  1. When your basically under pressure to win every game you aren't going to rely fully on an untried youngster just coming back from injury mind you. It's therefor no surprise they brought Cameron back.  It looks to me like we are building a group of attacking options involving a couple of young players that won't be costing us very much. I'd still expect another striker in before the window shuts.

Could be we don't fancy paying as much of the wages as Dundee United want as opposed to we can't compete. If we've only got the money left for 2 signings McGlynn might not want to spunk the majority of that on Mochrie.

Striker wise up to that point we only had Pedro, graeme Churchill and mark Stewart the latter two not playing a single game that season.  We had gow who could fill in but was never going to score a lot of goals. He got 7 that season with 3 in one game though. If stokes hadn't been signed we'd have been fecked as we found out when he buggered off and that was despite adding finnigan.

It’s not desperation as much as realism for me. Our current options in that position are Aidan Nesbitt and Seb Ross- Telfer is a far better player than both.

We’d all have loved someone more consistent to come in and replace Telfer. That hasn’t happened and if it’s not going to, I’d far rather have Telfer in there than our current options.

I actually think Telfer could be a lot more effective this season now we have Mcginn in the controlling midfield role. With Hetherington posted missing there last season, Telfer was effectively having to try and do 2 jobs.

Christ finding someone more consistent than telfer shouldn't be difficult he'd only have to perform in 2 games out of 15 compared to telfers one. Telfer won't be coming back he was emptied because he wasn't good enough just like some of the others would be if they weren't under contract. We're trying to move these guys on that have underperformed for seasons not bring them back. It's an absolutely crazy idea . We need to get these losers out the club as soon as possible. We'd like more of them out but that's not been possible so far but will happen in time.

    Really!!!

Both teams are in League 1 for a reason. Just because you are full time doesn't give you a right to thump every part time team you come up against. We are where we are on merit as last 4 seasons have proved not by luck

Aye really and I never mentioned that we should be hammering teams like Montrose anywhere in that statement so no idea where you are getting that rubbish from. We should be able to put a side out on the park that can  compete with Montrose instead of getting beat comfortably . I really don't see what the issue with that is.

McGlynn was appointed four days after our final game of last season. Discussions would obviously have been ongoing beforehand, therefore it is safe to assume that he had final say on the released list. Had McGlynn wished to retain Telfer then he would have been offered a new contract. Shouts for him to be re-signed say far, far more about the absolutely pitiful quality of our final third options than they do about any great belief that Telfer is somehow part of the answer to our glaring problems. No thanks.

Exactly. Morrison, mcguffie, nesbitt and hetherington wouldn't be here if their contracts had been up or the club had managed to offload them. More chance of me playing for Falkirk  this season than telfer it's as simple as that.

  6. Would be a remarkable turnaround if we won the league this season given how dreadful we were last season.  It's going to take time but I'm just happy at the moment that teams like bloody Montrose arent pumping us any more.  Can't see telfer coming back . Mcglynn would have emptied the whole lot this season if he'd had the option including telfer so having got him off the wage bill there's little chance of him bringing him back.

For those who don’t have Facebook, I just wanted to make everyone aware that we lost a fellow bairn, Euan Anderson, a few weeks ago. There’ll be a minutes applause on the 25th minute today at the game to celebrate Euans life, organised by the guys who run the Jimmy Gilmour Shuttle. One of our own and always in our hearts.

25th minute. Was that his age? Christ that's young bloody hell. Heart breaking that.

We've just qualified for the next round of the league cup, beating and knocking out a Premiership club along the way (Hibs wouldn't have qualified even without the 3 point deduction) . I should be really up for the new league season ahead but my enthusiasm is as flat as a witch's tit. Why? 4 games played, 1 goal scored from open play. Where oh where oh where are the goals going to come from?

While I am no where near as concerned as I was last season after Sheerin's appointment, I still think that we are in for a long hard season. In the third tier.

2 players could turn everything around. A creative midfielder and a 15-20 goal striker. Some posters are much more patient than me and seem prepared to wait until the 30th September deadline to get the "right" players in. F*ck that, I want them now!

I don't see a long hard season at all. As it stands we won't lose many games but I don't see us winning many games by a barrowload either. We've gifted goals in recent seasons which has made it easy for sides this season that won't be the case and teams will actually have to play a bit to get past us.  We should be there or there about come may.

How many of these ‘free’ boards were genuinely free though and how many were in exchange for services provided to the club?

They were still free if those providing the services stopped providing those services but the boards were never removed. Complete shambles and at the very least reeks  of a can't be arsed attitude from the previous lot.

McGinn and Mackie the pick of our new signings without a doubt.  As others have said though we're completely toothless up top.

On the basis of the games so far, I think we won't lose many at home and we won't win many away.

A positive is we look far more solid - on the other hand we looked pretty good (better even?) at this time last year and look how that turned out.  Will feel much more relaxed about the season once we have a few league games under our belt and hopefully a few wins.

At the moment though, all things considered,  I think we're in line for 3rd or 4th this year - we need to improve.

I don't think we'll lose many full stop to be honest. It's how many draws we can turn into wins that will be the real issue.

Correct, he’s done. Been said a few times, has a successful business outside football, and many offers which he’s continually knocked back to play in the north.

He certainly looked done when he played for Peterhead but he was the top scorer in the league last season with cove. Wonder if he'll maybe move back to Peterhead.

A few managers publicly complaining about the early start to the season with the games. Not sure if a few of them are just pissed off at losing out, or a genuine pop to the timing.
Had a quick look at all the attendances and surprised at some of the very low turn outs from some of the SPL teams. Maybe its just a diddy cup for many………🙄

Classic case of sour grapes coming from managers under pressure due to horrible results.  The likes of Hibs should have squads big enough to rotate and still beat league one sides like ourselves.  Lee Johnson won't have to worry about it again as he'll be sacked well before next close season anyway.

  13. The new bod aren't perfect and will make mistakes but at least they are doing everything to try and improve the club. The last mob were not just   incompetent but down right criminal in their actions . There's loads still to do but at least we appear to be heading in the right direction.  That doesn't mean they should be devoid of criticism when necessary. They shouldn't get a free ride just because the last lot were a bunch of crooks .I've got to admit I never really use the website I just Google or use the sky sports app for any info I need.
