  1. I also think that COVID had a huge part to play the last couple of season.. both cut short , p/t players playing 3/4 games a week highlights how well he managed all of this and kept us up. This season has been really weird. Before Clydebank and after. If we stay up it’s definitely worth another contract for him I think and hopefully will never make a mistake like Jones again. However. Would he want to stay ? Are Clyde attractive enough for players looking to switch over to ?
  2. You see the attacking of Peterhead, Dumbarton on Saturday and a possible resurgence of Alloa. I have barely seen that in our own team this season and it’s sickening, frustrating and worrying all at the same time…oh and the next 4 games will result in zero points unless some decent loans get sorted out.
  3. First season ticket bought this season in over 30 yrs and feel that the League 1 standard has been poor in general because we should have been hammered by some of the teams if only they had a decent finisher on the day.. Airdrie the best I’ve seen in our league however. As for us, we have rode our luck recently and hopefully its’s gave us enough to build on to get us over the line and then a massive clear out . Keeping Parry, Rumsby, Elsdon, Docherty, Spillane, Livingstone, Cunningham, Love, Jamieson,Cuddihy….if they’ll stay…and why did we loan out so many players too ? Total waste of resources.
  4. Hope I regret this post but with no Rumsby or Spillane I fear the worst as a Clyde fan
  5. Totally agree with this…the pyramid system has been very beneficial in weeding out the clubs who were underachieving and not looking like changing..ie East Stirling who were always crap…then Berwick, Brechin and now likely Cowdenbeath . You need to keep driving forward. It’s hard to see any of these teams coming back anytime soon, and if we did end up there, then it would be our own fault.
  6. Ferguson’s character on Only anExcuse was perfect. Add to that a pal who drives ice cream vans…we were well happy to get rid of him..after Alloa he might get another Junior club or shake hands with Hospitality guests at ibrox.
  7. No matter what, the likelihood of ANYTHING happening soon should be sidelined. The focus for the time being is what other loanees can be brought in until the end of the season… especially in midfield and up front. Are we forgetting that we are now left with Jones, the elder statesman Tade and young Jamieson to try and get us enough goals to hit a safe total of around 44/45 points and hoping Cunningham will be match fit too soon. Let’s try and ask the board these questions to get through the next 12 games.
  8. I think Love is a good shout..but with maybe Elsdnen as no2 if Ally comes off…seems to read the game well
  9. So who is making the final decisions in your gaff? As a Clyde man I’m not up to date with your boardroom but are they in an Ivory tour or something…all that good experience and dedication resigned themselves away today so does no one talk ?
  10. Sturgeon; RR Women’s captain all into this. Ffs.
  11. If he scores goals and you get promoted then will you still not go ?.. Maybe a fewwont. He essentially saved our club it was a good fit both ways. Rather be where we are now than sitting in the Lowland League where we would probably be without him. Fact. He is carrying a knock just now which might give the dust time to settle.
  12. Where’s Val McDermid when you need her to clarify things ???
  13. It’s not just the results for Alloa but it’s how those two conduct themselves and how it reflects on the Club . We then get Danny Lennon and it’s night and day…an honest , hard working guy who has respect for the game and the fans…even when things aren’t going so well. And ultimately how to conduct himself.
  14. Saw Jackie Macnamara behind me last night at the game…wondering who he was watching ??? He’s currently doing some sort of work with Dunfermline
  15. Unfortunately you’re right….lack of passing ability or tackling from some players.but will take a point…thought that we could have been battered score wise…right back area horrendous just now. Now let’s pump Alloa.
  16. Think Airdrie could give us a sore one on Tuesday
  17. Yeah out right side at the back was wide open…Essentially Queens Park were playing against 10 men because of Jones and still couldn’t beat us…can we just play the long ball now because we can’t do much else without Goodie…
  18. Have tried to give Jones the benefit of the doubt but he was terrible today…no urgency, no tracking back, no aggression, no skill..a wee bit better in 2nd half but only because I think DL put a rocket up his arse…Spillane still frustrates as he made a couple of 50 yard passes to a Clyde player…but midfield overall a huge weakness..thought we were lucky today because if they could have finished we would have taken a sore one.. At least we haven’t wasted a shit load of money to buy success for a fan base of around 500
  19. Apparently a couple of Polls running on Falkirk fan sites of whether they would be happy for DGW to sign and poll suggests a majority would..although still running. Could be all smoke and mirrors.
  20. As a Clyde man…how much would be acceptable to Falkirk fans to buy Goodwillie ? It’s amazing how things change once the goals go flying in and I don’t see any player in the Falkirk team which we would take to replace cold hard cash in a deal providing cash plus players…..can’t see it happening Bairns….
  21. I just feel that for him to get a quiet life with his family , playing football and coaching kids while building a career in something else beats hands down the pressure he would feel at somewhere like Falkirk. Does he need that exposure for a couple of years ? I believe that long term he will put more into football in a community based level and that will take time. No doubt he’ll have regrets but he’s currently in the early stages of a rebuild in his life which is a massive prospect at anyone let alone at 32. I’d be surprised if he left but if he does, then it’s up to him and I hope we get the best money for him if that happens, and wish him all the best too, as much as it would stick in my throat.
