  1. 4 games inside 10 days can't have helped us. The loss of our talisman striker and an anchorman midfielder has seen us suddenly look fragile, as evidenced by the thin bench against Hearts on Monday - which included a sub keeper and a defender. Not ideal. But I took comfort from the fact that we gave a good account of ourselves against a top-quality team who are 3rd in the Premiership and who'd beaten Celtic in the game prior. We looked more like the Morton of recent months, with commensurate workrate and commitment. A crucial game for both sides as the OP says. I also have zero idea how it'll go.

Calm down mate and be proud of your team. Look at the cretin's profile pic. That's actually him. He's only on here roasting alone in his scheme bedsit because he can't pull a lassie and he couldn't afford to go to the game like a proper Hearts supporter.

  3. No shame in that. It was largely inevitable that the game would be won or lost by a single superlative strike from either team - Hearts in the end showing their class and clinical ability to finish. An outstanding performance from us against a superior team who could well have sliced us wide open on another day. Congrats to Hearts - but we gave you our best shot. I'm really proud of our bargain-basement boys.

The bigot brothers not drawn against each other in the semis? Who would have fucking believed it? You'd almost believe it was fixed. Go on yersels Jambos. Win it. Hearts founded in 1874  - same as 1874-founded us, and the 1874 anniversary of the Scottish Cup. It's in the stars.

  4. Respect to all the sound Hearts fans who've been on here since page 1. F**k all the arrogant Johnny-Come-Lately roasters. What I'm looking at is one team who are 3rd in the Premiership (and deservedly so) - against  a side who who have the lowest budget  in the entire Championship. Hearts are playing beautiful, flowing fitba as befits a side of their quality - but we're (so far) stifling them through sheer guts and resilience. What we're lacking in skill and quality - we're making up for in fitness, workrate and commitment. An 0-0 HT score in itself is remarkable. Not sure about the two yellow cards - but whatever. I think the ref's done a decent job in allowing the game to flow largely unimpeded.

All to play for in the next 45.

I'm not sure airdrie were deliberately being that clever, calculated and cynical, but they pretty much targetted our best players and, even though they coudn't beat us, they effectively stopped us from winning any of our next three games while they've caught up. What was most surprising was the ref watched them do it.

My suggestion would be to fuckk off right back onto the Partick/Brian Graham Fanclub forum where you belong. You have yourself a nice evening, now.

    A broken hand?

Bert Trautman played through a FA Cup Final with a broken neck.

    Just saying like.

Off topic, but there's a brilliant feature film all about Bert Trautmann called 'The Keeper'. Well worth a watch if you have Amazon Prime or Netflix.

Here's the No 1 away day as seen last Saturday. Will it be our last for a while? Mixed feelings 😇

    Sad. Really sad.

If/when Lichties do go down, I can well see myself occasionally taking the 150-mile drive up there when Ton are away to Caley or some similar teuchter. Away days for me are inevitably about the fitba - but just as much about the enjoyment of the day out in another town. Having been there more times than I could possibly recount - Gayfield's 100% the best. I'd rather take a drive up there than sit at home on a Saturday.

    Smokies for supper, too.

Best wishes to all LIchties supporters.

I think this thread constitutes a heads gone. Discuss.

With respect, I don't agree. Whilst the OP has plenty of form with Morton fans for his outspoken (and largely unpopular) opinions, the reaction and comments from supporters of other clubs has been overwhelmingly balanced and realistic. Ambition and hope for the future of your club is both admirable and understandable - but it only means something if it's actually achievable. There comes a point where ambition and hope just dissolve and blur into optimistic rose-tinted fantasy. This is exactly why local rich blokes buy fitba clubs. And look at how most of those scenarios have turned out.

The board of any 4th or 5th tier side could easily put out a mission statement tomorrow stating that their goal is to be Premiership champions within 5 years, followed by a 14-0 Champions League final victory over Barcelona in front of a millions-strong TV audience. Anyone with half a brain cell would immediately know that's an impossible scenario, no matter how much ££££ was thrown at it. At the very least - I wonder how new signings Kane, Haaland and Mbappe etc. (managed by Brian Clough, recently revived having been brought out of cryonic suspension) would feel about getting their kit on in an unheated Portakabin on a standless, reclaimed landfill pitch located up the arse-end of Scotland in the cold and pishing rain.

The OP has a beef with Morton's stated short-term ambition to be a top 16 club in Scotland. Fair enough - that's his opinion. But top 16 to me, is an eminently realistic goal for a club at our level - as are the real-world ambitions mentioned by other supporters on this thread, who are. all grounded enough to say something similar.

So - heads gone? Nope. Apart from the head of the OP, maybe.

Right Morton.  We kept our end of the bargain - to keep your unbeaten run going.  Now you keep yours and beat Utd eh?

We sworded them at Tannadice, I see no reason (barring our worrying injury list just now) that we shouldn’t pull off another result. We’re now in the unprecedented situation of having a gentlemanly Raith Rovers supporter encouraging us to beat United, along with equally polite Ayr, Airdrie and Pars supporters on the Ton vs. Caley match thread all rooting for us to hammer the teuchters on Saturday. The outpouring of Morton love gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. 💙🤍💙🤍💙

So this chap had me believing he was a pucka well connected and well adjusted fella. Are you saying he's no richt in the napper?

I’d honestly no say any more, mate. There are clearly reasons why the OP posts the stuff he posts. I think the best thing to do is to stay silent and not react.
