  1. His posts are an honest reflection of how bad the situation is…there are 5 weeks until we start the league cup campaign and look where we are at ? I’m sure Danny is doing what he can but money is key to this . The only reason potentially Splaine would stay is if no one else comes in for him but the lack of info regarding Cuddihy and Livingstone as you would say, is deafening.
  2. Sounds like a wee bit of reality coming into play on some of the messages here thankfully. Sentimentality is a ridiculous reason to sign a player so Danny is right….if he was interested that is. Anybody else fancy watching a team winning 25% of their league games again or less then fair play to you…we simply are not in a position to challenge in any meaningful way and that’s sad to say… the video of “where the dream begins” highlighted how much of an opportunity Broadwood was and now we’re back to square 1. The pyramid system now enforces a change in league structure and we have to be mindful of that…hopefully getting additional revenue at NDP will help but I’d be surprised if we don’t get relegated this season, without the need of a play off..sad to admit but obviously I hope I’m wrong.
  3. Rumsby is a solid and hardworking player and has experienced more lows than highs as a Clyde player. Not an easy position to play when you’re getting battered for it most of the time so fair play he wants a change..best wishes to him. Wondering where he’s off to now ? No doubt we’ll hear soon.
  4. As said above, I think that we don’t have a great deal to offer for prospective players. We are going to drop like a stone out of this league based on our resources and that’s the way things are these days. I do take my hat off to the board for trying to make the best of this situation but I fear the worst. The Scottish League as it stands will look different due to the pyramid and have good support and funding behind the, and ultimately a good community base too. The Clyde job is too big to rely on 20 or so players a season to get us through. Don’t think I have the stomach for it this year to go on a regular basis and watch the inevitable but do I still contribute financially in some way….still considering.
  5. A mini bus should cover it. What’s the problem in transporting fans that way ????
  6. I fear that the job this year will be even out with Danny’s capabilities. We’ll be favourites for relegation let’s be under no illusion. I really fear the worst this season due to some of the teams in the league this year. Absolutely fascinating though how this league is going to play out .
  7. A wee bit unfair I think…he really tried and got a good number of games under his belt. That defence was a disaster until Balatoni was sidelined and Docherty and Page got..more of a chance.
  8. Fans don’t forget stuff…We took 800 I think to Cowdenbeath for a chance to win the league, before we won the play offs, and you bet us 2-0 and the Cowdenbeath players were giving it a proper “get it right up yi” when they scored. Maybe that ?
  9. I watched Richard Foster playing last night for Thistle…I can’t see them keeping him on. A decent right back for League 1 though I think although gets caught out at times. 36yrs old but maybe for a season ?
  10. Either on here or owner’s forum that he might be moving back abroad….I have no inside info personally. Lol
  11. I saw McGrath sitting with the rest of the team as a spectator at the final Peterhead game and he looked like he had put on weight. He’s still young and hopefully he can get back on track again. Hopefully Cunningham, Livingstone, Rumsby and Cuddihy confirm that they’re staying. Spillane would be the icing on the cake for this week but various rumours about him on here about him being away.
  12. I would disagree…..36 and an injury hit season. All signings are a gamble but that would be a step too far. We can’t afford these type of luxuries.
  13. Lots of well meant but unreal expectations here…..low income = low budget. DL doing the job with one arm tied round his back, and fair play to him for wishing to try for another 2 years. We’re getting squeezed out in this division in terms of who we can attract and who we can pay. Delighted we stayed up which was thanks to a number of draws but any decent player will have been snapped up already.
  14. Out of interest, has anyone actually seen Ray Grant play for Stirling Albion? Hard to make “sign him” statements after him being released by a L2 team…and not seeing him play..
  15. Without Splaine, that starting 11 was our strongest, then they bring up some of the Glasgow Cup 5/6. Thought we played really well at times. It’s going to be very interesting what occurs now…but thank f**k we’re nearly finished this season and away Ron Broadwood…
  16. Will we be able to defend the Broadwood Cup ?? Lol
  17. Aye aye..just worry about your own shitshow and let us worry about ours.
  18. Unbelievable insight from a deluded Falkirk fan
  19. Instead of hanging around they have taken the bull by the horns and said…f**k this…we’re not waiting on someone else to decide…NLC have been teeing this up for a while and the DGW situation was a great excuse to move things quickly.
  20. Fair enough..however, I still believe that trying to sustain a Championship budget with junior attendances like Queens Park will be interesting to watch.
  21. Does anyone here believe that it’s going to get any better next season ? Keilty and likely QOS getting added, and let’s say no one team via either play offs, along with our “budget” this season, and worse the season after, maybe we should do the open trials again…
  22. Hate to be the bearer of negative sentiments here, but according but we are probably one of the worst off financially in Scottish football based on depleted revenues, so I would suggest that we should appreciate where we are, and hope that DL continues to work his magic in keeping us 8th or above every season. Lack of success on the pitch, less fans, less money, then smaller budgets, lack of success, even less fans….AND looking for alternatives to Broadwood, which will kill us anyway if we stay. Are we hoping that a bank would lend us money based on what we own, which is very little…so I think the question isn’t about who we can keep, it’s about those who wish to stay with the possibility of earning more elsewhere…
  23. Fair play to anyone who wishes to consistently deal with this pish. I’m done with it. Even if we do survive because there is no way this is getting better…unless we get a huge injection from somewhere ?
  24. I left when the 3rd goal went in and anyone who goes to watch that every week deserves a medal…was looking forward to seeing Monday after I missed a couple of games. Clearly missing McAllister, Cunningham and Cuddihy. Shows a severe lack of depth in the squad and can’t see it getting much better next season. I think I’ll find a meditation retreat every Saturday to go to from now on…….
