  1. Ali Spalding was miles better than Virtanen in my opinion. No disrespect to Miko, I hope he does well and did have a couple of decent passes in the second half; tackle didn’t look great mind you. But would rather have Spalding in there. We definitely look a lot better and on another day we take a chance or two and win that. Sinclair and Flynn look great additions. Stewart and Coulson will cause teams big issues out wide - just wish they’d start 5-10 yards wider and higher to get past defenders. Thought Reilly was also really good today. Linked the play well and always gave an option - the finishing will come. A small, picky complaint but I’m absolutely fed up with referees making mistakes that could come back to bite teams. Dow gets booked for trying to stop an attack but fails and Alloa still attack therefore it’s not a yellow, hasn’t been for two years. But ref still books him and that could come back to bite him with a suspension later on or a second yellow in the game.
  2. Think initially all we need from Flynn is for him to get his foot on the ball in central midfield and play a few decent passes across the park / forward. We haven’t had a guy like that since Low left. Which is shocking really but it has been a real weak spot the last couple of years. Hope Goldie starts himself as well as he’s the best ball winner in that area. Hopefully today is the day but Alloa are no mugs. Think on paper it may actually be the toughest game yet.
  3. Not trying to have a go at anyone as I understand it’s volunteers who run the social media. But can we go back to event by event updates on Twitter for fans who can’t make the game. Was on holiday for the game midweek and found These updates every 20 mins is daft and really leaves you in the dark. Ended up just looking at Dundee’s.
  4. Just for the avoidance of doubt the ref blew at 90 mins today - scoreboard clock was 5 mins slow for some reason. Thought we were decent today. I actually like Steele, Tam and Hammy as a back 3 with Wilkie, Bisland, Stewart, Walker who can all fill in a wing back roll. Callaghan looks like he can pick a pass and Innes Murray also impressed. Also thought Ryan Dow did really well up top. A lot of running and challenged for everything. Improve the finishing and it’s a definite option for us if we need to mix it up. overall that’s got me looking forward to the season starting a little more
  5. Just watched the highlights - about 1 minute 30 in the build up to the first goal totally sums the season up. Ball goes out on halfway for a throw in and everyone switches off allowing them to get it unopposed and score. You kind of need to see it to see how bad it is. One thing I’ll say is Norey didn’t have a great time of it tonight at RB. Was beaten multiple times. BUT he was not signed as a RB. When he was further up the pitch tonight he had some good touches, looked composed on the ball and made a couple of good slipped passes. I would really like to see him given a chance for next season in league 1 and showed with MOTM award this years he can play
  6. Would have made no difference to the outcome as Raith were miles better in all aspects but late contenders surely for Most stonewall penalty of the season and softest penalty of the season. Thought it from the away end but having watched the highlights I’m genuinely confused as to what makes Connelly fall over? And the ref bought it?!
  7. The manager - as per usual - was straight down the tunnel and gave zero acknowledgement to the fans. The vast majority of who stayed to applaud the team off the park despite paying £22 in the knowledge we’d probably get hammered again. There’s no character there, no inspiration, no appreciation or connection with the fans and no way they can stick with this manager. Fair play to the guys who came across at the end and showed their appreciation for the fans and to the fans for sticking with them. If that is to be Ricky Little and Mikey McKenna’s last game for us I hope they felt the gratitude at the end.
  8. At this level a manager should be able to set a team up and have a plan of how to play. As the discussion tonight showed I’ve no idea where any of our midfielders and attackers were actually playing and that’s down to the manager and his team. Also if he’s left McKenna (undeniably one of our best and most energetic players) on the bench purely because he’s not here next season. The gtf
  9. I can see why folk want the conversation to end cause it’s going round in circles and he’s been backed by the club. Thats a fair point of view to have but you can’t say that it’s pointless people chatting about the club letting McIntyre go. I know things were more positive after this meeting but I remember thinking Lumsden spoke ok at his pre season chat with fans and we all know what happened there so forgive me for it not making me feel any better. Fair play to Gold and Stewart leading some of the players to the fans at the end and to those players who acknowledged the home support. As mentioned above, I was also looking for our manager to show a bit of leadership and to acknowledge the fans the end and he was nowhere to be seen which to be honest I think is absolutely criminal. Show a bit of something that shows us you want to be here as well. I tell you it’s done nothing to help the case for him to stay
  10. My highlight of each week now is watching the assistant manager showing the subs a folder of something before coming on implying that we have some form of tactics.
  11. Nah changed my mind now 9 at the back second half please Jim. In all seriousness he cannot leave all those guys on the pitch. Respectfully don’t give a toss what next seasons plans are. Bird on and give guys like slater and norey a run out because there’s no way they can be any worse
  12. Looks like a back 3 for Arbroath. Stewart and Delaney wing backs and Mackinnon, Dow and Gold in central midfield. Something a bit different which I don’t mind
  13. I understand the who’s in the plans and who isn’t thing but getting a goal back and then not sticking Bird on just makes you question why we bothered going today or why they even named subs. Like at least look interested in getting something from it. Not sure how fit Norey is but would like to see him get a chance before the end of the season as he’s shown decent glimpses. We got some joy - and a goal second half by actually clipping the ball over their defence and getting them turned towards their own goal but stopped doing it as soon as we scored which is frustrating. I’m not expecting flawless silky football every week but yikes most of the first touches today were shocking.
  14. Still in disbelief this is the same team. We were so good that day. Played them off the park. Slater and Dow had moments that prime Iniesta and Xavi would’ve been proud of. Maybe the nostalgia is getting to me there. Actually think that’s where it started to unravel. All 11 starters were class and worked well together - Steele and Tam CB were solid and Norey was great at RB but Dick changed the team the following week and we were poor against ICT and it’s been downhill since
  15. Having to watch the stream as I couldn’t make it up to the game. Could someone at the game tell the cameraman to stop zooming in and out! It’s really jarring Commentary is so poor also. Surely It’s not them that do the audio comms cause you’d have no idea what’s going on.
