Ross County v Hibs (Sat, 4th May)
Tommy Tappin replied to Sonam's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
We're quite an innovative team in terms of how we keep finding new ways to lose. Apart from that, nothing new learned today. I'll repeat what I said just over a month ago, I wouldn't keep a single player of this squad. Not the kids, not cold pasta Marcondes, none of them. -

Can any team outside the OF match that in the same timeframe? -

Two possibilities to my mind. 1. We tit about like we always do and quote words such as 'potential' 'big club' 'infrastructure' etc while finishing 6th/7th 2. Bill actually turns us into a side. My money's on #1. -

We'll create 19 chances and score 1 which will be ruled out by VAR. -

Quick answer, we've no idea. The only in print things we've got to go on is Foley's promise of transfer funds and Montgonner-y saying that Marcondes and Maolida are the standard for future recruits. Can we attract such quality, Will Bill cough up, Will Monty still be in a job come June 1st...stay tuned to find out. -
St Johnstone v Hibs 27/04/24

Marcondes highlight was running straight into Maolida on the byline. He's a way too casual showpony for me I'm afraid. I'm amazed he wasn't hooked earlier. At least Boyle looked faster. -

That's exactly as I saw it. Hibs PR will spin it as a turning point though. -

Is Mitov always as good as he looks when he plays us? -

I'll be angry no matter what today. Angry if we draw or lose. Angry if we win because we can only do it when the pressure's off. -

We're past the stage of embarrassment these days, but for our clubs' relative sizes and supports, we should be doing so much better than that. -

Not 'Hibs Class', ole Malky, is he not? I reckon Hanlon still has at least a couple of seasons left in him. Less sure about Lewis. He stays fighting fit that's for sure but looked miles off the pace last time I saw him on the pitch. -

'Here are 5 dead rubbers Monty, go win them and help your agent find you your next job. Then we can say that after review, we've chosen to go a different way and you can leave with some grace. Saves us sacking you.' -

Absolutely. The only difference being that they think that third is an achievement. That said, if we ever get round to reaching the dizzy heights of third again in the future, we'll probably get drunk off it too. -

Do you reckon we're keeping him? -

Fair enough. I think his legs are completely gone and defenders have no problem catching him any more. For a guy who based his entire game on speed, that's an issue and as our highest paid player, he needs to go. -

Boyle? That's interesting. I'd argue that he's finished. I understand all the others. -

Manbun can't run and Youan can't pass six yards, look up, track back, run for a ball that's 2 yards ahead of him. Not sure how any manager is going to fix those two. They're showponies. Manbun should play in France and Youan should play down the links. -

Newell is everything that's wrong with the squad. Obita if you move him to CH and get an LB with pace perhaps. Man bun is a show pony with no pace. No use to us up here. Youan is a 5-a-side player. Either never fit or never played when fit. -

Out of interest, given that Foley wants us to become the indisputable third force in Scottish football, who in our current squad do you reckon could get us there? I'll go first: 1. Maolida That's it. Any others? -

Absolutely right, due to 'sporting failure' (see: McDermott, Monty, Johnson, Squad etc) -

Monty GTF? I'm on board Whole Squad, every single one of them GTF? I'm on board Kensell GTF? I'm mystified. CEO's job = carry out instructions of board, negotiate contracts, build commercial performance, build infrastructure Kensell is the ONLY Hibs CEO to make the progress he has. Here are some more popular failures: Petrie, Lindsay, Dempster, Hyland. None of which has delivered commercial growth that Kensell has. I know he's got a tan and is English but he can actually do his job. McDermott GTF? Possibly. Ian Gordon GTF? Probably but very unlikely Why Kensell? Are folk thinking he appointed Johnson/Maloney/Montgomery? If so, he didn't. He was involved but he didn't appoint any of them by himself.
