  1. We only ever get to know the finances as they were 9 months ago - then as the season progresses they are even more out of date. Fan ownership plans bogged down in infighting and the reluctance of the club and shareholders to engage (nothing new there). Word is that Rovers are going for promotion or bust next season - so probably bust.
  2. But it ain’t sneaky at all. It was quite clearly signposted and has gained near universal support amongst the fanbase. Trump style, you’re telling a lie and telling it repeatedly In the hope that it will stick - and pursuing a demented vandetta against an individual, with a bit of misogyny thrown in for good measure. Also telling that you post here, where few people care, instead of the Rovers messageboard, where you’d be shot to pieces.
  3. Quite shocking that all this is secret: https://arfc.proboards.com/thread/3059/fan-ownership Not sure what you’re complaining about Eddie - that it’s being kept secret :), or that it’s happening at all? If the latter, and you’re a Rovers fan, then you’re way out of step with the rest of your fans. Or do you prefer that the Shamrock Rovers guy gets to own the club instead? Anyway - great news. Seems like they are getting organised and going about it the right way. PS - you seem to have mislaid some previous posts - they were there and now they’ve gone! Be careful leaving the house with your keys, phone etc. And do try to tone down the misogyny.
  4. A pretty good chance. Only frost would keep it off and the temperature on Friday morning is above zero from then until 3pm on Sat. Lots of rain forecast but that shouldn’t be a problem for the pitch.
  5. Interesting first post from a so-called Clyde fan who has never commented on anything about Clyde despite all their recent travails, but is exercised by events at Albion Rovers? Bistander (sic) my @rse
  6. Hearts B and Celtic B should either f**k off now or be kicked out of the League at the end of the season.
  7. Coatbridge Shamrock was only 'alive' to the extent that a fantasist pushed the idea and it was picked up by a gullible media. Subsequent attempts to breath life into it have fallen flat. Further deranged statements from the fantasist can’t be ruled out, but there’s no chance of him succeeding.
  8. Yes, but someone needed to sum up the situation properly, something you and a couple of others were incapable of doing.
  9. Who is? Not the club, that’s for sure. The story is this: Egotistic chancer outlines crazy plans regarding a small football club, is sent packing by the club but manages to enlist gullible journalist to publicise his deluded fantasies.. That’s all.
  10. If you’re talking about the supporters, 100% against. And contemptuous of the clubs who voted the B teams in. If we end up playing B teams, we’ll have very low crowds as many of our fans have made clear they will boycott these matches.
  11. Your memory is rubbish as Rovers have been ‘in the top two tiers after reconstruction’ along with those other clubs. Shire were in the old first division once in the early 60s and Berwick and Montrose have never been there; Rovers have had ten seasons in the top flight. Also, we’ve never resigned from the league only to come back a few days later, failed to fulfil a fixture, or been stupid enough to fall for a financial fraud.
  12. A very good analysis. Fagan’s only involvement with the club is to turn up at AGMs. He generally keeps quiet at these, but once intervened to veto work on a possible share issue being taken forward, and another time to attempt the same thing (but he was denied by the Chairman). He has never revealed his motives in keeping his Rovers shares, such as whether he wishes to cash in at some point or become Chairman himself after he retires from the SFA. The former is more likely as he isn’t thought to have any real affection for the club and has never been an active supporter. In theory he can be outvoted, but many of the other large shareholders don’t get involved so Fagan does have an effective veto on major decisions. Because of all this he is spectacularly unpopular at the club. Rovers might be able to improve with new investment, but Fagan shows no sign of wanting this to happen and our Directors are too spineless to take him on.
  13. The shares aren’t worth eff all. Within the last year, the largest shareholder turned down an offer not far short of £100k for his 7,000 shares. The club owns the ground and is no longer (since 2019) in debt to bankers. Accounts all audited and published, and to be discussed at the club AGM on Monday.
  14. The club is a private limited company owned by its shareholders. Fagan is the single biggest shareholder with just over 20% of the shares - which is 7,000 shares. The next biggest shareholder has 2,000 shares. The names of all the shareholders can be found on documents on the Companies House website. I don’t think what Bucky says about Fagan not being able to play a part in the club is correct. The SFA don’t seem to have any rules about their employees’ involvement with clubs. Fagan has in the past voted to stop a new share issue being taken forward and can effectively veto any decision he doesn’t like.
  15. Is it allowed to offer to sell a programme on this site (a very rare Shire one from the 1950s)?
