Most tinpot things you've seen in Scottish football thread for this pish.
1 -
Our crowd on Saturday was almost 20% less than our previous lowest crowd EVER in the Scottish Cup, that's completely unheard of. Here's the lineup from that previous all time low just for comparison:
Colin Stewart
Grant Murray
Mark Smyth
David Craig
Billy Gibson
Ricky Gillies
Jimmy Gibson
Darren Brady
Sean Kilgannon
Mark Roberts
Stephen McConalogue.
If PTFC Directors are treating such obvious warning signs about the dangers the club faces as so trivial (I refuse to listen to the remarks to be honest) then they are actively failing their responsibilities to the club.

Weather has been horrendous up here with flooding. How’s things in Maryhill? Any chance game could be in doubt?
No such luck unfortunately. Game will definitely be on.

Victor did. And are you saying TJF don’t want new members ? Some fans still need persuading to join TJF, so even although their communications and professionalism have been exemplary in the past, doesn’t mean that can be complacent.
I would say complacency is not joining TJF when the future of the club is at stake. I can't understand why anyone who is remotely engaged would not be signed up at this point.

I don't see how playing 45 (or even 90) minutes in a low key friendly is going to give Liam Kelly any sort of experience he wouldn't already have from his over 100 top flight appearances.I don't think it's unreasonable to think that playing for Scotland, even in a shite friendly, would be a different experience for Liam Kelly. He's playing with much better players than he's ever played with before and probably would have been under more scrutiny given our general upcoming goalkeeping issues than he's ever been at Motherwell. I think giving him game time would have been far more beneficial than another 90 for Gordon.

Yup, you can also sign up on the £1 membership and then set up a separate DD for whatever you'd like to donate monthly on top of that.

It's getting to the stage of wanting to lose so that we can punt McCall and give someone like Imrie a shot to see if they can make the step up.

None of them have turned into bad players overnight, but it is clearly a significant concern ignoring the Patterson/Hickey windup shite that several of our key players are going through a tough time at their clubs. That said, this is realistically about as good a time as you could pick to have a collective shite spell. None of them have turned into poor players overnight. In Tierney's case, there are almost certainly going to be enough games for him over the next 4 months to keep him fresh and indeed given his past it might be beneficial from a Scotland point of view. I also agree that McGinn probably needs a bit of a rest. I think he's a good enough player that he'll force his way back in at Villa and hopefully in a better position. As long as these guys are involved every week in the matchday squads and getting at least some minutes then I don't think it's a huge concern. Gilmour is the one I'd most like to see getting more minutes but he's behind 2 excellent players who seem to be pretty robust. At least one of them is likely to move on in the next 6-9 months though and that will be the big test for Gilmour. He has time on his side and Scotland and Brighton can afford to be patient with him.
Ultimately, what matters is how they play when they turn up for Scotland and none of the players listed have shown any significant cause for concern in that respect.

I think the £45 is worth it just to have a pick of the better seats in the North stand on the opening day of the members sale which are all gone before any public sale.
As someone who doesn't really make any away games now this is the only reason I renew and it's 100% worth it for this alone.

Not a foul. Play on.

Muirhead and McMillan did OK first half v Queens, one poor goal conceded but think Hodson probably carries the can for that although not seen the replays. Our defence has only really gone to shit in the last 3 games once Akinola and/or Brownlie makes an appearance (although by all accounts Muirhead was having a nightmare against Aberdeen). Muirhead is a decent defender at this level when paired with a good CB like Holt but he's nowhere near good enough to carry Akinola or Brownlie. Has to be Muirhead and McMillan centre halves and Hodson RB.

Good analysis, thanks.
However, it begs an obvious question - why hasn't Aidan Fitzpatrick taken advantage of the opportunity to cement a starting place?
I think there's some rationale to your question but in fairness, Fitzpatrick has only started 3 of the 8 games Fuctifano listed, we've won 2 and the third was the Falkirk clusterfuck which largely rests with McCall. Continually playing Tiffoney both risks Tiffoney's fitness and prevents Fitzpatrick getting anything close to a run in the team.
Anyway it's all moot if Holt is out for 8 weeks. Any word on Docherty?

Think he’s missed more games than he’s played for us, guy is made of chocolate
To be fair he wouldn't be playing for Caley if he wasn't injury prone.

The extra time points rule is a joke, Portugal basically had an interest in seeing the game into extra time assuming Iceland weren't offering any forward threat.

Shit rule that about no goal straight from a throw in. Lucky for us!
It's really not to be fair. You can't score with your hands.

Bit disappointed in the crowd despite the record, Wales got 5,000 more to the Bosnia game.

Video is Wales centric but does a good job of explaining it
That states 1 point for a penalty shoot out, do you get 3 points for an ET win?

Is it not just a case that we beat ROI that's us at the World Cup?
Unfortunately not. If we win in normal time we need one of:
- Portugal beat Iceland (by same or less margin)
- Wales beat Switzerland
If we win in extra time we need one of :
- Portugal beat Iceland in ET (by same or less margin)
- Wales beat Switzerland
Think that's right but happy to be corrected.

Saw that out brilliantly. Need one of Portugal or Wales to win on Tuesday and get the job done against Ireland. Think I'm right in saying any win would be enough if Wales win.

Dowds couldn't really be doing any more to demand a starting spot, the only man in the country with a better strike rate than Haaland. Still feel we're a better team with Graham starting though, even accounting for his one missed sitter a game.

Shocking grammar.
I'm clearly not au fait with other clubs' lowest ever Scottish Cup crowds but I would be completely stunned if any other club in Scotland at the weekend had a crowd that was almost 20% lower than theif previous ever lowest attendances. Had a quick look at Morton and Hamilton as an example and their attendances were both actually up on recent league games which makes our figures look even worse.
