It certainly appears to be a small, blond, female child....which of course fits the description of Madeleine. If I was the McCanns I'd be heading to Morocco as we speak. If this does turn out to be their kid they have been incredibly lucky....fingers crossed it his her.

Problem with this case is there's zero evidence to support anything....who did it or who didn't do it. In such circumstances people will speculate...it's only natural. However, I agree with your main premise that as of yet the McCanns are guilty of nothing more than bad parenting....let's hope it stays that way.

He just beat Goran in the final at the 02 arena to trouser $100,000. For those who hadn't heard of 'Turbo Tennis' (ie me until an hour ago) it's a smaller court where you play for 30 minutes and games go to a sudden death point if it gets to 40-40. Not a bad idea.

A year or so ago there was talk of Novak Djokovic wanting to play Davis Cup for GB. If that had happened we would have owned the trophy. Surely if the global coverage of this case was going to come up with something it would have done so by now...can't really see the point in more campaigns. If it was up to me I'd spend the million on hiring 10 of the worlds best private detectives to spend a month investigating the case. If that doesn't work then it's time to get on with their lives and hope that something turns up in due course

Anyone remember Suzie Lamplugh ? She was the woman who disappeared after she left her west London office in July 1986 to show a man called "Mr Kipper" around a house in Fulham. She was never seen again and was officially declared dead in 1994. 8 years and the useless UK plod couldn't find the woman. It would therefore appear it's not only the Portuguese police who occasionally have problems solving crimes. You'd have thought from all the xenophobic pish that's been flung in the direction of Portugal that we were somehow any better...doesn't appear to be that way.

Mad Phil's latest rant about the police wanting to check cuddle chops or whatever that toy is called is beyond bizarre. She claims it's typical of the Portuguese to do such a thing as an 'afterthought'. Well as Ron B has said the McCann's weren't suspects until very recently so why the hell would they want to see Gerry's laptop, Kates diary and good old cuddle chops....if they weren't suspects it was all irrelevant. They are now suspects so it is relevant...not exactly rocket science

If it went to trial they would need to do a hell of a lot more than get a case dismissed because of circumstantial evidence...the watching world would need proof they didn't do it otherwise the story will simply never go away.

Never mind Murat what about the Russian bloke who was in the frame for the dreadful crime of owning a computer To be honest I just can't believe the McCanns would have been behind the death of their kid....if they were then they have been extremely clever and convincing in the 100+ days since. If it was them when was it supposed to have happened...what did they do with the body....how have they managed to cover their tracks ?? Nah...for me the Portuguese are simply pissed off at all the criticism they have had and are sending out a warning that if they're not left in peace to get on with their jobs then they'll start fighting back.
