  1. .............so Graham; and Andy - what was it that first attracted you to Darvel?
  2. You really do talk utter bollocks at times. Your own team's financial outlay for some time far exceeded what is a sensible and realistic budget for a team at our level and with the size of support that you have. There is nothing wrong with teams sharing facilities - surely in times of financial strife it makes more sense than ever - by your logic AC Milan and Internazionale should have been punted from Serie A for sharing the San Siro The mess that Clydebank found themselves in during the late 1990s was nothing to do with overspending on players and everything to do with a series of charlatans intent on using our league status to pursue their own ends The facilities at Holm Park have been consistently improving in recent years and visitors to the ground supporting a variety of teams have commented on it. There is still work to be done if we hope to progress further but it is a work in progress. I had a good chat with your manager when he was up watching the Clydebank v Auchinleck Talbot game the other week and he was complimentary about the work being done at Holm Park both on and off the park.
  3. Really enjoyed it - he also let slip that one of the upcoming episodes in the new series sees The Doctor and Ruby involved in some form of battle in Abbey Road studios with The Beatles !
  4. Very comfortable win for The Bankies with the visitors only getting on the scoresheet thanks to an absolute howler from Bankies keeper Jamie Donnelly Good win for The Bankies considering they were missing several regulars through injury Meadow were really poor and look in big big trouble
  5. Half Time at Holm Park Clydebank 2 ( Liam McGonigle 15 mins , Callum Graham 27 mins) Irvine Meadow XI 0
  6. Clydebank 2 ( Niven 10 mins , McGonigle 51 mins ) Kirkintilloch Rob Roy 0 ( Green sent off 35 mins) FT Very comfortable win for The Bankies on a miserable night at Holm Park - should probably have scored a few more but very happy with another win and another clean sheet
  7. Frank was also excellent during his one season with my team Clydebank at the start of his career. During that 1978-79 season he formed a formidable partnership with Blair Millar with the pair scoring over 60 goals between them as we missed out on promotion to the Premier Division on goal difference. He moved to St Mirren for a then record Scottish fee of £150,000 and would give excellent service to both Saints and then The Dons before his premature retirement from the game due to injury problems. A few Bankies fans caught up with him a few years back when he owned a pub in Aberdeen and he was an absolute gent and spoke fondly of his time at Kilbowie. He also scored a hat trick for The Bankies in a January 1979 friendly v a full strength Rangers FC at Kilbowie in a 4-0 win for The Bankies- team lines from that game here: https://www.clydebankfc.co.uk/matchdetails.php?id=4351 This is also a link to a Biography of Frank from our excellent Bankies Archive site developed and maintained by Stuart McBay if anyone is interested: https://www.clydebankfc.co.uk/player.php?id=144 A great player for Bankies and a great player for Saints and The Dons - may he rest in peace
  8. Looks awfy like the East Kilbride kit for Season 2024/25 ..................
  9. Will be a very difficult game - the Bens U20s are an excellent side - the two sides met last week as well with The Bens winning on penalties after a 1-1 draw
  10. The following players have been released by Clydebank FC: Kyle King Kevin Green Josh Weir Hamish McKinlay Coby O’Brien Tiger Lawson The club has so far signed Strikers Callum Graham and Thomas Collins from Irvine Meadow and Kilwinning Rangers respectively The following players are contracted to the club for for Season 2023/24 Jamie Donnelly Adam Hodge Calum McEwan Danny MacKenzie Creag Little Jamie Darroch Oisin McHugh Matt Niven Larry McMahon Frazer Johnstone Joe Slattery Alan Kelly Liam McGonigle Lee Gallacher Connor Higgins Ben McLernan Nicky Little Ciaran Mulcahy
  11. I agree - It may be the case that Moffat and the management team are looking to change formation this year and perhaps go with two up front I've always argued that despite his fantastic scoring record Nicky Little is not a striker but a 10 - maybe we will see him playing in midfield more often next season?
  12. It was Dylan MacDonald who played for EK on Saturday not Aidan McDonald who did play for The Bankies earlier in the tournament in our win at Newlandsfield v Pollok - Josh Bradley-Hurst was in goal for The Bankies that day
  13. To be fair to Harthill when you look at the line up in East of Scotland Division 3 for Season 2022-2023 its an absolute no brainer for them from a travel perspective. 2022-2023 Third Division View Club P W D L F A GD Pts 1 Armadale Thistle 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2 Bathgate Thistle 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 3 Bo'ness Athletic 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 4 Edinburgh College 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 5 Fauldhouse United 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 6 Harthill Royal 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 7 Livingston United 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 8 Pumpherston 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 9 Stoneyburn 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 10 West Calder United 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
