Why hasn't the game already been postponed?

There is no issue with the pitch as it stands. It is one of the best drainage pitches in Scottish football. I'm sure if any doubt there will be an inspection planned early in morning like normal.

A lot of games in Central belt are all on still. The games to be postponed all appear to be fro. Perth northwards.

  2. Another good win today and that's 4 wins out of 5 and 1 defeat in 6. Again winning is a good habit to get into regardless of competition or opposition.

Brilliant to see Aiden back today who was superb and everyone can see is a huge asset to the club.

Another sign of progression in terms of winning games and progressing in competitions.

Different challenge on Wednesday which is effectively in my opinion the toughest fixture we can have in the league. Away to a strong tranent team midweek!. Hopefully come away with a win/draw.

Zac was indeed fantastic and a pleasure to watch and again great to have a lad like this in our club. I'm sure we would like to try get players of his calibre signed up for the future.

    Mon the Cowden.

  3. The injured players are slowly but surely on way back to recovery 1 of whom will hopefully be back really soon. The other maybe 3-4 weeks away.

Disappointing result and performance last week and for sure the poorest since the start of the season. However these boys have done well and im confident of a reaction at the weekend. The improvement in the squad and play has been significant so the progression is still there albeit with a poor loss last weekend after the high of going through the Scottish the week before.

The bench is almost full now so we have good options and versatility within the playing side. A chance to go get 3 points saturday on a really good surface. Gretna have improved 100% since the start of the season so the game will be a real difficult one. Look forward to a good support and im confident the lads will give you all something to cheer come 5pm Saturday.

Big month is October so the more fans that can help us the better. No doubt the biggest game is Scottish against Kilwinning not from just getting through another round but financially its a biggy.

Hopefully see good crowds at Whitehill game + caley braves home games.

    Mon the Cowden

  4. I'm sure people watch anyway but tomorrow on a view from the terrace there should be a piece about robbie mcnab and his charity work and other matters. On bbc Scotland 10 30pm. I'm pretty sure it's tomorrow anyway lol. Just so fans can get a glimpse into our leader/captain.👏👏

Any bad injuries? Sub keeper was good, his kicking best we've seen for a while.

    Well 👍 done.

Have to wait and see on gk eg heppy. Bad facial injury. Good to have ewan back. Yeah josh done great. Good gk and great lad.

  6. Massive well done to the players management and staff. It's another tick in terms of progression. We haven't won a Scottish game since 2020.

The players dug deep and worked their socks off and it was a real "team" effort. Subs making impact and it shows the togetherness in the club.

That was a tough tough game and hopefully the draw can b kind today.

Don’t think many ( if indeed any of us ) were expecting to see a title challenging side this season. For me, I’d be happy to see us finish in the upper end of the table this time around. Teams like East Kilbride and Tranent were always going to be leading the way with the resources they can throw at it.

This season is about starting to build a good core squad to which we can hopefully add some new additions to next season. We have a really good promising young manager and I like the way he has the team trying to play football. One defeat at home against a very good team is hardly the end of the world, especially when we are carrying injuries to key players.

We are starting to get people back through the gates after some truly awful years and that is a huge positive. The club is being more open and making real efforts to keep the fans involved and informed about what is being done.
I was absolutely gutted when we dropped into the LL and I felt extremely disillusioned. I was probably ready to pack it in, especially when Mo Ross was in charge and I was also puzzled as to why we stuck with the previous manager for so long. That’s all water under the bridge now however.

Speaking personally I will continue to make an effort to get to as many games as I can and I’ve joined the new fans group as well and would encourage others to do so as well. We lost the other night but it was good to see more people back on the terracing again.

    Class only coo. Great post.

Please don't spread these unfounded rumours Nelly, they can be very harmful. We both know there's only one club throwing money at it and it's no surprise to see that you're now massive favourites for the Lowland League title as a result. I just hope yous can see it through with a fanbase that are absolutely determined to cast doubt on the sea of talent Cowden have in their squad. Awful support if you ask me!

