Billionaire to Invest in Hibs

In Vincent Guerin style, I'm going to entire ignore the content of the post and give the response I feel like giving. I'm in favour of winning more games/trophies than we do now and I'm against losing any many games as we do now. How we go about realising that, I'll leave to the management. -

...then we'll end up with players playing at a higher level than we have now without paying for them AND have had our stadium and training ground upgraded. -

We've got plenty of players who aren't capable of playing for Hibs now. At least the Bournemouth gadgy will be FOC. -

Yep, I reckon there will be far more players coming our way than going to them, given that they play at a higher level. The equation seems simple. A Bournemouth player sat in their reserves does not increase his value to Bournemouth. A Bournemouth reserve player capable of playing European football for Hibs does, whether directly for Bournemouth's first team or in being sold. -
Hibernian v St.Mirren

Monty asked for four players in this window, he's been given four with possibly more to come before Saturday. We've also got the possibility of Cadds and ALF returning to the bench, leaving only Campbell and JDH injured. He's got no excuses this week. -

Our first CH target was a guy from Sunderland who Montgomery was worked with before. Sunderland blocked that so we appear to have asked Bournemouth if they've got anyone they don't want. On your point about losing players below their true value, our player sales figure over the last 10 years has hardly allowed us to line the boardroom with gold, so not worried about that either. We've developed one player (McGinn) worthy of EPL status in recent years. The Foley deal is hardly going to block the flow. My understanding is that we're free to trade with whomever we want. Given that we've brought in a player from Hertha Berlin and another that McDermott knows, this month, that seems to bear out for the time being. As I say, 'cautiously optimistic' -

I would say 'cautiously optimistic' about this. The Gordon family have failed on the pitch and in the manager's chair so far but off the pitch, they've made huge strides forward and our much maligned CEO can certainly sell the club to sponsors and investors better than any previous CEO we've ever had. The Gordons have also delivered on all their off field promises so far in the original 5 year plan, despite the setback that COVID caused. It was interesting that the SFA wanted assurances that Hibs wouldn't be blocked from competing in Europe as a result of this transaction, which to me is a good sign that this isn't a purely feeder club arrangement, although yes, we're all feeder clubs for bigger teams. We won't trouble the OF stranglehold with anytime soon, but we might be able to give them more of a game now and more importantly, it allows us to not get left behind by Aberdeen and Hearts. Most of all, just about anything is better than the abject mediocrity we're served up most of the time. I'll take expensive disaster over that any day. Stadium upgrades, training ground upgrades and increased player budget. All from a guy whose legally prevented from directly governing us. What's not to like? -

You're welcome to him. Nowhere near what we need. Only playing because our other RB option hasn't left school yet. -

Match Review Monty: Start your best 11 and your results will improve. Never a red. We need our two proper RBs back Get the walking footballers and the project players off the pitch. -

Killie can sub their keeper off for the 2nd half, they won't be needing him. -

This tells you all you need to know about how we're feeling right now. We're currently Showpony FC and I'm not sure you'll even need to field 11 players to take all three points off us. -

The biggest criticism I can make of us is that we looked like the away team. Rangers won't get an easier three points this season. -

He's got no legs. Can't run, isn't a great tackler and so not what we need in a two man mid. -

No you can't. You can face the damage your club has done though, because it hasn't been held to account for it yet. -

No, I'm not capeesh, not even close to capeesh, because we're talking 2013 the present day, as you know, but you have to deflect, because you have no comeback against fact, because that's what you do, that's your character, that's who you are. Since your club sent businesses to their financial death, since your disgraced club made sure that mortgages and wages couldn't be paid by suppliers to your club, since your club needed a bent politician to bail your club out of your club's rightful fate, your club haven't won a trophy. Not one. None. Nada. Zip. K-all. We've won a trophy, had to beat your big brothers to win it too, loads of other clubs have won trophies since your club was brought down to size, YOUR CLUB hasn't. You've had the money, you've had the let offs, your club is the turd that just won't flush until we make it flush via a vote, but despite all the advantages, other teams bigger and smaller, have won domestic trophies, your club hasn't. Your club wandered into administration when the absent father, who couldn't even prove that he was the actual father, went missing rather than be associated with your club. Your club was unwanted, unloved, the literal b*****d of Scottish football, all thanks to how it'd treated those who supplied them. No matter the money your club has had since then, your club continues to spit on the hands that feed you, no matter the players, no matter the forgiven debt, your club just spunks cash for no return due to their birthright of entitlement delusion. Your club is Scotland's greatest living sporting liability. We've won silverware since the great levelling. Your club hasn't. -
