier Lounge and the first year I have bought a ST since then.
We have had 13 years of shit outside Houstie’s great season

I do agree with this to a point. But even if every FSS member lobbied reps to replace McGlynn they are just a small voice on a board.

But no one forces us to buy season tickets or attend games. If we don't like the management we can exercise our right to withhold cash. It is a fan owned club and there will always be differences of opinion.

I dont see me not going at the start of next season. Even with McGlynn. But its a no to a ST and if i am watching Coll Donaldson square a 45th pass of the half to another clogger im out.

And to answer the earlier question,  no, I'm not a FSS member.

  8. Will be interesting to see how transparent the board are with the financial position early doors this time.

Once the ST figures and the summer infrastructure costs are taken into consideration wonder what the hit on the playing budget will be.

We have too big a squad. Mediocrity over quality.

While the tie was a good as gone, the fact that Lawal didn’t get more minutes is ludicrous and should be talked about more.

He brings that unpredictability factor and the fact he barely appeared given the fact we looked totally out of ideas and creativity is mental to me. Should be getting a serious look in starting next season if McGlynn has any bit of credibility.

The reason for that is that our Land Before Time manager is a bit uneasy about a player who can beat a man and has trickery.

What use is Lawal when the instruction is to play a 3 yard pass sideways (or preferably backwards) or launch an aimless ball into the box for our non existent strike force.

Or coming to terms with the fact a pay off and a rebuild every summer isn't feasible?

McGlynn's interview yesterday alludes to the fact he felt hamstrung with the budget last summer given the 14 players we had left over, this summer he doesn't have that excuse.

That would be a good narrative if we'd started really slowly and finished like a train once he got to recruit more.

It's not true though. This is 1000% his squad, he's been massively backed to recruit it and we're worse than we were in January imo.

  11. I think it's fair to say that it's not unanimous that we should punt McGlynn. I think that's the majority view but maybe 60/40.

If you see Twitter or the Facebook cesspit he has plenty of backing.

My favourite this morning is 'Last season we were 10 points off 9th. Thos season it's 43'

We really do have the club we deserve with those kind of fans.

I agree with your comments about McGlynn however let’s give the board the opportunity to do the right thing as our season only ended yesterday.

I’d say our board are very passionate about Falkirk but don’t seem to have any more idea about getting us out of league 1 than the last lot did.

If they stick with McGlynn they are inviting pressure on themselves as the majority of the fans don’t want him to be our manager. The last thing we need is the fans turning on the board members (although it worked well for Accies yesterday).

Sadly, if McGinn stays I think Airdrie/Accies and QoS will all be too strong for us next season.

I think if he was getting punted he'd already know.

They will take the easy option. I think it will be a very bad one.

  13. Can't watch the interview(s).

Really despondent that we're letting McGlynn f**k us for another year.

Might we win the league next year? It's possible. It will be a shiter of a standard and we could scab being the best of the worst. We'll have a massive budget and wage bill advantage over our peers.

But it will be shite to watch and Barney will have us snoozing regularly with triangles in our own box.

Seems like this BoD is accepting failure much as the previous ones did. Not good enough.

I can’t be bothered with all that bravado tbh. InThe boards job was to recruit a good manager and get us promoted and so far they have failed with Rennie and McGlynn.

Purely on a footballing side there has been zero improvement from old to new.

Quite frankly, it’s not good enough.

That's the kicker for me. I could stomach thos end to the season if we were swashbuckling.

We're fucking terrible to watch. Clueless slow ponderous dross.

Devastating news for all non Falkirk fans. No, seriously, guys like him give up their time so others have a better experience. Best of luck to him if he is leaving ftv.

Surprised by this.. Lewis is the world's nicest person so if you've managed to f**k him off to the point of quitting that's.. quite something

If Lewis has chucked it I hope his last interview with McGlynn is to tell him he's fucking hopeless and can leave with the best wishes of absolutely no c**t.

'So John, a bad day at the off... ah f**k it, a bad season at the office ya baldy w**k.. just fucking do one.. any thought on today's game'?
