  1. Don't see how he's rattled, because you are good at what you do? Very obvious game plan to be organised defensively, physical in the tackle, and getting in the other team's faces when on the ball. After watching you play us three times there's never been anything that looks like attacking, liquid football, it's been the same style of play - which as Bowyer's said - you are good at.
  2. Four games against Glasgow Gretna this season, in all competitions with a record of 3W 1D 10GF 3GA. In the words of Ric Flair: "to be the man, you gotta beat the man" and QP haven't got a fucking chance.
  3. How was the young lad in goal? Would anyone say he looked.... Sharp? Didn't make it through for the game and having only seen the highlights it looks as though he could've done a wee bit better for the goal but did the job other than that? I've suggested it on here before, and I know that he was only playing due to injuries/covid, but I'd like to stick with him for a a few more games to see if he's got anything about him. Personally I think we're done for this season so it would be nice to see if he could be a potential long-term solution to the current dog shit goalkeeping options we have.
  4. Totally agree with this, spent the game acting as if he wasn't getting wound up by the continuous booing and Mullen not giving him a minutes peace but he very much was. Admittedly I've only seen the lad play a few times and always thought that against a team who'll sit off he looks like he cigars it, but as soon as Mullen and McGowan pressured him a bit he totally crumbled - think the multi-million pound figures being banded about previously for him are nonsensical.
  5. If the last meeting at Dens is anything to go by I think we'll all need a bit of charlie (not Adam) to get through Saturday's 90 mins.
  6. Very good point and totally agree. I forgot about him, have done so since he had his red card ban - would put him on the right of the five. Stick McMullen with Mullen but more sitting in behind since it'd be harsh to drop Mullen after his goal and general nuisance causing at the weekend.
  7. I'd quite like to see us go for a similar formation as the win against Hearts with the 3-5-2/5-3-2. Thought that if we use the same midfield three from Sunday it'll give us a good amount of legs in the middle with more of an outlet going forward, rather than leaving Mullen isolated and doing all the work himself up front. Wouldn't want Fontaine anywhere near the back three after his goal causing cameo at Parkhead and if fit Legzdins would be straight back in for me. I'd go for: Legzdins McGhee - Sweeney - Rossi McMullan - Anderson - Byrne - Mulligan - Kerr Mullen-Rudden
  8. Could we just turn this into a cats v dogs thread, it'll be more entertaining than the game itself? And for the record: cats are the embodiment of Satan - mon the dogs.
  9. Looks like I've got a case of egg on the face after my shouts of giving Lawlor a go in the sticks. I was hoping that after Hearts and his shaky start he might've gained confidence but I reckon he was at fault for the first two goals with Fontaine shouldering the blame for the winner. So with the keepers we have Legzdins has my vote of confidence (as much as that counts for) as he seems to be at fault for a goal every few games rather than one every game. Decided to bide my time before weighing in on McGhee's appointment - the input from Motherwell fans who give him credit for turning them round might ease a bit of the underwhelming reception he's received. It's likely going to be one of either a masterstroke and he takes us up the league or a complete disaster and we sink like a lead balloon, so f**k it I'm going all in with it. Hopefully he provides a few laughs along the way whichever way it goes. One thing is for certain and it's echoing near enough all Dundee fans' thoughts: Nelms is extremely incompetent.
  10. I've heard it's going to be McGhee and Scott Leith.
  11. Sounds like he's taking the bitterness of losing four players last night to injury out on the, now rampant, Dees.
  12. Dundee players during the draw singing “when the Dees go up to lift the Scottish cup”, just to be drawn against Rangers - jinxed it.
  13. McInally noticed the tactics masterstroke from McPake playing Cammy at LB and decided he’d take a page out that book.
  14. Any idea of the formation from first glance looks to be 4-5-1, thought we played really well when it was mixed up against Hearts so thought McPake might’ve stuck with it. Shame we’ve only got one available striker, not even one of the youth laddies given a shout for the bench.
  15. On Chapman I was beginning to think that since he was released by Miami in November it might take him a while to get up to fitness with no pre-season in him. But noe when you see Big Kev across the road having not played for 19 months and even more recently underwent a kidney transplant, it's likely he could just be shite. It feels very Dundee to have signed two Canadians in two years and them be the worst footballers the country has to offer.
  16. A simple exercise in football maths from recent games shows that we've got nothing to fear in this game: Celtic beat Hearts 2-1, (McPake's revitalised) Dundee beat Hearts 2-1, Prediction: 0-0.
  17. Is there a large backing for Robbie out? On the back of a promotion and having a pretty comfortable cushion for third you’d think he’d be under significantly less pressure than McPake.
  18. 3-4-3 is the way forward, thought that apart from Lawlor’s shaky start and Fontaine forgetting how to defend fairly regularly it was a good, organised team performance to remain solid with all the pressure. Decided to give the game a miss after recent results despite being in Edinburgh, so beginning to question if I’m a jinx and to give up my ST.
  19. Spot on with this. Neither is the answer to our goalkeeping problems nor are they good enough on a consistent basis to be starting in a top flight team. Playing Sharp to see if he’s got anything about him and give him a bit of experience could be a long term option but that would probably mean McPake admitting that he’s accepted we’re a certainty for relegation.
  20. I'd suggested the 3-4-3, so either I am McPake or he's reading the forum - if so Jazza drop me a PM for more tactical genius. From the intial teamlines tweet I thought it'd be 4-5-1 with Mulligan in the middle and Mullen on the wing, since McPake has a massive hard on for playing strikers as wide midfielders but I'm almost pleased that he's going for something as different as this. Has Cammy ever played RM for us never mind LM? He had a game or two in recent years as a holding midfielder which turned out to be a horrendous experiment so hopefully this one is fruitful.
  21. I think the telling thing about this team is that going into each team we look like we're capable of being on the receiving end of a shagging. After watching McPake's interview yesterday he obviously knows the pressure is on so I've got a sneaky feeling he's going to go for it, hoping this entails changing it up and not sitting back - maybe a 3-4-3 or something mind-boggling. Going to be either a massive Hearts win or the cliche snatch and grab with the change in formation putting us under pressure all night but sneaking a win.
  22. Let's hope he's Head & Shoulders above our other options.
  23. Going to call it now - McPake has us on strings and decided to wind us all up with this plan, leak it and sit with his feet up on a Sunday night watching us all online lose out collective shits. Thought to himself that he's ruined our Saturday so why not just throw Sunday into the mix as well.
  24. Apologies for stoking the fire with the post about the supposed board meeting, lads. My friend who passed it on is a second hand source himself but previous news or tips he's heard have turned out to be true until now. I'll add a disclaimer next time!
  25. Supposedly an unplanned board meeting has been called for tonight as he was at it again last night whilst on the sauce - also sent them to other mates in football who’ve passed it onto the players.