Oh, and as you can see we still deliver highlights when we get beat, unlike some unnamed Fife clubs I can think of ☺️

Unless the players are lying I know what certain players are on. Usually they will inflate it tbf. However even then u have lads on over 200 quid a week fact.. quite a few actually. Also one player was on transfer list last season then 8 or so weeks later got an improved contract..🤣. Happy berwick posted the highlights and credit for that. Its good to see how shite uz are.

I would reckon east kilbride would be favourites mate with their significant budget and signings even more than berwicks. Thought u would b savvy enough to know that.

Also hope u apologise to a great player and lad in cammy Graham for calling him a jobber.

Finally our fan base is very much behind the club/management and players unlike some of our nemesis in the lowland league.

    Mon the cooo...

  9. Will berwick post any highlights..? Hope so. Club going In right direction and lots of positives to take.

If we can get more and more fans back this helps significantly.

Always found it strange berwick re signed so many of their players from last season especially on significant sums of money. I know about 8 or 9 of them are on more money than our top earner.

Hoping that 1 or 2 lads be back soon maybe not for tranent but certainly after it.

Good to hear that the 2 locals lads ciaren and gregor did well again yesterday.

Different challenge Tuesday as tranent have a better team than berwick 100% and individual players who can hurt you. Mon the coo.

  10. Fantastic result.  Not surprised by it as I truly believe we have a better team and squad even though our budget is way less than berwicks.. However some players who played were actually 50/50 and playing with niggles/injuries. They are giving everything.

Well done to calum and staff and players.

    Mon the coooooo

Deary me - someone is sensitive about the role they played in Cowdenbeath's literal worst season ever!

I actually have it on extremely good authority that Calum has put that entire squad together - I'm sure he'd be delighted to hear you're trying to take credit for it all though. Perhaps you should stick to hiding match balls and keep away from the 'scouting system' responsible for recruiting a team of absolute jobbers? Especially given your team has now had to throw hundreds of thousands at fixing the damage done.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 hundreds of thousands. Mate stick to worrying about berwick. The fact u even said that explains you know nothing about how a football club is run. Calum has done a fantastic job in assembling a squad and getting them performing well. Won't go into detail on a public forum on how signings are recruited and signed (again your post shows complete lack of understanding how football works).

One of the jobbers we signed went to berwick mate.. no way to talk about cammy Graham he's a good player and good lad.

I'm not trying to take credit for it all again review my reply I never said anything as such. There is many people working hard to improve the club/squad/results it's a collective not just gaffer and certainly not just me.

Oh and again you are misinformed I never "hid" any match balls.

Enjoy the game tomorrow mate win lose or draw.

Jesus christ - a lot of Cowden boys scrambling to play down their chances in here, bizarre.

With all the hard work your manager has done to put together a squad better than a fan did (I can't believe it) and all that money you're throwing at it, the least you could do is show a bit of confidence in the squad that has got you a number of results so far this season. No doubt you'll be flip flopping again after getting 3 points tomorrow. Oddballs.

Mate f**k off. This squad has been built with a collective effort. Just like last year. Only oddball is you.

I hope we turn u over however we are depleted that is simply a fact.  Now bore off.

  13. Missing the game my first game missed in over a year as I'm in Hong Kong. Any chance any1 going to game wants to video call me and film the whole game🤣....

Big game and the boys will look to bounce back after last week's defeat.

Play on front foot and with same intensity and quality this should mean we are in with a good shout of getting the 3 points. Stopping bucks from getting chances is the key.

  14. Matty mcdonald likely 8 weeks. Aiden mcglauglin maybe 4 to 5 weeks. Dougie 2 weeks. Ewan not long hopefully but next week may come too soon. Rodden can play for sure next 2 games.

Tough loss today but again showed good signs and character to come from 2 down but then losing 2 goals which were avoidable.

Josh jack with another unbelievable free kick  6 goals so far already so good start from him. Scored a couple in pre season too. Docherty with a good header.

Take positives move on to next week.. Big fcukin game.

