I've never said he'll want Hibs to be bad. I'm saying Hibs are locking themselves into a situation where they are at best third in the priority list. And it remains to be seen how easy it is for them to get out of it. The dangers are obvious, and the difference between Hibs and Lorient is obvious. People are just choosing to ignore it.

Seen a few people hitting out with this "we're feeder clubs anyway" rubbish. There's the obvious point that this removes the club's choice, which is a material difference in the current situation (see the McGinn deal), but I also just fundamentally disagree with you about the nature of the club's identity.

I wouldn't want my club being structurally subserviant to another one. This makes Hibs just that. I think more of their fans will be uncomfortable with that than will say it out loud online.

If Man City bought into Hearts, I'd never go back. You can believe it or disbelieve it, but it's consistent the stance on fitba I hold in pretty much all areas of the game.

Hibs are at best third in the priority list when it comes to transfer dealings with large clubs in Europe anyway.

Reality is the outwith the old firm in Scotland the rest of us are so far down the priority list we are at risk of fading into football obscurity.

Our whole game up here exists to prop them up basically everything involves around them.

Truth be told post covid and VAR I have found myself rapidly falling out of love with Scottish football (think I have saw yourself state similar), this investment genuinely excites me as a fan, how can that possibly be a bad thing?

That's not mental gymnastics, but ok.

And I'd dispute your point. I think what I've pointed out is a logical conclusion of this type of deal.

As for your point about the Hibs board requiring my expertise, I think you misunderstand their motivations. I'd imagine the Gordons will have the call on this. Their motivation is not the same as yours as a fan. They want a return on their father's investment. Hibs' long-term future is less relevant to them.

As a fan, you should be asking more questions and doing less cheerleading.

Making up fictional situations about Bournemouth getting a CB for free from Lorient before selling to PSG for £20m, please point me the way of an example of this ever happening.

You know the Gordon's motivations now? They want to see through their fathers ambitions, if that involves getting a minority stake from a billionaire who will invest in recruitment so be it.

Foley initially expressed interest in a Scottish team not to prop up Bournemouth but to challenge the Old Firm and regularly qualify for Europe, doesn't sound bad to me. If somewhere along the way we have to sell a player to Bournemouth (who if he is good enough to play in the Premier League we would be losing anyway) I am sure we fans will be more than happy if the other other promises are fulfilled.

Curious as to what you mean by mental gymnastics.

In what sense have I been inconsistent?

You are making things up based on pure fiction, or your understanding of things (which doesn't appear very educated) through your maroon tinted glasses.

You are going to be one of the top posters if you keep this up, if you are slightly nervous about your rivals getting additional investment whilst you are stuck scrounging off your fans just say so.

I wouldn't say our squad is awful but I do think we have been set up wrong over the last few weeks to get the best out of the players that we have. Without wanting to sound like a tactics bore, (as it's a short jump to becoming an attendance counting w**k, or jambo if you prefer....) 4-2-3-1 would suit our players better. Levitt is definitely more a 10 than a 6.

I came away from the game saying the same thing to be fair, the formation doesn’t suit our best players like Boyle, Vente and Youan.

It’s criminal that we’re not creating enough chances for Vente who has shown he can put them away..

Still think our squad is awful though, just have to look at the bench yesterday.

I agree. Left him so much space. After letting Lee Johnson sign about 400 players we are still in dire need of signing more, what a mess.

Our squad is awful and yesterday proved that. Nothing against the young laddies but you should be relying on 16 year olds to win you the game in semi finals.

Sorry, I'm going to sound like a pedantic p***k here, but I didn't actually give any inference of "second team" as such, and I totally accept the point you make that he does (aas I think does his co host) consider Aberdeen as 2nd team.

It's the sookin' up "Hibs are the team of the luvvies and artistes" that is a bit cringeworthy

    Christ mate who cares?

    Random Thoughts:

    • How do the players get told that a manager has been sacked?

    • How many sacked managers can you be told about before you start wondering if the manager is the only problem?

    • Next manager isn't going to last either.

