Gibson is saying he's looking to hire a goalkeeping coach and a sports scientist for next season. It feels strange that these upgrades to the backroom staff are happening upon relegation when you'd assume budgets will be lower than before. I also liked him saying that he's identified a few reserve players that can play with the senior squad next season. But we all already knew that he speaks well, I just really hope he succeeds on the pitch as well.

Hopefully that one stays as a rumour, he's not the Ayr defender I'd be wanting. Edit: I also don't see the point in looking too much into rumours when we don't even know who our manager is going to be yet, or which of the current squad members are signing up. That has to be the priority for the club.

Arbroath were (probably) spending more money than us as a semi professional outfit last year, or at least similar. I wouldn't want us to go semi pro but I don't see the problem with getting in a semi professionnal player if they're good enough and that's what they want. On the whole I think we would be better off staying as a full time club to allow for a smooth running training schedule, so exceptions should only be made in rare cases.

Pybus was a bit of a random shout to be honest. Goss has scored 12 goals for Annan in League 2 so if they don't get promoted I think we should look at him. We need squad players and he definitely wouldn't be our worst option. I think we have to remember we're dropping down a division so there isn't as big a step up in quality as before.

I'm hoping that decisions made for next season are done early, so the new squad can have a proper preseason together. I would keep the core of this squad but replace those leaving with local players and/or those with experience. This is what I'd do: Give Gibson a 1 year contract as player/manager. Offer contract (in order of how much I'd want them to sign): Connelly, Rae, East, McGrory, Fitzpatrick, Cooper, Roy, Nditi Transfer options: Gavin Reilly, Aaron Muirhead, Owen Moxon, Tommy Goss, Kyle Jacobs, Dan Pybus I would also try to sign O'Connor if released but expect he'll be given a new contract.
