  1. End of the season. Can’t see it getting renewed….in the minority here but I like Kane and Clark and think that partnership looked promising but you can’t rely on either being fit for more than a couple of games at a time.
  2. Clark rested as a precaution after feeling his groin tighten on Saturday. Kane is a mystery. Maybe rolled his ankle playing 5’s?!
  3. Fair. He definitely wasn’t the finished article but I do think he improved massively over the season. Like you say, perhaps Considines experience made him look better than he was but seems a good fit for Motherwell and with his contract up with Celtic in 2025 it’s make or break time. Another good loan spell at Motherwell could see him as one Celtic could develop but if he’s inconsistent or injury prone again then I think he could be let go by Celtic and in that case I still think he would be a great signing for any other club in the spfl!
  4. Montgomery certainly won’t be cheap! Sure he was one of our highest earners at St J! However he got better and better as the season went on and I’m sure most saints fans would have welcomed him back with open arms. Great signing and seems a good fit for Motherwell even if temporary. Got pace down the left flank and likes to drive forward. Great at tracking back too. Has been injury prone at Aberdeen and Fleetwood but he was really solid for us so hopefully he’s over the worst of his injuries.
  5. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/transfer-news-live-celtic-rangers-31781164?utm_source=linkCopy&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar Apparently a non-starter for Livi I did wonder how they would afford his wages when Martindale claims he’s shopping in Primark! I would imagine Halliday is still on decent wages at Hearts.
  6. I think they had to respond like that but it will be interesting to see how it actually plays out. Will Collum get another game at Ibrox and if he does, will his decision making be influenced by recent events, same goes for other refs….
  7. How do people think this will play out? Double down by the SFA or Collum doesn’t get their games for a while and they ignore requests from any other clubs for audio/meetings etc? It’s a dangerous game I think as it could open the floodgates for everyone else to demand answers on the numerous dubious decisions we’ve all suffered.
  8. That’s a matter of opinion though like most handballs are. I can see why it was given but that doesn’t mean it was the right decision when there is nothing a player can do about a ball hitting off his arm via a deflection. That’s not a deliberate handball to me. Would other refs have given it? Maybe, maybe not. Just like the Johnson handball, some people say stonewaller, other says natural movement and no penalty. Most of these decisions are controversial.
  9. I would like to think the penalty wouldn’t be awarded now as it deflected off Goldson and Brown had his hand up. Wasn’t trying to “catch” the ball or stop it being a goal, he was using his arm as leverage to get up and unlucky it deflected and hit off his arm. It was at a time any contact with an arm was deemed a penalty. Think we’ve rightly got away from that to a degree now. So at the time I felt it was three harsh decisions but understood why the penalty was given. Wouldn’t be pleased however if that decision was made now.
  10. Rangers vs St Johnstone at Ibrox last season. Colum awarded them a penalty for a handball against James Brown - one of those what is he supposed to do handballs but by the letter of the law it’s a penalty. Colum gave a yellow I think initially but upgraded to a red card to Nicky Clark for a high tackle on Ryan Jack. Red card rescinded on appeal as turns out zero contact made but we had to play with ten men for a lot of the game. Not long after that Colum gave a yellow for a reckless tackle on Adam Montgomery by Ryan Jack and VAR sent him to the screen to review the decision. Colum stuck with the yellow. Three poor decisions in one game. Can’t remember St Johnstone demanding meetings with the SFA and refusing for him to officiate though! On the other hand, seen Colum have perfectly decent games.
  11. Ok I’m going to leave this here. Some people have to work over Xmas. The point remains if you to its acceptable to not offer e-tickets or have a pitch that can withstand normal Scottish weather then fair enough. We clearly have different expectations.