  15. Really happy to hear positive comments. The boys and the management and club are genuinely working their arses off trying to get a winning team on the pitch. Trying to get the right players to the club is key and we have done really well in getting a lot of key targets and our efforts there are starting to pay off.

Last night was a bruising game real mens football match for what is a young squad really without Dougie and Robbie.

We should have won but best thing was to dig deep and ensure we didnt lose that game so a clean sheet was pleasing. We have some real talent in that dressing room and a manager who is playing a really attractive style and high tempo which fans love to see.

I think also you can see the League cup campaign is starting to take its toll slightly with more injuries and knocks and fatigue. These boys are proper fit and we got stronger as game went on so credit to them.

We have 4/5 injuries now sadly so may look to bring in 1 or 2 more if finances allow to help the squad. Lot of working right now going into that.

P.S who picked the MOTM did they not watch Robbie Mcnab or Zac butterworth lol..

  16. Great result yesterday with some good goals. Clearly pick of bunch double JJ's free kick. But lucas's 1st goal was a good well worked goal and finish also.

Decent crowd and I noticed 1 or 2 faces back which is great. We need the fans out in force Wednesday as this will be a real tough game against a team that hardly lose any goals. Only 2 goals lost in the league. They are physical and well coached. So we need to b at it and hopefully support can push the boys on.

Downside is matty mcdonald injury which hopefully know more within next 48 hours but pretty sure he will miss Wednesday. Aiden out for a while too.

Can't wait for Wednesday. It's an exciting time and there's a lot of positivity around the club which is great. Let's keep it going win lose or draw Wednesday.

    Mon the cowden.

  17. Think we play winners of dunfermline vs st andrews. Date will need tbc once those 2 play.

As for the game fans getting value anyway..lol.

Defensively it was a makeshift defence with tait playing left centre back when he's probably never played there before.

Walker pulled up during warm up. Aiden mclauglin is out for likely 4 to 6 weeks with an injury. Rodden is suspended this weekend and let's see what develops with him in terms of maybe further ban he has been a first class recruitment and will be a massive blow to us..

Good to get some boys minutes and mikey scoring on his 2nd debut.

Good to win a pen shoot out for a change!.

Onto Saturday which will be a tough game edi uni are better than last year for sure and have a good coach who is their new manager. Hopefully 3 points and get the unbeaten run continuing.

    Mon the cowden.

  18. Dougie has a small injury concern but hopeful he will be back for weekend.

Boys have been nothing short of terrific. The league Cup campaign unfortunately took its toll in those last 20 mins or so as the boys were dead on their feet. The way calum wants to play is clearly front foot energy and high pressing that's difficult to do week to week let alone 4 games in 10 days!.

So close to an unreal 3 points however take the positives and move on to this weekend.

Trying to get another lad in for weekend to help the squad which will be a loan.

Thanks for the great away support. It's a positive place just now for first time in a long time. Let's all keep it going and mucking in. Hopefully good times ahead.

    Mon the cowden.

  19. Couldn't be more proud of the lads after what has been a tough last 6 days!. 6 days we have had to play a premier league club/championship and league 1 top team.  In all of those we have matched and battled and played well.

Some great individual performances but to a man everyone has been great. It raises the expectations perhaps but this group is gelling well on and off the pitch and we have ultimately some really good footballers.

The players this last 6 days shown that desire quality and fitness to go toe to toe with teams and that should b commended to the manager also for being brave in his set up.

League starts Saturday and hopefully a good away crowd.

    Mon the cowden.

  20. I don't want to get carried away but that was magnificent performance and effort. Played with pace and quality. Moving the ball well and passing it with good movements. The ref was abysmal and its never a red card for aiden. The 2nd one is a red. We had an offside goal which I'm confident was an incorrect decision linesman said it was for the goalscorer offside so docherty.. need to watch it back.

This teams fitness levels were all there to see and again you could see how good dougie Hill is and will be so hopefully we can extend this if money allows...

On a final note the players were looking  for the fans to applaud them on Saturday and last night but everyone apart from 2 or 3 were away lol.

There will b a few sore legs today with the boys but they go again  Saturday trying to get another upset.

    Mon the cowden.
