A drunk Rangers fan in Germany told me earlier that the Asian company has or had something to do with David Murray.

He didn’t say that was anything to do with the delay right enough.

Perhaps the drunken ramblings were completely misinterpreted……

    He said “Navid….blah blah…..curry….”

    You heard “David Murray”

Ibrox “can you get all this stuff done before the season starts?”

Fits the bill somewhat given the demographic of the Rangers support.

Solo shot and Captain bonus for @Molotov and his team of Scottish footballers

As I said when I put my first ever entry into this mad area of the forum….

To be honest I hope I am a null pointer.

I don’t want any of my heroes to die.

    Ever.

Hope that helps explain my choices.

I think my remaining choices were all from the Scotland 1974-82 WC Squads.

I probably spent more time writing this post than I did thinking about and writing out my pool.

This is my first ever entry to the world of Deadpool.

I had met and talked with Aber a number of times down the years.

Despite the challenges he faced off the park after his career ended he was so humble about his playing career. He was extremely proud of playing for St Mirren and helping is finally win the 1987 Scottish cup. The last captain to lead an all Scottish side to the trophy.

He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him but remembered by all who saw him represent the Buddies.

That dressing room of our heroes during the golden decade of 77-87 is one shirt lighter unfortunately.

What a defensive midfielder he was. Priceless in todays game.

    RIP Aber.

    Great book if anyone’s interested.

Id have stuck McTominay up top next to Adams or Shankey,

You could have stuck Mbappé up top and it wouldn’t have mattered a jot.

  4. I witnessed such euphoria in 78.

Some would describe this this as utterly delusional but we on the other hand fcuking BELIEVE the impossible is always possible.

Remember Denmark (1992) and Greece (2004) being written off without a ball getting kicked.

You’ve got to be in it to win it.

Perhaps Steve Clarke and his squad just see this as a warmup tournament for the next World Cup?

    Why not win both!

    I have a dream!!!!!!

  5. Complaints mount as transformed Johnstone tennis courts used by 'grown men' to play football…..

    IMG_0627.webp.917eeda6cafd2ad8f31e53a6da61f6be.webp

Councillor Iain McMillan standing outside the tennis courts in Park Road, Johnstone

He said: "I have had several complaints from people who live roundabout that area that people are getting in and actually playing football on the tennis courts, which I don't think is the right thing to do. I got a message from the wardens service to say that grown men were playing in the tennis courts, so it's not your usual 12 and 13-year-old boys chancing their arm. Grown men are turning up in their cars and playing football on the tennis courts.”

Anybody up for a game tonight?

Usual time for P&B 5 asides. Bit earlier tonight as we have the Scotland game on.

Then afterwards to Divs for the usual beer and hot tub after match festivities.

  6. Been an incredibly moving few days. Watching veterans trying to stand to attention during the Last Post moved me to tears this morning.

Many family members served in WW1 and WW2. Most never talked about what they witnessed and experienced.

I still cherish the medals and service records I have in my possession. Some family members threw the medals in the bin when they arrived as the experience they endured was fcuking brutal. Thankfully other family members recovered them and passed them onto me for safe keeping.

Sadly there never will be peace in the world while we have corrupt politicians and evil dictators.

Not sure this is true. There's a statue of him outside the ground so most people at least know who he was.

When I used to drink on a regular basis in the Swan and Mitre during the 90s hardly any fans had heard of him or knew the significance of the lion rampant and the history of Scots at Villa and the football league.
Given his statue was only unveiled at Villa Park in 2009 I think you can see my point. I had left Villa Park behind a few years before.

A straw poll of 40,000 Villa fans going to the ground these days may also back up my claim! 😜

The Swan and Mitre was a rough old shop. Had some great times in there plus a few other pubs around there. My knowledge of the Scottish history of Villa proved valuable when dealing with some hard core fans who may initially have objected to my Scottish accent. 😂 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I believe the old boozer has also closed now and become a B&B.

Dont know about you but I fell in love with Scottish fitba, not the plasticy English shitey version.

Aye but back in the early 70s English fitba was dominated by Scots - players and managers.

The English football leagues were even founded by a Scotsman.

William McGregor (13 April 1846 – 20 December 1911)was a Scottish association football administrator in the Victorian era who was the founder of the Football League (now English Football League), the first organised association football league in the world.

Big Wullie was also heavily involved with Aston Villa due to its Scottish heritage.

His story is very interesting and not many Villa fans appreciate his background and the club crest.

Villa have been my favourite team since 1974.

    Plasticy?

As far as I’m aware there are no full plastic artificial pitches in the top English leagues. 😂

    It's a strange strategy

Most of the charges relate to deceitful bookkeeping to make it look like they were complying with the rules.

Even if they somehow get those rules changed the duplicity, deceit and fraud remain.

    Money (and lawyers) talks…

I would pish myself if they won, and the damages bankrupted the Premier League in the process

    I like your logic. 😂

That would likely lead to a European/Saudi league.

Money has killed the sport I fell in love with.
