  1. I think folk need to calm a bit, aye it's been a frustrating couple of seasons but these early group games are always a mixed bag with players at different levels of fitness and general game time. Certainly seems to be new season, same old shite from some of the helmets in the support though eh? Takes a special kind of entitled p***k to boo some of yer own players on to the pitch during the first home game of the season.
  2. Don't think you'd get many Thistle fans agreeing with that.
  3. Aye, as I said, he was fine during his purple patch under Alexander. My "shambles of a player" comment was probably more in frustration at another shitshow from him last night, but overall he's really not been good. He's not been alone mind you, Kettlewell has been given a bloated squad lacking in quality, looks like he's doing everything he can to sort it though.
  4. I do think there was a bit of a split in the support when that happened. Recall a lot of people saying it was the ideal time to part company. Can't argue that he had a purple patch towards the end of that season under Alexander, but overall I think he's been a pretty awful signing. Really didn't understand the desire to keep him, especially after he had pretty much demonstrated his desire to leave.
  5. Lamie should have been punted when he signed that pre-contract with Dundee. Shambles of a player.
  6. Ahh, cheers Captain. I didn't listen to the presser, just had seen comments suggesting that he was after two. As long as turns of phrase don't become the dreaded "can play anywhere across the front three"...
  7. Did Kettlewell not indicate we were looking for two strikers? I took from his comments, and the fact he didn't feature at the weekend, that Shields was away. So maybe a replacement for him and another?
  8. Folk really need to move on from this. We risked it last season it didn't work, wild that people would happily see budget used for someone who looked like they were really struggling and could barely get fit enough to play. This whole "he gets it", "bleeds claret and amber" birthday caird pish is what got us into bother last season, especially when deciding on the manager who made these risky signings. Louis was class for us when he was here first time, and is loved by supporters for that, but we canny have folk taking places in the squad if it's unlikely they will play, Kettlewell literally said this last week.
  9. Got to say, quite pleased that we didn't try to bring him back again. Judging by his comments previously I don't think Kettlewell was ever entertaining it. Louis was outstanding for us in his first spell and he'll always be a hero for that. But seeing him last season, it was clear he wasn't over his injuries, was sad to see. All the best to him, seems like a proper nice guy too, but I think the club have made the right call in not pursuing him again after the transfer mistakes of last season. From a football emotion perspective, at least he's not playing for a team we're facing in the league.
  10. There's Furlong signed a new deal at Brighton, hopefully we can get him back in on loan if still a possibility.
  11. Gardening leave? Knowing Morris he'd probably try to mow the decking...
  12. Blyth started against Accies at home in some midweek game (0-0), everyone else was injured. He was brutal.
  13. Absolutely incredible series of events eh? Hammell was some laugh as a manager.
  14. Looks like Dundee Utd have deleted the post with this picture. They've reposted the tweet with the other three images that were originally with this one...
  15. Thought that Kettlewell came across well, again, in that interview. Calm and honest and personally I didn't think he sounded anywhere near as frustrated as was suggested in the written versions of the story. I don't think there is any real reason to panic at the moment, as @crazylegsjoe says this squad should have enough to get through our League Cup group. If we're still looking at the same group of players at the start of the league campaign, or when the window 'slams' shut, that's perhaps a different story.
  16. Not to go over it all again, but I still find it mental that Hammell got that job, over actual managers, because of some birthday caird pish that the board peddled.
  17. The reply guys are maybe all over on Threads losing their minds about it...
  18. Aye, it's one of those where the optics of it don't look great but there will be a bit more to it. You'd imagine Casey would be one of the higher earners at a LOI team, where as that probably isn't the case if he was to stay with us or join another Premiership team. Hoped he would have stayed but as others have said wouldn't keep hanging about for him. Might as well use my shite "phew, I was worried in Casey left" comment now, might not get the chance to again...
  19. Aye, we know we'll never be able to offer earth shattering wages, but if true that's really not a good look...
  20. Surely must be getting to the stage of us saying the offer is off the table to both Goss and Casey? FWIW I'd have been keen to keep both, especially Casey, but if they don't want to be here then fine. Goss has been great under Kettlewell, but if someone suggested back in January we'd be waiting around for an answer from him by the end of the season, you'd have thought they were ripping the piss.
  21. Not sure there is much new in the Burns tweet, budgets are always tight and we will miss out on top targets every year, I'd imagine. Squad 100 per cent needs work but still a fair bit of time to sort it.
  22. What a guy Kev is, gutted he's away but good luck to him. Absolute hero.
  23. Fair play to big Kev, he's more than earned the pay day. As others have said, good that, by the looks of things anyway, it's getting done quickly, rather than it dragging out all summer.
