Both teams have much better home records than away records (only Arbroath has a worse away record than Airdrie), so it does seem the advantage is with us
This ain’t the league boy. That nonsense doesn’t come into it

Decent result.
Genuinely never seen a fan base try and force a rivalry as much as partick. So so desperate

Afraid ICT will just be too strong for any of the League one teams this year.

Really surprised at QOTS this season. Thought yous looked like a right good team last year. I expected you to be into the playoffs at least and even challenging for the title this year!

This "we're just plucky little Airdrie with no right to be here" stuff is absolute shitebag behaviour.
Aye you’re right. We’re massive and will pump partick

We’ve absolutely no right to be in the playoffs so if we get papped oot on the first attempt then so be it.
I think we might turn up though

Do you think MacCabe is further up the food chain than Kris Doolan of Thistle.... A lot of similarities between the two, 2 very talented young managers which is great to see in the wastelands of Scottish football..
Great point. I think Doolan’s stock is higher at present.

It's not exactly rocket science; on paper you have one of the weakest squads in the league. It isn't any better than the teams that went down last season.
This is just bliss. Wee Zanetti now relying on Airdrie to roll over and do his team a turn tomorrow whilst we prepare for the playoffs with a (diddy) cup under our arm.

If Murray got Rovers promoted, it's a more impressive feat than what Mccabe has done. Same can be said vice versa, of course.
All depends. If neither Raith or airdrie get promoted then I’d say McCabe has had a better season than Murray.

I can’t see McCabe going this season unless there’s a ridiculous offer on the table. He has a young family and made it clear that he didn’t want to move too much for that very reason.
He’s young but so was Kevin Thompson who hasn’t had a sniff anywhere else. It can all change pretty quickly if you move too soon.

dont kid yourself on, if he gets an offer from a club the size of ours he will be off. Even a Falkirk or a Dunfermline
Absolute drivel from you as per

Fair enough, I'd actually forgotten about your Airdrie result. But I maintain you'd get through the playoffs relatively comfortably.
Wouldn’t be so sure. St Johnstone and more specifically Levein didn’t have a clue on how to play us in the cup. It was fairly easy.
If partick beat us in the quarter final the I could see them going all the way.

by the time the fighting started the all the player had been away up the tunnel for 10 mins
I suppose the spectacle of watching a few thousand grown men try and scrap with wee boys was quite amusing also. Cringe

not being funny but why were Airdrie supporters still in the ground to watch us celebrate ? I'd have been right down the road
You must be the thickest poster on here.
Can the HOME fans no applaud their team for their efforts this season?
Pretty shit ‘celebrations’ in all honesty. Cringing at how forced the pitch invasion was.

As for the exuberance of the Dundee Utd faithful, well we enjoyed our time at New Douglas Park last May and also at The Falkirk Stadium in March, so suppose we’ll take that one on the chin… literally.
Aye but I don’t recall us scrapping with Hamilton or Falkirk fans? You wouldn’t expect that sort of stuff off of a so called ‘premier’ club

New level of tinpot unlocked.
Dundee fans squaring up to Airdrie after winning a league they should always be winning was so so tinpot. Considering we won you the league by beating raith.
Your team just won the league. Go jump about instead of trying to scrap.

Crowd was 6,555 and Hearts sold around 4,300 - so more like 2,200 Airdrie fans which sounds more realistic unless I've missed something?
I’m pretty sure you’re still a league one club so away you go for now

I remember back in the 90's you having , in my head anyway, a similar support to Falkirk and as you say had a bit of a hardman image.
Now you seem on par with a Stenhouemuir for support, Where did they all go ?
Come on now, I think comparing us with Stenny is a bit of push.
In all honesty? The majority of the fans from the 90’s are probably deed. I remember there being a contingent of oldies who must’ve been in their late 60’s/early 70’s back then who are most likely no longer with us.
Don’t get me wrong, we can still pull in 2.5k for a big cup game or playoff push so there are more out there

Not being a smart arse but what's the issue with Airdie getting a crowd because that would be a shit gate for a game like that given your position? Has it been like that post Broomfield?
A culmination of things. Moving to Broadwood when the new stadium was being built put a few off. The 10 year stint in league one watching absolute garbage didn’t help either. It’s only really since McCabe’s tenure that our support has crept up slightly.
Just like every other club in the central belt, we’re constantly competing with the ugly sisters to encourage younger and new fans to come along. The club have done really well to move away from the ‘section b’ image that every other club in the country has of us. Hopefully better days to come

I'm aware the purpose of this thread is something different (i.e a fantasy team of Championship players) but for me the team of the season is Airdrie. As a Queen's Park fan, it really hurts me to say this but credit where credit is due. Winning the playoffs in League 1 last year and making it into the top four in the Championship this season is a massive achievement. I only wish we can beat them just for once in the last game of this season so that we can stay up.

It's one game, there's nothing broken and whilst I have never considered us winning the play offs I do see us beating Thistle. I'm confident of winning our home game but we must have to adapt at Firhill where the surface is terrible (pitch didn't look watered to me, probably deliberate but that's ok) and go more direct like we did at Dunfermline several weeks ago.
Of course personnel is key although our keeper is by far my biggest concern but looks like we have no option. Hopefully McCabe can get some game time prior to the Thistle games so that he can be involved on the park and whilst McMaster is having his best spell at the club, yesterday highlighted his limitations when we are not dominating and he is on the turn.
The goaly situation is really concerning. Teams will just know to put crosses in as Humphrey will just watch them float across his box. Such a disappointing bit of business

Congratulations DUFC. You made it hard for yourselves in a league of 9 ‘diddy’ teams but more than deserved the league

Didn't see that coming at half-time tbh.
Airdrie kept passing and moving but a well deserved win in the end.
Heads went down after the second. Missing Frizzel, Ballantyne and McCabe and it showed Hopefully the playoffs are it bit more competitive which I’m positive they will be

Time to focus on the playoffs now and get our squad back fit. If we get Ballantyne, McCabe and Frizzell back then we should have enough to compete.
The squad today was bare thin and it showed
