  1. It’s not merely a financial decision I’d think. Some people intrinsically disagree with the owner system and probably more importantly how it is operated. The current situation where we may be bottom of the league on Saturday should not be restricted to the few owners who bother to turn up and vote at AGM’s…this should include all fans, some of whom are not owners but who spend much more than some owners every season. ”Right arse” I assume was meant to be “tight arse” this is not a typo- you are a “right arse”
  2. He has stated he brought in the players he wanted. End of conversation really.
  3. So, when you disagree with someone, the insults fly? The potted history of Danny’s career you kindly provide does not alter the league position we are in. Knocked out the cup by Clydebank, but it’s all good, he won the league cup with St Mirren. What a comfort! “Loyal commitment”? He was almost both feet through the door at Firhill at one point and only someone’s personal cheque book and an improved contract prevented that closing out. So please don’t preach unbridled loyalty. A full time job at the Club he captained was a much more attractive proposition. Rankin in his first job, inherited a depleted squad, at a Club that is so skint they’ve had to roll back the clock 35 years and take us in as tenants. He’ll end up being a very good manager and well beyond our standard. He’s a regular, well respected pundit on tv, respected by his peers and the industry in general but you, who has no insight, foresight or apparent knowledge of football feels justified in backing our current manager against him, despite the evidence in front of your nose and being insulting with those whose opinion differs to yours. You only have to look at the league table, listen to his post match interviews, witness his tactics and team selections, watch the silly PR exercise podcast on the eve of our 7th straight defeat and hear him giggling about players in fancy dress whilst we the support are getting our heads around almost certain relegation or playoffs and it’s only the 3rd week of November! And you have the temerity to suggest it is I who requires a sanity check?
  4. He needs to leave. Pay him off if possible, or continue his salary if legally and contractually obliged to. Put him in his garden and let him concentrate on his other income stream with planet soccer. We need someone wealthy who may do it pro bona, someone with links to the Club and someone whose managerial career needs revitalised. An opportunity to rebuild a recently tarnished reputation. if we had a good negotiator on the Board they should be making contact with said person right now to sound him out. Anyone got Jack Ross’s number?
  5. A premier league manager? You referring to Danny? If so, do you think he is still a premier league standard manager? If the contract allows a 3 month release as being suggested and Rankin would come….. they won’t, but they should.
  6. We have had our differences and spats previously, but there is absolutely nothing in your post I can find to disagree with.
  7. Yes, the self same. Not many sides have gone to Inverness and come away with 3 points. He’s an exceptionally good coach, a great role model for players, widely experienced at many levels and with great connections. Any questions?
  8. Sadly, you might be getting to see lots of new grounds in a couple of season’s time if things don’t change, and quickly. Not sure DL had that much to do with assembling the promotion winning squad in truth. I think the chairman at the time and FD at the time did that for him. And don’t forget, DL thought it a great idea to play our best CB for years at RB….. a nice wee guy, but it’s time to change and unfortunately we have missed out on our chance to bring in John Rankine who was ready, available and willing post the Clydebank defeat……. Unless our hosts go down and they let him go. I’d have him in a heartbeat.
  9. Not open heart surgery- catheter procedure to sort hole in heart. Entirely possible he’s sorted and able to move on to gain match fitness
  10. 9 goals conceded in 2 games and dropped from second place to 3rd bottom in a few weeks might suggest there’s a bit more to be concerned about than the strip. Tactics dreadful for the second half yesterday. Players look demoralised, and who wouldn’t playing a system which clearly does not work. Falkirk, then Montrose next up in the league and if we retain these tactics we’ll take no points. We are only in mid September and already closely checking who those below us are playing each week……. how long before we can only look above us to check? Could not care less about the kit and I understand the comments were in defence of criticism from an Airdrie fan, but the lack of debate on here as to what’s happening on the pitch is as worrying as the problem itself. Are we all so absorbed and consumed by the move? If so, no-one seems too interested that the main Board director who was the lead on the relocation group has resigned and left the Club and our former interim Financial Director has now assumed the Chair of the Club Foundation which is the entity bidding for Crown Point. Nothing to see here obviously? More players in? Is there the budget? Do we have faith in who is having final say on players? Tactics? Playing a back 3 with poor wing backs who are integral to the success of that formation is madness. A long, very long season ahead if something does not change quickly and in the short term that has to be a back 4 with protection in front. The back door has got to be closed and fast before we hit the bottom of the league. But never mind eh…. we’ll be back in Glasgow but competing at what level?