    • The much hated Kensell has taken Hibs from £8.6m revenue (down from £8.9m the previous year on Dumpster's watch) to £11.9m up to last summer, while getting the wages to turnover ratio down.  He now needs to make us profitable as he's only posted 1 profitable year so far; but fans who want him out, why? Tan and accent? too cosy with LJ to sack him (oops)? Too Tory? Too successful?

Because he has been heavily involved in appointing Johnson and Maloney.

    • McDermott oversees recruitment, why is he not getting flack for this summer's signings?

What signings deserve flack? Season is still very early. Don't think any signings deserve criticism and some look good so far, Veta, Obita

    • Kit Gordon now owns us and delegates day to day responsibility for protecting her investment to Ian Gordon, like Farmer did with Petrie. Why isn't Kit Gordon getting any flack for the state of the club, like Farmer/Ron used to?

I highly doubt she is involved at all. By all accounts when Ron was ill in health Kensell was running everything, wouldn't surprise me if that is still the case with help from Ian.

    • Fans who wanted LJ gone are now criticising Hibs across social media for punting him while the window is still open AND were criticising Hibs if they punted him once the window was closed.

Are they really? I am not. I think club deserve credit for acting swiftly, season can still be saved.

    • Most of what Hibs fans want (removal of manager/removal of deadwood players/investment in squad/stated club ambition/infrastructure improvement) they get, yet they only ever moan about how bad things are.

Are fans of must club not the same? Should we not moan given our recent history?

    • Are Hibs destined for permanent mediocrity, given that everyone signed or appointed 'needs to go' less than 12 months later?

Do you think Johnson should have been kept like?

Not answering them all but some are easy to respond to.

What would the script be for Villa (a) tickets should Hibs progress? I’m assuming there’s some sort of points system on the go - does having a season ticket for x number of years (15+) help or is it more to do with away games?

We have a new system where 500 "Hibs first" members get early access to away tickets. After those are taken up it will be a scramble for the remaining tickets between STH's. We will get roughly 3k tickets so loads will miss out.

Also not confident about getting through tonight so it is a moot point.

From what I've heard the players respect McAllister and Gray but think Lee is a bit of a dick.

And as you say he's had a lot of experience doing the Wednesday/Saturday routine at both Sunderland and Bristol City so how can he not get Hibs to do it? I have my issues with Hibs and he is one of them. The ridiculous post match statements and the continual crap tactics do my head in. The fact we are still playing two sacred cows from the 2016 Cup Winning team and show no sign of saying "Thank you but it is over" is another thing that I find maddening.

Agreed, I think making Hanlon captain this season was a bad decision. It hasn't worked well in the past and he actually had one of his best seasons in a while last year when he wasn't captain.  When he is captain he becomes the scapegoat for a lot of fans when he isn't always the one to blame.

It should have been Newell imo.

Just such a bad excuse, we knew this was coming why not use pre-season to  prepare? St Mirren and Motherwell have played more competitive games than us as well.

One of the main selling points of the guy is that he has loads of experience down south where they play 2 games weekly, why doesn't he use said experience then?

Yogi, Caldwell, McInnes, Lennon & Brown I must be reading this wrong because this should be the list of candidates that Hibs wouldn't want at any cost, can't believe people are genuinely touting these guys 😂

No one is genuinely touting Yogi or Caldwell. Lennon as well if they are at least semi sensible.

Quick look at Hibs.net is absolutely jarring reading.

Folk clamouring for Lennon and McInnes, jeezo.

Neil Lennon had an exceptional 6-8 month period from January 2018-August 2018.

Is everyone forgetting us limping to the championship title despite no competition with what felt like us drawing every week, an average at best start to the following season, improvement after January recruits (Allan, MacLaren, Kamberi etc) then an utterly dismal campaign where we were sitting 8th when he was punted.

And as for McInnes, if you thought Jack Ross’ football was boring and 2/3 of his seasons being absolute failure then I hope you enjoyed that because McInnes would be the same. I have mates that support Aberdeen that completely stopped going due to being bored to tears under him.

Hearts & Aberdeens job vacancies came up and they were linked with exciting names like Chris Wilder, Marti Cifuentes & others who don’t have the history of failure in this country and our fans want those two clowns in, we truly get what we deserve.

A year ago I was firmly against McInnes, after a year of Lee Johnson I think I would take him.
