  1. That was always the concerning thing, Jack Ross is literally the only stand out candidate (possibly Lambert) If we weren’t able to bring JR back to the club then we would most likely get stuck with a McIntyre, Hartley, Adams…
  2. I’ll never forget his OTT celebration in front of the Saints fans at Hampden when they equalised only for them to bottle it in the second half
  3. Yeah he was brought in as Joe Lewis & their youth GK were unavailable and Gordon Marshall is having surgery. If Langers goes with Jim to Aberdeen, surely he can be on the bench as back up until Lewis is fit. He’s done it a few times for us (most recently, the 0-0 v Celtic)
  4. Would expect that kind of behaviour from the “soccer” fans in the MLS
  5. Jack Ross Paul Lambert Derek Adams Kevin Thomson Paul Hartley Neil Lennon Callum Davidson Jim McIntyre Billy Davies Steven McGarry Allan McManus John Kennedy Barry Ferguson David Hopkin Is this the betting list that we can expect to see whenever the club finally announces Goodwin’s departure to Aberdeen? Its a pretty underwhelming list tbh, usual suspects on there.
  6. As I said, he was stuck with the absolute dross that Alex Rae had signed. January came around, 10 in, 10 out. 7 wins, only 3 defeats. Also the standard of player that Jack managed to bring in that window was brilliant, McGinn, Eckersley, Cammy Smith etc.
  7. Even though I’m not completely happy with the prospect of JR returning, there’s no denying that we were an absolute shambles prior to his appointment. Shankland was nowhere near as good as he was the season before, Hardie only managed 3 goals in 17 games, we had Langfield & Scott Gallacher to choose from in goals
  8. Possibly. Don’t think it would be a loan though, he’s 24 next month and has already been out on loan six times so I reckon he’ll either push for the first team or get a permanent move elsewhere. One thing’s for sure, he definitely won’t be with us next season. He’s under contract at Wolves until 2024 & Jim quoted a figure of 500k at a recent Q&A session.
  9. I see Derek Adams name doing the rounds on Twitter, he had a quite a successful time as County boss. Got them a top six spot, only missed out on European football by a point, a 30+ game unbeaten run on their way to the Premier League. I’d be all for him getting the job if he wasn’t such an insufferable nob.
  10. I remember the wee angry Russian guy, if you skip to 10:00 on the video above. There’s a great clip of Malofeev shouting at a player in Russian while Craig Gordon stands behind him absolutely pissing him laughing
  11. Yeah fair point. Not many left field appointments, plenty of rumoured names though. Guti & Patrick Kluivert probably the two that raised eyebrows at the time
  12. I think his family are settled here so I doubt he’s going to be joining Jim & Sharpy at Pittodrie. You’ve already got poppadom hands as your new GK coach anyway
  13. Would Alex Rae come into that category? The guy hadn’t managed a club in seven years. When IM left the club, you could have listed 50 potential managers and I highly doubt his name would have been on it.
  14. Fully expect to see Jak Alnwick at Pittodrie next season. Joe Lewis is 34, nowhere near as good as he was a few seasons ago & has only managed four clean sheets (that blunder last season in the LC ) Alnwick has been one of the league’s stand out GKs, seven clean sheets, some spectacular saves & arguably our best keeper since Campbell Money
  15. We can’t take any chances with this next appointment, we’re in a much stronger position than last season to get a top six finish. So we really shouldn’t be taking risks with a rookie appointment like Kevin Thomson. Jack Ross seems the sensible option, possibly Paul Lambert?
