How much money are they actually gettin punted into them? I've heard its around 5 million odd but who knows who to trust these days.

But if so wouldn't we get a fair amount for finishing 3rd anyway? With a much better squad which we can add to compared to them near enough havin to scrap their whole starting 11 apart from a couple players. With that they'll end up paying their players stupid wages they'll come to release they can't afford.

£6million. Some of it will line the owners pockets, some of it apparently on infrastructure.

i think hibs fan in general do not understand the current financial gaps between hearts and hibs.

They will need a lot more than a one of £6m which will be less than we take from Europe next season.

They’d need upwards of £4m a season just to equalise hearts, and that’s hearts pre profit from hotel, sponsorship deal, and the releasing of benefactor funds for football only.

😂 we were BRILLIANT first half, then in the second half Aberdeen were, ermmm, direct! Robbery!

I was talking about the games where we dropped points. At pittodire we were comfortable first half, second half Aberdeen went long and won just about every second ball.  Can’t argue with the result in the end.

At tynecastle Aberdeen were the better side first half though didn’t create much anything really other than the correctly disallowed goal.

Second half first 15 mins were even, after the opening goal we could have had 4 or 5 and Aberdeen couldn’t have complained.

My statement was also that the last 15 games was title contention form. The point was that it's unsustainable and that's fine. Some people have been acting like we're on the verge of collapse because we're not winning comfortably every week.

Still, we weren't robbed in those games. Aberdeen and Rangers created more than us over the 90 minutes and deserved to win. County you can argue because of the penalty decision, but a draw was fair in that game. Likewise, a few of our wins could easily have been draws or worse (such as yesterday).

People tend to reframe all previous results based on the current mood. Trying to be as objective as possible, I think we're about where we should be or, if anything, a few points better off.

yea all fair. Still a great run of form achieved without some big players at our disposal which was my overriding point. Need to build on it

He was clearly swivelling to make himself bigger and try and block the shot. But there is a big difference in making yourself bigger and then deeming his arm to be in an unnatural position.

You are allowed to block with your body/legs. His arm was to the side as a consequence of that movement. It’s a natural position for it to be in, IMO.

how does turning 90% make your legs and torso bigger?

This aside clearly the player was trying to make himself bigger without question, in doing so he stretched his arm out and blocked a goal bound shot.

it’s a penalty, the ref got it right, there was no clear and obvious mistake this VAR should not get involved and didn’t get involved.  If there’s a debate to be had it the rule not the officiating yesterday which was spot on .

anyway - I get the annoyance.  Dundee were very good and have some of the best individuals I’ve see. Is play against this season

    However the original quote was...

When, quite clearly it is in the rules.

Mate you’re digging a hole here.   The rules don’t  say it has to be deliberate do they?

thus you cannot argue that it it wasn’t deliberate so shouldn’t be a pen.

Your misunderstood both the post and the rule.

  6. 1 minute ago, AJF said:

It’s not unnaturally bigger though. It needs to be unnaturally bigger, not just bigger. His arm was in a perfectly acceptable position when swivelling his body to try and block a shot.

It shouldn’t have been a penalty, even with the shambles law we have, IMO.

There have been countless pens for far less. Why was he swivelling btw? To make himself bigger by any chance?

If you watch EPL they constantly say when this happens that turning you back on the ball is the worst thing you can do, and is used to justify pens not to argue against.

    Yes it is @DaveMackay86

It is an offence if a player:

    • deliberately touches the ball with their hand/arm, for example moving the hand/arm towards the ball
    • touches the ball with their hand/arm when it has made their body unnaturally bigger. A player is considered to have made their body unnaturally bigger when the position of their hand/arm is not a consequence of, or justifiable by, the player’s body movement for that specific situation. By having their hand/arm in such a position, the player takes a risk of their hand/arm being hit by the ball and being penalised
    • scores in the opponents' goal:
      • directly from their hand/arm, even if accidental, including by the goalkeeper
      • immediately after the ball has touched their hand/arm, even if accidental

Yes of course if a player deliberately handles of course it’s a penalty.

but it’s also a penalty if it’s an accident.  Not being deliberate doesn’t mean it’s NOT  a pen as highlighted by your bullets

    You’ve proved my point mate.

Was raging last night but on reflection thought we played really well, going forward anyway we look excellent at times and its a joy to watch. It is concerning the amount of points we drop from winnning positions though and our defence give me the fear half the time. Having a player like Shankland in close games like that is the difference unfortunately, very good striker.

