  1. M&M inherited a decent squad? It's amazing how'll you just make up anything to suit your argument. Have a look at their first game v Linlithgow and you'll see some shockers in there - Gary Miller, Denny Johnstone, Connor Sammon, Ian McShane. Need I go on?
  2. There is an in-built logic that if they are bringing the finance function back in-house it is because it either doesn't work or it is more expensive than hiring someone to do the job at TFS. If it was working well and was a cheaper option then why would they bring it back in house? Surely we can agree on that? But indeed, lets wait and see at the AGM. See you there
  3. Ah that old classic. Dare to remotely question the actions of the current BOD and you must automatically be a member of an old regime. As brockvillenomore would say - tiresome and sadly all too predictable.
  4. And what would that agenda be? There is no contortion. The previous finance person left and rather than replace them the club decided to outsource the finance function. They've now realised that was an expensive mistake and brought the role back in house.
  5. Might have been better not to have outsourced it in the first place?
  6. A number of staff quit last year which brought the head count down.
  7. Thanks. I don't recall seeing the FSS AGM or who stood for the committee. But I might have missed it.
  8. That's interesting. Who decides who those attendees are and how are they empowered to vote for all FSS members?
  9. Never understood the vitriol towards MR and SA personally. Decent Falkirk fans who have put their hands in their pockets and attend more games than the vast majority of the regular posters on here. You couldn't paint a red neck on some of the individuals who slagged them off for years but were happy to go cap in hand and ask for their cash.
  10. I'm guessing you just copy + paste a message from someone who was actually at the game?
  11. Let's say I believe what you're saying in the first para (I don't but there we go). If the club was raising around 24k per week in those seven weeks then that comes to circa £168k. Aren't you troubled that the Board would knowingly put out a statement to the fans which says we need to raise £600k by the end of the season when in fact the figure is less than £450k (based on your figures). I thought we were meant to have a new era of transparency?? Can't really argue with anything in your second para
  12. Years of selling advertising. Why do you think the club is heavily discounting sponsorship and retail items? Hint: because people ain't buying it!
  13. That's an easy one. The vast majority of commercial income is front loaded - people buying advertising, shirt sponsorships, retail items etc etc. They buy these early in the season as it makes sense - if you want advertising or to put money into the club you'll want the biggest bang for your buck. Very few people are buying advertising now (why would you pay for an advertising board in January with only a handful of home games left?) and the retail stock is heavily discounted. I'll happily eat my hat if we raise £600k by the end of the season (unless we get fresh investment or go on a cup run).
  14. "...there's still another £600k of income to be generated by the end of the season." Falkirk FC Statement dated 20 January 2023.
  15. Why would I want to miss it? But if you think we're going to raise £600k between now and the end of the season then good luck to you. Only way that's happening is with a decent cup run.
  16. I agree it is total income. However we were told that the Board had increased the income targets for this season in order to fill the void. My point is that if we've yet to reach 100% of last season's figures yet, then we haven't even started to meet the extra. Limited opportunity to do so too given we only have six home games left this season (more if we progress in the cup and stay in a playoff spot ofcourse).
  17. Not so sure. Read the statement again. At no point does it say the funding gap has been plugged. What it says is the auditors have said the club can present unqualified accounts. That is not the same thing as the funding gap being closed. Interesting line that we've only met 98% of LAST SEASON'S income. I was under the impression we had set ambitious income targets this season. My reading of the statement is that we've barely reached last season's income levels never mind anything beyond that. Indeed the statement says there is still £600k to find between now and the end of the season. So no, I don't think the gap has been filled.
  18. Nope. An announcement was apparently made to a small group of sponsors but nothing to the vast majority of fans. So much for transparency
  19. I'd be shocked if we were paying any of his wages tbh. At the time it was a convenient move for both parties - Hogarth was guaranteed game time while PJ was injured, plus he's a local boy who could provide his own accommodation thus saving FFC some money. I guess now that PJ is back we couldn't guarantee that Hogarth would start and although Forest won't need the money they'd probably prefer to pay him to play for their 23s rather than sit on our bench.
  20. You've got your dates confused. Ompreon and Ruth came after Wilson so if the latter was our main striker than why sign the former?
