  1. Can't say I ever watched a game with this lad in charge when I didn't notice him...
  2. Aye, I remember that on the home kit, so assume it was the same for the away.
  3. Look, look, look! I can post still images without context or depth perception as well: And opinions from pundits who call it a "late tackle" when he wins the ball cleanly before McCausland even reaches him are null and void. How on earth can it be late? If anything McCausland is the late one. The ball there is miles away from either of them and he catches Casey on the thigh.
  4. The conspiracy theorists would have you believe it's because the front of that strip has a diagonal stripe that looks remarkably like a piece of attire worn in July.
  5. That's why I love it so much. They tried so hard to blend in and then they just cried and cried and cried and it was fucking glorious.
  6. I'm still smiling (I'm the first aider on the left, my brother is on the right). This is up there with my all time Motherwell photographs.
  7. I would imagine they can be as detailed as we/the club/Society would want them to be; clauses etc. added to final offers, so for example, "in the event I X wishing to sell their stake in the club at any point, the Well Society and/or Private Shareholders will be given the opportunity to raise appropriate funds to buy them to retain full ownership" or words to that effect.
  8. That's my understanding from what was said. Newly issues shares.
  9. That's the kind of apathy that will see this club die. Get her telt.
  10. Yeah, the survey data would be really interesting to see. I'm really hoping the result/turnout motivates people to get more involved, if they can/are able to (like, there may well be a number of members who are sadly no longer with us, who still receive e-mails to a long since forgotten e-mail account). Like, I'm not sure if I were a WS Board member I'd be comfortable voting on behalf of a 72% block of shares within the club if the turnout for a final investment vote is less than 50% of its membership. How can they say they're representing the views of their members if less than half of them voted? Like, surely there needs to be minimum turnout requirements for something with such large repercussions? I guess that depends on the articles under which the Society was drawn up.
  11. I do like Blaney as a LCB in a three; he's absolutely not a LWB though. He's not really put a long run of starting games together that I can remember. He always seemed relatively assured enough and composed when he did though. I think his last start was what, Livi at home in December? Difficult to judge when he's been picking up niggles here and there and maybe hasn't been able to. He's signed through next season along with Casey isn't he?
  12. Erm. Maybe something to do with the restructuring of the board to include more directors etc.
  13. I would tend to agree with both you and Wellin here; I think Kettlewell has been on the receiving end of a consistent period of abuse/vitriol from various sections of the fan base (and I include myself in that) over the course of the season. The difference with Hammell was it was in a short, and very sharp period that it escalated almost unanimously within the support. There have been rumblings about Kettlewell throughout the season, but perhaps not to the same degree. I daren't go near posts by the club on there really, other than to check out lineups and other #content. I don't bother with the reply guys now for this reason.
  14. My biggest issue with Barracuda (TM Stuart Carswell) was that he started to believe he was untouchable and could do what he wanted because he'd kept us up the season before. It doesn't feel like Kettlewell is that kind of person/manager; he's always come across as pretty self-aware and willing to accept his failings and learn from them (even if that has taken longer than some of us would have liked).
  15. If you'd told me at the start of the season he'd be contributing to a goal in 50% of his games, I'd have thought you were mad. Incredible the development he's shown over the season. I'm aware a lot of those are in the last what, 10 games or so, but still. Deserves all the praise he's been getting of late. Even not having a great night last night, he put in a shift (he definitely looks fitter than he did in the last 20 mins of games) and put in an excellent ball for Vale; not sure he'd have managed that earlier in the season.
  16. Agreed; I think he'll grow into that role and I guess the role he's in is one we needed to fill without a recognised defensive midfielder in the squad with Cornelius gone. He took his time to get into the first team, so I think it's fair to say he might need some time to develop into that long passing pivot type. Definitely excited about the wee man and how he can be developed, though. Clearly loves his fitba and loves being here. I think him and Bair being besties from how he reacts to him scoring etc. is absolute class. That kind of enthusiasm and character is what we've been missing for a fair bit of the season. Love to see it from him. Heart and soul into every game.
  17. And if we hadn't gotten a result at the bottom team in the league you'd have absolutely lost your shit, right? Other than adapting training and asking his players to take that on board on the pitch, there's only so much the manager can do, it's down to the players to carry all that out. A good chunk of the blame for the poor run lies at the feet of the players (individual mistakes, poor decision making, throwing the ball in etc. The manager can't control those). He has made the changes I've mentioned above and we're beginning to see the results of that. As a team, we're absolutely never going to have games where players don't make mistakes that could potentially be costly. The issue we have had this season is that they always seem to have been costly (i.e. Kelly maybe hasn't bailed us out with a good save, or a last ditch tackle that worked last season hasn't this). After the first goal last night, the defence barely put a foot wrong, particularly in the second half (I didn't see the first as I was making my own footballing howlers at 7s). I struggle to understand why people are being so critical of him when he's clearly been working with the team to try and fix these errors/mistakes. I accept that he is due some criticism for his game management and other decisions he's made and yes, it is infuriating to see the same mistakes from the team week in week out, but you can absolutely see he's learning from those mistakes as well; last night is the perfect example of that. The starting XI wasn't working so he changed it and we scored 3 goals and dominated. These things don't always happen overnight, look at Bair. Look at Davor. Look at Gent. Yes the more "senior" pros haven't helped at times (frankly, Butcher shouldn't be in the squad ever again) and neither have injuries. What is it, 12 injuries this season that have lasted at least a month or longer? That's wild. The squad have never, ever looked like they didn't believe in him or given up like they did under Hammell and Alexander. That shows you that he's a good leader and manager. Also, he's 39. This is his second job as a manager. He's going to make mistakes and anyone who thinks otherwise (or that we'd be able to attract the kind of manager who isn't going to) isn't being realistic. But he's clearly learning from them and developing as a manager, as you'd hope he would. I think you're right; I do like Davor as a sitting ball winner, but he needs someone around him/in front of him to play forward passes like you said. He's not a proper pivot (yet), but he's absolutely the right kind of combative midfielder we need sitting behind Miller. I wouldn't be surprised to see Kettlewell and the coaching staff bring that into his game and help him develop into a more complete number 6 type.
  18. Therein lies the (granted, relatively small amongst an otherwise excellent communication) problem with the question itself; it's open to interpretation. My understanding from the discussions AGM was that it would set the precedence for negotiations moving forward, like you. However, as it is open to a bit of interpretation, the vote may well be closer than people think, as there is still the option to vote down any potential investment proposal that removes fan ownership after it's been presented. That, granted, may just mean investors will back out because they think it's a waste of time to put a lot of effort into their due diligence and final offer(s). A bit of a double-edged sword. Personally, I don't think it'll be close and the vote will be to retain fan ownership; but I guess you just never know?!
  19. My understanding is that the end of this financial year will have the club sitting with a £500k cash balance (and the Society sitting around £750k); that doesn't necessarily equate to us making a profit this year but we're on course to be "in the green" as it were.
  20. Just checked; he's started twice and has come off the bench four times since the 3rd of February, so he's been involved in every game he's been available to them.
  21. Get some ink on yer arms and shite wristbands and you're sorted for life.
  22. Exactly this. £10k a week or whatever for 4 years will have set him up for a significant period and support his family as well. Sensible option all round when you take his knee/injuries into account, too.
  23. Can I also recommend growing as thick a beard as possible to match said hat.