What an absolute minter the "Hearts are falling apart again" song is btw

A song created by hearts fans for hibs.  Usually used when they are going through a poor run of form. If you want to steal it fair doo but Not one to be sung at a team closer to the title race than 4th 👍🏻 we couldn’t stop laughing at the stupidity

  9. 13 minutes ago, AJF said:

I disagree. I think it should’ve been referred by VAR for a review and ultimately overturned.

It was neither deliberate nor making their body unnaturally bigger. It meets no criteria for it to be given as a foul.

it doesn’t need to be deliberate, that’s not in the rules.  His arm was outstretched, the ball was on target and there was a good chance it was going in and the player was in the process of turning his back. There is zero chance it would have been overturned.

We were well beaten at home to Rangers and at Pittodrie, even if it was only by a goal.

Our form over the last 15 games or so illustrates that the more pessimistic fans over the last few weeks are partly right. We aren't good enough to keep up these results over the course of a season, but that's not because we're not 3rd best, it's because we're not title contenders. Results will regress a bit at some point, but that's fine.

Disagree. I was at Pittodrie.  In the first we were easily the better side, in the second half Aberdeen went direct and we didn’t react.

Tynecastle against rangers - rangers did nothing until the break away goal. Before the goal we were the better side and had the better chances.

Ross county at home was a complete robbery. Should have had 2 penalties instead we received a red card for Forest.

ps. I’m not arguing that we are or would be title contenders as I don’t believe that.  I’m stating that our form over the past 15 games is title contending form.  Which it is clearly

That penalty would be up there as one of the worst decisions of the season pre-VAR, but now it feels like a weekly occurrence someone getting shafted by incompetent refs re-reffing games.

    VAR needs binned.

Was sat beind the goals and it was going in.  Hand was away from the body, the height of the hand isn’t a factor. And contrary to Peter grants opinion attempts turn away strengthens the case.  In respect of these rules and some of the other decisions this season that was one of the stronger cases.

As regards the difference between the 2 teams. Dundee are a very good side, in McGowan, beck and Campbell they have some very very good players.

However I think non hearts fans are not conscious of the sheer number of players we are missing or not starting with. Shanks aside our squad is so much better than the other sides.  E.g Gordon, Atkinson, Kingsley, Halkett, Rowles, Devlin, Mackay, Boyce, Vargas, Haring, Scott Fraser, Tagawa, Denham, Tait, Pollock.   There’s 12 senior players who for one reason or another didn’t start yesterday and our best 3 young players.   I’f we had to choose from that list we’d still be contenders for third.  That’s why we are third by a street.  Not only shanks

The beginning our existence as a club is not an arbitrary date though is it. Similarly your championship promotions didn’t involve us and so are not a basis for comparison either. You started the “head to head” chat on a false basis.

How could our head to head have started before the point of aberdeens existence ?

head to head  “hearts > aberdeen”

anyway.  I sense we will never agree.

could you point to the lucky results? Surely they have already stopped based on us winning none since the split?

Glad you are off for 6 months the pish you are spouting…

Rangers . Should have been about 3 down before scoring from cross 😂

    Ross county. Absolutely atrocious

hibs last week battered you at least as much as we did.

Aberdeen are defensively very solid.  And rely on Duk who I like a lot.. top player . Beyond that?

ps I didn’t watch any more but given you’ve scored 13 goals away all season I’m guessing similar .

You do realise that 2 of Heart’s four league titles came before Aberdeen were even formed as they were in the 1890s, as were 3 of your Scottish cups. Therefore, you can’t include these in a “head to head” comparison.

You do however have a lot more trophies than Sevco, in their short history!

Ah that old excuse, you lucked into the greatest manager in history 🤷‍♂️.  Bravo but it hardly makes you something to be revered.

Hibs fans like pulling arbitrary dates for measures as well.

Here is an easy one.  Since Aberdeen were formed.  Hearts have beaten Aberdeen more than Aberdeen have beaten hearts. And generally speaking, we’ve won more points as well.

It’s a classic pugilistic style that hearts adopt. We were naive and tried to entertain a partisan crowd but alas we fell into the trap.

Aberdeen tried to “entertain” today 😂 that’s enough from you tonight mate.  Your bar must be limbo low.

I’ve watched enough slugball over the years to recognise slugball.  And Aberdeen mate. Well as I said earlier was half expecting Craig Levein to reveal himself on true Aberdeen bench.

anyway.  I’ll be back in about 6 months.

Robson won’t see Christmas take that to the bank. Once the lucky results stop you lot will be baying for blood