  12. Key worker. Not that I have to justify that in ANY way to you.
  13. I don’t think it will happen. I think it should happen.
  14. The clips on social media do disservice to your ground staff, I don’t need to. That’s why I said I stand to be corrected as I do appreciate social media can sometimes paint a flawed picture of the actual efforts that go into things behind the scenes. Anyway I hope by some miracle the rain doesn’t pour down on that one patch above Dens for every future game. Meanwhile the point remains Aberdeen and St Johnstone fans and clubs have a right to feel aggrieved at the postponement of games and the general arrangements by Dundee FC. Had Dundee for instance publicised a cash gate in advance and had online ticket sales like every other club in the premiership, Saints staff wouldn’t have had to work extra hours and people wouldn’t have had to stand in queues of 45 mins yesterday for physical tickets for a game that was never going to go ahead due to your pitch not being playable. Club should be fined or it will happen again and again with no recourse.
  15. That being the case then I can’t see how Dundee will manage to squeeze in more inevitable call offs in an already overly busy schedule. Can’t be good for anyone. The club really need to look into steps to mitigate this to prevent further postponements even if that means digging deep into their pockets. Having been at the Georgia game at Hampden where freak weather was experienced and the game still went ahead then with the right resources and investment anything is possible but it seemed to me like Dundee did next to nothing to get the ground ready. Stand to be corrected on that point though as I don’t know how your club runs but even pushing the game back an hour or so didn’t seem to be an option.
  16. Our pitch was awful last season but the club invested in it over the summer for this very reason. I understand the reluctance to invest when you’re moving site however it’s not good enough for this season and the club need to address it. How they do that is the clubs issue but fans and other teams are suffering as a result and rather than do something about it you’re hear calling anyone out for quite rightly being annoyed at what transpired yesterday in what was a completely avoidable event had the club taken necessary steps over the summer to sort the drainage out.
  17. How many games were called off yesterday in Scotland?? Of course I understand the risks and had it been particularly adverse weather nobody would have an issue with it. It wasn’t. Your pitch isn’t fit for the premiership or any other league for that matter. if you can buy players you can sort your pitch. End of.
  18. It’s not just that the game was called off though, it’s the whole tinpot way Dundee FC is run. Paper only tickets Cash only kiosks Game called off despite the weather not being anything out of the ordinary for a Scottish winter. Many people, myself included, had taken the day off work and paid one of the highest prices in the SPFL to go to a game which ultimately was called off hours before kick off. Just not good enough for a club in the top tier of Scottish football. Saints staff had to come in on a day I’m sure they would rather have spent with their families to process paper tickets and then the game gets called off after a lot of fans had already set off for Dundee. Shambles and the club should be fined for the whole debacle and seriously get their house in order as it’s no way to run a club in the premiership.
  19. Same one who thought he was too good to play in the SPFL
  20. The prices are also disgraceful. McD 1 adult and 2 under 12’s = £18. Dundee - £50 for the equivalent. Given our run of away games over the festive to be taking as many as we are to Dens is fantastic.
  21. Merry Xmas to all the Killie fans too and you will have all of us backing you on the 30th
  22. Good game in the end once we started playing. If Nicky Clark stays fit we will be absolutely fine as we actually look a threat when he’s on the pitch. I’ll need to see it back but looked like Brown was awful again and nearly cost us another goal. Killie looked spooked after we got the goal after completely blowing us away in the first half. Desperately need some pace down the wings. Shame the Killie boys felt the need to start a fight with FCU and likely will continue outside the ground. But well done to Killie. Any team that beats the ugly sisters gets my support.
  23. Armstrong and Kennedy are a constant threat. Fast, good on the ball and great set piece deliveries. Would have loved Matty back at saints but the wages Killie offered blew us away apparently. We’ve four away games over the festive period, tomorrow is costing me easily £100 between tickets, bus fare, snacks and that’s just for one adult and two U12’s. When you factor in the number of away games we have it’s not surprising there will be a low away support. £41 for tickets for tomorrow vs Saints equivalent family deal at £18, combined with Xmas makes it a big ask and we all know the season hasn’t been great for us farmers!
  24. That actually gave me a right good laugh hope you’ve got a VIP space looked out for our finest John Deere . Is Matty Kennedy injured? Doesn’t seem to have been playing much? Always liked him at saints and thought he was your best player at the last game at McD. GMS brought in for short term to cover him?! Think this will be a tough game for us, feel like we are still due a defeat after Considine playing basketball in your box. 2-1 but hope I’m wrong and it’s a Nicky Clark masterclass…!
