All things Dundee FC

I’m with Dave on these comments. Nobody wants to join in a chant with words to for example about Marajuana and Coka. Some people don’t want to embarrassing themselves. Chants that everyone knows gain the most traction are the ones that have been existence for a while or chants easy to understand like the Portales, McCowan and Cameron ones. They don’t have the numbers or a loud voice like the other ultras to copy chants that people begin to understand. -

Those “ultras” of ours are embarrassing. Pitch invading in a meaningless game. Only a handful of people knowing words to chants, wearing balaclavas and all 12/13. Switched my season ticket to the main stand so I don’t need to listen to that drum that is louder than them. Thinking back to previous Dundee derbies and other games were there not older fans at the front section? Not many older fans go to the home games and I reckon that section are part of the problem. -

Feel sorry for Robinson, He didn’t get much notice from anyone as the end of the game -

I’d take 250k for Cameron. He’s no as good as people make out. People comparing him to others that are far better. -

Yes we should look to sign someone better than both of them. -

I like Murray but I don’t think he would score as many for us as he would for Ross County. The goals he scores are usually running through on goal which doesn’t really happen for us. We might change our style of play or formation in the summer. I’d like us to switch to a 4231 next season and bring in Van Veen who is unable to get into the Kilmarnock team due to the form of the other strikers. He’s powerful whilst being technical and would score many goals given the right opportunities. -

Max Anderson is definitely good enough to be apart of next seasons squad. -

If I’m a centre back I’d much rather play against Bakayoko. When he get subbed off the centre backs are still fresh. Murray is always moving and would panic a centre back even if he isn’t a huge goal scoring thread. -

I wonder which Liverpool players we will get after the meeting between us and them. A poster on the other forum said Burnley are part of our club now and have an influence on our future playing squad so they might not agree with having the Liverpool loans. The same poster said that we want Boateng, Costelloe and Donnelly for next season which I would be pleased with. Costelloe and Donnelly I’d hope would be backup to Reilly and another new LCB but they could definitely improve being given a chance and a run of games in preseason. I think the preseason is so important for squad players because they may be lacking confidence coming on with not long to go in games and unable to make an impression. Every player usually plays good in preseason which gives them confidence and fan backing. -

Neither of them suit or style of play but if you are comparing both them as strikers then Murray is the better player -

Murray is miles better. I’d take neither but don’t get the obsession around Bakayoko he doesn’t even try, no good foot, doesn’t jump, doesn’t header and lacks pace -

A more realistic signing I think would be Dylan Easton. He is versatile and he would be a decent squad player. I think Docherty was assistant manager when Kamberi was at Aberdeen. He is now a free agent and Docherty would get the best out of him in our style of play. -

Yeah it depends on what kind of fullbacks we get in. Beck wasn’t as effective in a 4 at the back. If it’s 2 attacking full backs we’d need to have very good centre backs and two defensive midfielders. I like Portales on the ball but he can’t defend. He always stretches his legs out instead of running towards them. Hopefully we can attract better quality players with the season we’ve had. on the other forum a poster was saying how Burnley are having an influence on or playing squad which I am interested to see what that means for us. It may mean we sign players that nobody has heard off but Burnley like which can be positive but a negative in the way that we have less players with SPFL experience. -

Docherty saying in his press conference that it was good to know that defence is a weakness going into the next season. -

The main reason why the game changes when Main comes on is that we aren’t changing the style of play to suit Main. It will be difficult to get rid of Main but we should now be able and get a target man that can link up play and do more than Bakayoko. I agree with 2 new centre backs. Docherty likes to change the formation so I agree 2 centre backs. McGhee and Donnelly most versatile in either formation. 3 strikers and 3 out and out centre backs and also McGhee and Donnelly. -

There’s players out there that can lay off a pass first time but also work hard, win headers and offer a goal scoring threat. May as well have Fin Robertson up top -

I just can’t see what he does to progress the team forward. He doesn’t do enough to earn a contract. Surely other players will be frustrated with him jogging about the pitch. I’d keep Mellon and Robinson but they won’t want to stay. -

Who would you keep from the players we have loaned in? -

Josh Campbell, Van Veen, Jordan Jones and Jason Kerr would be some transfers I’d like. Don’t know how much Burnley have a say in our signings but those players would be a good balance to our team. -

Anderson I’d like to see given a chance in pre season but can’t say I’ve watched him much. Cameron is overhyped for me. He’s awful off the ball, not as technical as some think and poor decision making. I really don’t know what level he is at and league he would go to. Maybe a Peterborough. Portales can’t defend but good on the ball so maybe he will go abroad or a team closer to home. Bakayoko is only good at linking play on the ground which isn’t enough. Need another 7 to start and the rest as backup. I also think we need an experienced coach in the coaching set up to help us see out games. Like tonight, if you can’t defend, score more goals which was easy tonight against a very poor Rangers team. -

I’d only keep the following: McCracken Carson McGhee Astley Donnelly Sylla Boateng Mulligan Robertson McCowan Anderson Reilly Tiffoney Need quite a few new players for next season -

I agree after looking at their injury list. The new lineups I made would mean that the Rangers midfield would be outnumbered. I’d let Cameron stay further up the pitch to give Rangers something to think about. The strikers aren’t the biggest but quite quick so I think the game would suit Tiffoney, Mellon and Main but unsure the best option. I am confident Sylla will be able to deal with Cantwell if that is who he’s up against. Just need to attack them from the start and put maximum effort in -

McCracken McGhee Astley Portales Donnelly Sylla Mulligan Boateng McCowan Main Tiffoney I think this team would be problem for Rangers weaknesses and their missing players. -

I watched a short documentary about him when he was at Central Coast Mariners and he said he didn’t want to leave. He may want to come back to settle in Scotland. I reckon Docherty would get the best out of him and he would score quite a lot of goals. He is still popular amongst the fans. -
